  1. Akirby; So after a few days of driving and testing I am ready to admit that the display is working as it was engineered. I expected a true night screen, dark grey or black (as in my Super Duty) but in reality the system is programmed to display a darker green on the night setting. Today I was in garage having a clear bra installed and the NAV was a color I had never seen, sort of dark blue. So this adjusting the screen color to the ambient lighing must be working. I do think that there should be a darker night screen. I think as it is would be good for driving in metropolitan areas with street and business lights but I live in the mountains and black is black so the screen seems too bright for me. Well that's the way it is and the car is awsome. Thanks for bouncing these ideas with me. It is appreciated.
  2. Yes, Auto dim is just ON/OFF. It is a simple setting that either allows or does not allow the screen to dim/brighten when you dim or brighten the dash lights. There is really nothing automatic about it. Just ties the display brightness to the dash dim adjustment. Has nothing to do with color. I will take some screen shots today and tonight and post tomorrow. Appreciate being able to bounce this stuff off you.
  3. Akirby; OK, so this afternoon when I had the car out in the bright sun, on Auto and covered the sensor on top of the dash the NAV went into a very dark (black? Map). That is my recollection and is what I would call night mode (My F-350 goes into this mode at night) This evening I tested it. On Auto the best I could get the NAV screen to was a darker green, same as when I pulled into the garage during the day. I know it was in night mode because all the other screens Climate, Audio etc were in the dark mode versus the daytime light blue mode. Why it acts differently during the day with the sensor covered and at night in the pitch black I cannot understand. Another point is when I did go into the garage and the NAV went to darker green and I covered the sensor there was NO change in the NAV screen as there was when out in the sunlight. Now that I have some data points I will try it again tomorrow in the sunlight. Any chance you can try some of these things if you are similarly equipped. Does your NAV ever go into a really dark map mode when driving at night? Thanks
  4. I agree 1000% and will try this evening. When I was testing during the day (I had Auto set and the display was indeed in day mode). I then covered the windshield sensor and it turned to night, ALL Good. Than I pulled into the garage and the screen darkened, ALSO good, BUT when I covered the sensor it did not go into night mode or darken any further, hence my concern. Maybe there are additional ambient light sensors I do not know about. Tonight I will go for a drive. I live in a very rural town and finding darkness in the norm. I really appreciate the assistance and will post after my test run.
  5. I have a new Edge Sport and am having trouble getting the display to switch to NIGHT mode automatically when it gets dark. It just wont do it even if the display setting is in Auto. There is some conflicting explanation about the setting as well. The Sync 3 manual states for Auto Mode "The screen automatically switches between day and night modes based on the outside light level." However when in the display setting mode the information icon says the following. "Set the color of the touch screen (Day/Night), enable automatic adjustment of the color mode or turn off the display." No where does it state Automatically switch between Day/Night. When in Auto mode and I pull into the garage it does indeed darken the display colors and I think that is what Auto Mode really does, then there is Day, Night or off. It is hard to believe that you would have to manually select Day, Night or off manually. I would think that if Auto does indeed manage the the color mode that eventually it would manage it to Night mode. Very difficult to explain in words. So all of you with sync3 (I have Nav) is your screen changing to night mode automatically and if so what are your display settings? Or can you offer an explanation? Thanks.
  6. I have a 2016 Edge Sport. Just playing around with it and trying "window global open & close" I can global open the two front windows by unlocking the car from the fob and than holding the unlock button for a few seconds. The problem is I cannot "close the windows". I tried the lock button but no go. I tried different variations of pressing/holding the lock and unlock buttons. Anyone know how to do this? Holding the lock button is supposed to close them, at least on a Fusion. I cannot find anything on the Edge. Thnaks

Pioneer. Thanks for all your help in tracking my new Edge. It arrived at the dealer yesterday and I was able to pick it up. So far so good. It was 144 mile drive home from the dealer in the dark. It was hard not to play with all the toys and keep my eyes on the road. I love the power of the sport.

Pioneer, If you don't mind me bothering you one more time can you check on 2FMPK4AP8GBB21181? Last you told me it was on a rail car in Indiana with a due date delivery between the 5th and 11th. Just want to make sure it is still the schedule. Many thanks
  11. Was sitting around yesterday so I decided to try to color in my stock 20 inch wheels to see what they would look like. It is clear to me that the brake calipers would need to be painted or treated in some manner if dark wheels were installed. I really like the optional 20 inch wheels on the Titanium. They are available at a cost of about $1600.00. (with tires, so not so bad) So for you folks with the optional 21 inch on the sport, how do you think they look with those silver calipers?

Pioneer; Could I please trouble you to check the status of VIN# 2FMPK4AP8GBB21181 It was scheduled to be built on Feb. 19th and an ETA of 3/15 Thanks much
  14. Don't know much about wheels but I do know I don't like the OEM 20's on my soon to be delivered Sport. My plan was to either powder coat the OEMs or replace them. I have decided to replace them. Does anyone know the spec on the wheels? Can I use 8.5 OR 9.0 inch rims? Is offset an issue? I don't want any warranty issues either. Any help appreciated.
