  1. I had problems about a week ago..... cleared out my saved passwords and "cashe" ......everything is good........
  2. Thanks for the info......... I have some work to do....... Thanks for your response............
  3. ..... As stated above......I have tried ...... and my mirrors don't heat up....... Note: Although I've never tried it, I thought the rear window had to be closed for the defogger and mirror to work........ here's another video....this one is more involved..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-51t4WZfqkY&list=PL9owbLuyqXum50tz_GZ9SkiMt882iJ_3t&index=3&t=102s
  4. I was told by a service rep that if the rear defogger didn't work, the heated mirrors wouldn't work. One depends on the other, it's like the old christmas tree lights that were hooked up in serius, and he's correct, my mirrors are not heating up...... That being said, I came across this. Wondering if this is a good idea...... Don't want to burn out the wiring harness.......
  5. Bought my 2011 F150 new. Sliding read window with defogger was under warrrenty when the FIRST one went out. It was repaired at no cost in 2013....... That window lasted until October of 2018 when the defogger quit again, and was replaced, this time only partially paid for by Ford....... Now, 16 months later, defogger has gone out again, and Ford won't help with or pick up the bill..... There was a recall on this window, and I'm sure they're still using the same design because they still have the same problem....... I don't care if the defogger don't work, but is there a way to "by-pass" the defogger to get the heated mirrors it work?
  6. So........... I decided to call back and see if I got different "rep"............. I did and he said it doesn't ......and said the other person has mistaken........ so .... should I make another call and go best 2 out of three...... HA
  7. I'm having it done today at "Auto One " ...... They clean-up the bottom of the vehicle, and let it sit over night to dry out in-case there is any moisture......... then spray a thin material that stays pliable ''' so it don't crack like Ziebart......... Ziebart is "old school", tar like, that cracks and then retains water....... This "stuff" is not suppose to do that.......... My Flex was never in water and had about 100 miles on it when I took it in.... I have my fingers crossed.............. My last vehicle was a Mercury...... an '07 was undercoated, that company went out of business, and didn't have a spot on it....... but it was time for a new one.....
  8. Just talked to a Ford Rep on their Ford Help line...... I was told that Rust proofing and undercoating "in most cases "would void corrsion warranty......... .......... so now what?............
  9. So did I ...... My question is..... you gonna undercoat it?........... I'm in Michigan and I think I'm gonna do it..... I keep my cars a long time and with the road salt and other crap they use, I think it's a good idea .... average about 12 years before I buy a new one........... What do you guys think?
  10. Just a note: Tesla just announced it's new 2020 roadster will have a go 600 range.........
  11. There are 2 different battery packs being used ..... there is the Standard parallel Ni-Cad batteries, capable of operating under normal use for over 175,000 miles. Ni-Cad hybrid batteries, however, are much more susceptible to break down when used in extreme environments, particularly when temperatures fall into the negatives. And then there is lithium-ion batteries. Plug-ins and most new hybrid cars typically use these. They don’t suffer from the same downsides as Ni-Cad............ Ford offers a 8-year warranty or minimum 80,000 miles (whichever comes first) for their "hybrid battery" pack...... also, it depends on temperature ranges, usage, and charging cycles............ New lithium-ion batteries can run anywhere from $1000 to $3000 or higher, excluding the cost of labor. Ni-Cad batteries are slightly cheaper.............. .... Example is the cost of replacing battery modules in a Tesla Model 3 is about $3000 - $7000, depending on the battery that was installed....... Current batteries on a Tesla 3 are designed to last somewhere between 300,000 - 500,000 miles........ equivalent of 1,500 cycles............
  12. akirby........ correct.... but as Decker stated "Porsche moved into "4" doors, SUV`s and Electric units but none were badged "911" or "Carrera".......... Call it what you will...... but don't call it a Mustang......
  13. HotRodGuy........... You're right....... Tesla's goal is to sell that many, but thats "world wide".......Sales in the first six months of the year put it less than halfway to that total, and it will have to sell 100,000 or more in each of the final two quarters to hit the target............ there is a maket, though small for them.....when you can "change out" or fully charge an electric in a resonable amount of time, thats when the market will expand........
