  1. A documentation of the process to refurbish the OEM I beams for a 1997 Ford Ranger.
  2. I removed the bushing in preparation of cleaning and powder coating the I beams Chrome Black. They should look good.
  3. In a process of rejuvenation of the Ranger I have changed many of the fluids and the Ranger is responding very well. 20 years of neglect now being corrected So far most of the fluid testing has returned and everything is looking good. Here is the oil change video
  4. I recently replaced the emissions purge valve and thermister (controls the purge valve) the parts are available but the rubber hoses must be sourced and then you have to buy elbows and other connectors to reconstruct the lines as they are no longer available. This is how I did it.
  5. P1443 code emissions. My first choice on the list of possiblities was the Purge valve and Purge valve sensor as the hoses were rotten also. I replaced the parts and hoses. NO go. I then re-evaluated as I had fuel pressure and chose to replace the Up and down stream O2 sensors. Jack pot. P1443 is now gone. I cleared the codes and drove it with out any other DTC's Now I have to address the AC as it is cycling on and off and is low on Freon. Amazing on how you remove the blanket of issues and find the others laying underneath
  6. I recently changed the 20 year old fluid in my 1997 Ford Ranger. That stuff was nasty. Let's hope the testing shows no damage to the transmission.
  7. I finally changed out the power steering fluid. The previous owner never changed the fluids except the oil. Here is the first of many video's I made changing the fluids. Remarkably the more fluids I changed the better it ran. No LEAkS!!
  8. The previous owner only changed the oil!!! Busy replacing all the fluids and the Ranger is now running much better. It has a P1443 code so I am replacing the Purge valve solenoid. I replaced the 20 year old power steering fluid and surprise no leaks yet.
  9. Just bought a used 1997 Ranger and was checking it out. Needs some suspension work but the body and engine are in pretty decent shape. Hardly any body rust but the leaf spring links are needing attention along with all new shocks. Only 92K miles on it. Seems like a weekend here or two should be seeing some ride improvements. What are the best leaf spring brackets to purchase?
