  1. This is the time to get the best deal on a 2017. That sticker price must have been a 6.2 Lariat. I was looking at one that was 10 grand off. It was 47,000. Think it was missing the value package I wanted but had other stuff. I almost got it. Maybe I got lucky but found a 2017 Lariat, FX4 , Value package, and it had a diesel for 13,000 off the 63,000 sticker. I pulled the trigger. I love this truck. 3 grand more than I was going to spend on the gasser but now I have the 6.7, so I'm happy. I had to widen my search but it was worth it. Keep looking. They will only go up. No better time than then the next few months and good selections still.
  2. Ok Have to update. That truck did not work out. This stuff was crazy at the end. Other dealers would not release trucks to the dealer I wanted to get truck from. Supply and demand. So its a long story but the first one I wanted is what I needed up with. So YES I do I have my new truck. I’m going on my first drive over 40 MPH in a few minutes down to our river house, couple hours away. So I’m going to get my first real drive. Only got this one 2 days ago late evening. So its still a F250 CC 160” WB , 6.7, 3.55 rear, now. Magnetic not Silver which I like better anyways. . Lariat Value Package. Still 18in Goodyears AT tires. FX4 ..... Think that’s it. I’m off for rest of weekend and I’m really happy with this setup. Thanks again for feedback.
  3. Appreciate the opinions. After missing out on 2 trucks because I was still trying to make up my mind on things. I finally made a decision on a truck that my dealer found. It is very close to one that I wanted that was at a dealer that I really didn’t want to buy from and they wouldn’t transfer to mine. So acually I do like this one better so it has all worked out. Just stayed with the 18in Goodyears AT. Thanks.....
  4. Making sense of it all now. And Ill know if my reader will soon. I pulled the tigger yesterday. Did all the paperwork but I have to wait til Tue to pickup truck. Trucks in Va beach. About 4 hrs from me. So they have to pick it up and prep it. Then I can do my run through and make sure no issues. I had been up so early yesterday and had to work, that by the time I got out of dealer with all that darn paperwork and home hit the sack. Think its just dawning on me that I have finally bought a truck. Now I know how these guys feel that special order and have to wait weeks. I only have to wait til mon or tue probably. So it doesnt seem real yet but yes sir Im starting to get psyched. Cant wait to actually get in and not be just test driving something that I know isnt it. And yes sir its the 6.7........ 3.31 instead of 3.55 but I wasnt passing up the deal. Been looking long enough. So a 2017 CC 6.7, 6.75 bed, Lariat w/value package, FX4, Nav, supplemental heater, block heater, roof lights, upfitter switches. 3.31 locking rear. And Silver. Had to go look at some Silver ones again and more i looked the more I liked it. Darn glad I kept waiting and listening to all of ya. Thank you there bud. I know Im not going to have any second thoughts down the road. This truck will fit our needs perfect.
  5. I appreciate that. I figured you had a better answer than some of the stuff I see online. Dealers are clueless. Drive to work is like 7 mins. But yes I get enough other driving in that Im not worried about it. Just seems funny to me that if the regen is important when full that you would get some kind of warning. The manual did say something like what you said. Seemed to be several that meant the same thing. Guess one is talking about the Passive Regen with exhaust filter cleaning and then one next one with drive to clean maybe thats the Active Regen and needs to finish. But that next warning, filter overheated Stop NOW. wow that didn't sound good. Ha. So peopl e were saying that it wants to clean every 500 or so miles. But it kinda sounded to me in the manual that it would do some passive along the way then maybe need that longer drive to really get soot off. That OBDII with phone would be nice to give you a heads up unless you drove longer drives all the time then wouldn't ever matter i guess. I have a OBDII reader that had in old truck to clear codes. Would that one read the exhaust filter. I haven't used that thing in a long time but I have it somewhere. Doesn't work with the phone. Just did checks and read and clear codes. Well off to see a 2017 F250 CC 6.7 w 3.31 rear. Value package. FX4.... Silver. Not my first choice but if the price is right. Could just have a new truck. Thanks again.
