  1. Anyone find out more info on this? I tried to take my third row headrests out on my BL and couldn't get them out. Took it to the dealer and they said they would have to remove the seat covers to get them out since the headrest drop function is electronically controlled.
  2. Just found this out as well. My toll tag has stopped being read and NTTA said they can send another toll tag. Alternatively, they said that if ZipCash pulls on my license plate it will pull from the account at toll tag rates and not zip cash. I won't hold my breath on it working as described, but we'll see. What color is your ride? Wave if you see a white BL up in Frisco
  3. We have twins! Love the white with the brownish red interior on our similar vehicles, and it looks even better once you slap some tint on there. Congrats!
  4. Fuzzy -- doing a great service here that is not normally done outside of the specific subforum for this stuff. Thank you for your efforts! Glad I ordered mine when I did. The only other gators I see in the wild are from the Lincoln Experience Center nearby -- they all have Michigan license plates. Otherwise, ours is the only one around
  5. Had it happen to me finally (the radar detector, not the toll tag). It was a cloudy day and the speed would not readout on the front of the detector. Interestingly enough, it still warned me about red light cameras without my phone being connected. That leads me to believe that it's still getting a GPS signal but not a strong enough one.
  6. I've got to do my wife's soon. She has the Escort Max 360, but I'm going to steal that to replace my V1 in my vehicle. So, I'll be ordering the new 360C, blendmount, and mirror tap. Will let you know exactly what works.
  7. My order from entry to keys in my hand was just at 8 weeks. I wasn't in a hurry, as long as it was here by May when we are expecting our third and will need three car seats plus storage space -- something our Yukon Denali couldn't support. A crappy dealer in DFW tried to use scare tactics that you either pay MSRP and take what you can get, or you order and wait 6 months. Needless to say, they were wrong since I got exactly what I wanted at X plan pricing. I emailed their GM and the salesman who was helping me to try and correct some of their errors, but they continued with the scare tactics. Maybe I should send him a picture of the new vehicle?
  8. I never got a gift either. I'm reaching out to concierge today re: Avis President's Club membership (I travel a bunch) and will ask about other items that should have come with the vehicle. ETA: The concierge mentioned that it is on a dealer by dealer basis, so we will all have mixed experiences on gifts.
  9. I had a chance to look through the manual, and it states that the headlight should test left to right in motion at start up. The funny thing is mine doesn't look like it does that. I'll have to get my wife to start it up while I stand in front of it at some point.
  10. Gtechniq is as good as it comes in my book for ceramic coating, and the stuff works. I have to side with akirby here though and agree it lasts less than 12 months, and the maintenance is reapplying sealant essentially to keep it from wearing off completely. Each year it will degrade more and more until there isn't any left (the end of term) and the maintenance periods are to slow that degrading. Ceramic coating is also far cheaper than alternatives. I did a front to back, full body coverage Suntek PPF on my Audi RS5. The stuff is amazing, it protects way more than ceramic, doesn't shine quite as much, and is self healing. The two downsides to this are cost and cost. Obviously the film is expensive, but you have to spend quite a bit on a good installer so they wrap the edges for the seamless look. Re: windshield noise -- nothing in mine. Sounds like it has a gap in the adhesive and/or seal which is causing it. The volume should theoretically increase on windy days or as speed increases. I've always had this happen on every replacement windshield at some point regardless of the glass or the installer.
  11. That's interesting to me, because one of the things I've noticed is that the car is lacking tint. I know this is due to differing regulations state to state, but I was just thinking I needed to get the windows tinted and was also going to put some Llumar on the windshield which I've done before in their clear versions. My guess is the rear windows are actually colored rather than tinted, and that means hardly any UV protection or heat reflection advantage. Thinking about it in that perspective, I'm wondering if they would have put some coating on the windshield but left the front windows blank (at least they look that way). My Escort Max 360 works fine, keeps a strong connection with GPS, and displays speed real time continuously (based on GPS info). I wonder if yours has something mine doesn't.
  12. A little off topic, but we are going to test the paint out on this thing. The family and I went in to dinner last night, came back out to a swarm of birds and over 200 craps on our 48 hour old car. I'm sure you can imagine my demeanor. With kids tired, upset, and ready to get home, they and my wife appeased me while I took it to a self power wash setup across town since i refused to let it sit on there. We joke on the mute button above, but I was surprised how well my wife understood...perhaps because it's HER car
  13. I updated my post so we missed each other in mid-air Cool that your MKX does left and right at start up! Not sure why they do and the Navigators don't then
  14. Yes, I'm not disagreeing with you. Let me rephrase: the adaptive refer to the cornering ability. The up and down motion is to calibrate height (self leveling). Adaptive headlights don't need to calibrate left and right because they are in sync with the steering wheel
  15. The one thing that is the most surprising to me after only driving it 25 miles home from the dealership -- peace and quiet. It is quieter than any vehicle I think I've ever had, and that covers american, german, and japanese manufacturers.
