  1. 2013 focus SE- DPS6 trans ...bought used about 1yr. ago. NOTHING but trouble since day one. Oil seal leaking fluid onto clutch plates....repaired 4 times ( which means, new(bad) seal and spray the plates with 2 cans brake cleaner) yeah, a real pro fix !! Have had the TCM,PCM re-fleshed,latest software and NO change or very little change for about a day or two. 8-24-16 had the NEW clutch pkg. installed cause the readings were off the charts, and it took away the shudder........FOR ONE WEEK !! Car had no power and sounded like I lost the muffler. Shudder came back and while driving on the highway with a tractor trailer right behind me.....the TCM quit ! Lost ALL power. The only reason I'm still alive is from some quick thinking and driving down the shoulder avoiding detour sign's along the way. I am totally aware of ALL the problems with this car....but, what really bother's me the most is that NO ONE from my dealer or FORD has sent any warranty info,recall info, TSB info,service recall info. ETC. Very bad on their part,I've owned ford's all my life but, this will probably be my last. Anyway....fix for shift issues....there really are none !!
  2. Well....here's my answer, at least...on the 2013 SE with the DPS6 tranny......about 30,000 if your VERY lucky !!! Just had mine repaired 8-24-16 (new dual clutch pkg) or so they said. Ran like shit for 1 week and then while on the highway at 65mph with a tractor trailer right behind me.....the TCM quit and lost ALL power !! Damn near fatal situation that only was adverted by me pulling off the shoulder and almost slamming into detour signs. Dealer says that this is very common and they were so sorry that I almost got killed. Part will be covered under extended warranty but is on back-order....good news is that it MIGHT only take a month or two to get it. Yeah, I know it's an auto, but it sure doesn't drive like one.
  3. Recently bought a 2013 focus se and have been having the same problems as everyone else. took it back to dealer,tech drove it and said it was"within Ford specs". Made an appt. and once in...they had to pull trans, and did the "2 cans of brake cleaner" job on the contaminated clutches and replaced the leaking imput shaft seal...i am sure with another OLD # seal....which is now leaking again within a month..OH, and the "latest flash on the TCM" this is the 4TH time it will be having the same procedure done. why cant FORD just step up to the plate and just replace the trans and clutches and allow their CUSTOMERS to enjoy and be SAFE in their vehicle. Hey Ford...fix it...or buy it back. we know you've been working on this for a while now, problems,complaints, Lawsuits...etc ! JUST DO IT !!!