  6. If I could get your opinion on the Regen deal. I read a lot of people dealing with it. I did read the 250 manual on it last night and the warmings that you get if you don’t drive in a manner to let it do its thing. So my worry is that we will not be doing that traveling with TT for a year around to retirement But really for some time I will not be driving but a lot of shorter trips. Close to work kind of stuff. Stores .etc. Still read about if its 100% you can do a manual regen ( if equipped ask dealer) in driveway (30 min) or something. I saw on other forum and asked same thing. One wrote if I knew it was really 100% i would like to be able to be in control and turn it on say to speak. But I see most people say you don’t really see that and actually have to add that option at dealer or I guess that where the EDge monitor comes in...............So looking for advise for how that works or how to handle Regen when driving mostly short trips....Thanks
  7. Ok went and test drove a 2017 f250 6.7 today. That was nice. It surely is different than driving a gas engine. But smooth. It did get up and go. Ask if they’d let me drive it up to the mountains and back. Only take a few hours. He didn’t flinch. Love to see how it handled going up and down the Thornton Gap. I can imagine that engine purring. So it’s11,000.00 off sticker and almost exactly what I specked out to order the other day for the 6.2. Still around 53. Whew.....Not like the old days. He said good resale value. I said I’m dieing in it.....Didn’t have a couple options. Funny not even running boards. That’s a climb. Yep could put those on myself. So really leaning towards just getting that truck. I’ll sleep on it.... Thanks for everyone’s insight.....
  8. Any thoughts on these Monitors or actually programming the engine.
  9. I agree with ya Fordmantpw. I did like the machined 20’s. Maybe I’m lazy. Looked easier to keep up. That’s what made me look twice at them. Yes I agree with that tread difference. The GoodYears were more aggressive tread that the Michelins. Think that was really the only choices on the AT tires factory. I was just getting the 18’s before I started this back and forth. I was pretty much ordering a 2018 F250 6.2 CC w/4.30.......Then of coarse i see a 2017 6.7 CC with 20’s that day and I was crap. 10 grand off ends up the same within 2 grand of what I’m thinking of ordering. Thought I had made up my mind on the diesel part. If they would just let me drive each up the Blue Ridge and back. LOL....I know that the diesel would be great with towing elevations but wont be towing except traveling. Hopefully that gets to be more and more in a few years. Not even positive on trailer. Guessing under 10,000. So trying to make a decision on truck that I wont second guess down the road. I can see the forums are pretty 50 50 on the 6.7 - 6.2.... Wow what a ride. And to think I was just getting another 150..... The 6.2 gas mileage seems pretty crappy for most of my daily driving. Not that disel is getting a lot more and boy that price does go up but boy that 6.7 for mountains.... Here we go again..................
  10. I did go look at some trucks yesterday and I'd have to say, I did like the look of the 20's. Big tire. One was on a metallic type wheel. Not the standard chrome one. I thought it looked better on that rim. Just my opinion. Some say that because of larger sidewall the 18's tow better. Or better to air down if necessary. Not sure when that would be if your not off roading. Guess deep snow. But those 20's are fat so I would think they would do a good job. Long as you had some good tread.
  11. I went over to a dealer yesterday that had two trucks with they said factory spray bed liners. Both 2017 250's. What was crazy was one looked pretty good. Nice, even shiny and the other dull and really kinda looked crappy. Ask him why the difference. He had no idea. That just confused me more than when I started. Looks like safer to go with Line-X.
  12. What size spare tire did your truck come with. A 20 or I have heard, 18".
  13. Whats the opinion on the right wheels for the F250?
  14. Is it true that they don't pull off the box link brackets when they spray so you can see the original paint through middle of them?
  15. I didn't know they were interchangeable with the sensor part. I get it now said the blind man......Thanks. I thought new stems had their own sensor part and then you needed to use a new monitoring sensor to go with them. Never had read crap about these TPMS systems. Even tires aren't simple anymore. Ha......