  14. I think the Mach-E has a nice look......... Just not a nice name.......... I agree with "autoworker2......you can't name it "Mustang Anything"......'cause it's not, it's an SUV not a sports car......... and as for "E- Vehicle's" Nope, not for me....... I drive to northern Michigan....... 250 miles from home........ an auto like this goes about 300...... cutting it to close, so thats out of the question........ Took a vacation a few years back and drove to South Dakota in my F-150..... First stop was 370 miles from home......Can't make that trip in any E-Vehicle made and there's no way to "fill it up" during a short fueling stop. My F-150 made it without a stop ....... and thats the problem with any electric, "you can't get there from here"............... until the auto industry can make an electric that can perform like a "gasser", it will remain a novelty......right now they're about 2% of the market.....Then again, it could make a good second car........
  15. Ford certainly took a bold move calling this a Mustang Mach-E...... It's not a unique idea but, come on....... It looks nothing like a Mustang, and most likely doesn't share one part...... This is just another odd move by Ford..... I hope this "spinoff" don't screwup the original..........
  16. They are going to build their "all electric vehicle" in Flat Rock, so I thought the New Plant was just an "add-on" to the Flat Rock Plant? Thinking "autonomous" would be electric, so it would make sense.
  17. Good luck with that........I bitched about that 2 contracts ago and everybody thought I was crazy.............. I'm retired now and after all this time you'll have the same benefit I have, and I have the same as retirees 10 years before me...........
  18. Good Stuff........... I'll be watching............
  19. When they get caught, you have to make it hurt..... Some people get 1 year..... 2 years....... $10,000 fine..big deal...... more like 10-15 years and $100,000 fine......... so when someone gets the idea to go in the wrong direction maybe they will think twice..........
  20. Ford's Communications VP said. "It's like we always say, you can't spell fresh, fly and dope without Ford"......... WHAT.........?
  21. We now know what Kanye West has been doing in Detroit......... Checking out Ford and their cars. Trying to come up with something to save the company...... He says "One of the things we gotta set is Ford to have the highest design, the dopest cars, the most amazing, did I say dope. I don't say negative words and flip them. We just say positive, lovely, divine, universal words. So the fly-est,freshest, most amazing car........ And what we start with is......... I brought a gift with me here. This right here is the iPlane", he said as he got out his phone......"It's a hydrogen-powered airplane, and that is what the president should be flying in" I wonder if it looks like a Zeppelin?......... He has good ideas Trump should hire him to be head of the transportation department......
  22. Found an article about this...... very interesting......The "Janus Decision" now allows individual employees to break unions by not paying dues. But.... just think about what could happen in the long run. Not being represented by a union could backfire on them. Right to Work laws and the Janus Decision could be used to deny the same benefits of union employees to the non-union employees. Employers have no conttract with employees who opt out of unions or subscribe to the Janus ruling. Free of a contract, employers could strip non-union people of the wages and benefits of union employees. Now, will the law be interpreted like this........ who knows, but whoever thought Michigan would become a "right to work" state........ Also.....consider a workplace in which a majority of employees reject union representation. If a minority within a unit can opt out of union membership, then it should follow that a minority within a workplace should be able to opt in but, as we know this is not the case. .... Now I know it wouldn't be a good thing for employees who opt out to loose their benefits and wages. I'm only saying it's conceivable that "right to work" and the Janus Decision could eventually create this scenario. It is not in the Union's interest that employees opt out of paying for representation, these same employees should know that the union is the only thing out there that can save them from this fate. I feel "right to work" laws are used to break unions. As the money to support unions slows down, employers can get away with more. So nobody wins. The people I have talked to, who opt-out, have told me they do this because they don't support the unions political views. Ok, I get it, but I know there is a way to get that part of your money back. The Taft-Hartley Act of 1947 allows this. You can write to the union that you don't support there views and they are required to send this money back to you. I know a few people that have done this in the past and I believe this is the law that requires it. My opinion, which means nothing,.......if you are receiving what everyone else is, you should pay for the representation, if you don't, you are a nonunion worker and the first to go, no matter your seniority. You are just like an "outside" contractor..........
  23. I would pay to see a FOOD FIGHT........... LMAO........
  24. A year or so before I retired I had the Unit Chair tell me that he won't do to much for seniority employee's because they are getting ready to retire and the "payback" won't be there very long....... Then after I retired, in the next election, he ran unopposed.......... and that's how the union see's it's seniority employee's
  25. I have a question........... Does the Ford announcement mean that it's just Ford, the vehicle brand, or Ford the auto company, which would include Lincoln?
