  1. The scheduled to Day is the day it is bucked and runs down the line. It only takes a few hours to build. The PHEVs are unique in that the chassis are being built a mile away and the body/interior is done at CAP. Day/shift it goes down the line is tracked in case someone installs something wrong, or a machine/welder produces bad welds. It will make it interesting since they are being assembled apart. Just wondering out loud if it will have two dates, or they are trying to run them at the same time. slipping is normal if a commodity doesn't arrive or doesn't pass quality checks, it is why I don't get wrapped up in the stress of "OMG, my date slipped, what is going on Lincoln" LOL those people drive me crazy.
  2. Mine has slipped to 24 Nov now. I'm not sure how they are doing the build date, whether it is the top half or the bottom half, this should be interesting. It may just be the final assembly day.
  3. Good morning Cyber 2020 Aviator - VIN 5LMYJ8XY2LGL18538 Thank You
  4. Sunday is usually the build week date, mine was scheduled for the week of Nov 10, then when the orders get sent to the plant for that build week they have a "build to day". This is so the commodities and paint schedule can be sorted for the week. I did not look at the "to the day" date. I don't want to get too wrapped up in it. I did that with my Mustang and it was pure torture checking every day and not seeing it move. I'll probably check tomorrow to see what day it was built and what shipping ramp it went to. I'm cautiously optimistic I'll see it by Christmas, but I was at a Lincoln event last week and overheard someone say they would not be getting any GTs until their power center was installed in December. My dealer doesn't even have tracking on his power center equipment.
  5. My wife spends 15 minutes trying on a new dress, if there is a fitting issue, she does not buy it. I spend hours at tool stores, going over the ergonomics of each brand before paying a couple hundred bucks. Why on earth would you not inspect a 75K car before handing over a check? Mine is being built as I type, the New Car manager already knows I will take a day or however long it takes to be satisfied before any paperwork is signed or money changes hands. I drove an aviator for a few hundred miles and saw a few minor issues. I can't remember buying any car that did not develop issues. What you described the car as having when you left the dealers lot should have been caught in the acceptance inspection by you. Dealers do not do complete inspections, never had one done, besides if I am forking over the money, you bet I do the inspection . I do appreciate you detailing issues you have, helps the rest of us look at possible problem areas during our pre buy inspections.
  6. I haven't looked at the build day yet, the sticker won't populate until after the car is built and released from production to shipping. I just returned from my Daughters wedding. It was pretty amazing. I have to catch up on some work I delayed and then will check on the status.
  7. Very curious about the Western PA winters. My family is from central PA, and I'd like to be confident it will do well on winter trips.
  8. I'm not sure you understand. Go to the JDPowers web site and review Initial Quality and the 3 year dependability studies. 10% is exceptionally low across all luxury brands. Lincoln runs about 113 gigs per 100 vehicles which is better than the industry average of 142 per 100. Yea that is a lot, but better than Benz, Audi, Honda, Jag, Caddy and many others. Some people will have zero issues, others 20 plus. The chance of a person having an issue small or large is really high, on any car.
  9. The how it happens is "mass production" At least 1% of a great running line will have small issues. On a new launch with new production machinery it is closer to 10% will have issues after OKTB. I understand it may be a lot of money, but in the grand scheme, it is not a cash cow for Ford. Yes, they will make 5K-15K per unit, but the cost of R&D and the new plant overhaul are well over a Billion. They have to make that up, while keeping the customer happy and having a good margin. There is a delicate balance, major issues with quality and workers are eating into the balance sheet. Each line worker has a certain number of repetitious jobs per hour they need to complete. Start getting behind and they don't get the extra 10 seconds to make sure the panel is perfect. I encourage you to take a trip and visit the rouge assembly plant if they still offer tours. You can literally walk the line above the workers building F-150s. Humans are fallible, machines loose calibration or wear out. It is not a perfect process. As twintornado said earlier, the warranty is there to protect you, and the Aviator warranty is a good one.
  10. Make sure you ask if they except XPlan upfront, not all dealers will except it. If you have a good report with the sales manager, they typically will to keep you as a customer. Always remember you are in charge, it's your money and you have options.
  11. I put in my request in February, but they did not get allocation for a GT until July. I have their first Retail Allocation, they did not get a dealer order GT, so I will have their first GT. It is scheduled for the week of Nov 11.
  12. The question is will they have the software for VCM ll? If they do, then the mechanic could be just as good or better than the closest Lincoln Dealer. Don't forget to shop the service department at the same time as looking at cars. If you buy it from them, get it written on your contract they will remain subscribed to the Lincoln Service Updates.
  13. (800) 521-4140 Also your Lincoln Sales Manager (not the sales guy, should be Lincoln trained) I posted a photo of the CAP (Chicago Assembly Plant) production slide on another thread, it is taking longer than forecast to build Explorers and Aviators, plus they had to hold back about 10K of both for more inspections and recall fixes.. Your dates don't mesh either, production dates always start on Monday, the week before when the build sheets are sent to the factory a specific day is given. Once you have a build to day such as 9/26 of the 9/23 build week the vehicle is built. Your October dates don't line up. The 20th is a Sunday. I'll caveat that with if there is an issue with a commodity or paint color, it could slide. I saw a lady on facebook complaining of orange peel. They could have mixed a bad batch of a certain color, rather than stop the line, they just delay those being completed. They have not scheduled any Aviators for three weeks now, could be they are behind, or building export models. All of the internal production information is "Ford Secret" , easy way to lose a job is to publicize it. Those reps you talk to, including your dealer are only able to see so much. Those waiting on built units at FRAP have no idea when their SUV will be complete. They all just show in production. Yeah, it sucks not knowing. I have a friend who watched my Mustang being built, took it to the prep facility, watched them put the transport cover on and take it to the RAMP, it was MIA 46 days and I was not happy, nothing I could do, and he could not find it in a sea of cars. I just had to wait.
  14. As a previous first gen pre order customer. First thing I do is not to get excited about delays and slips. You say you want pristine, don't rush anything. Delays, OOPS, recalls, are all part of first run products. Year three is usually the time when you can count on a timeline, as long as there is not a Blizzard, Strike, Flood, Tornado, Fire or any other unplanned event. Do you have a VIN? Your Lincoln Concierge can see everything Cyber sees. He should be able to see scheduled to week or if it is close, to the day. You mention scheduled production day, what was your day and VIN? If you were scheduled to day and it slipped, there would be a reason, commodity problem, or yours was selected for crash testing. (Don't worry they have good tools and will fix it) Just kidding, you'll get a new one.
  15. It arrived at the dealer, they are doing the PDI (delivery inspection) detailing, adding anything else they do.
  16. Love it, I ordered the Blue Diamond/Roast combo as well. Could you post more pics after you pick it up? I guessed that roast would look great and your interior shot confirms it is lighter than the advertisements. Maybe Start a new thread called my New Aviator and opinion. It will make it easier for us to find actual owners to share pics, ask questions and have interested parties ask questions to separate from the folks who "heard, read, thought, or gained information second hand.
  17. Yes, it speeds up or slows down. Brake lights do come on when it slows. You can also bias it + or - 20mph, so if you always do 8 over, you just set it and it will go from 78 down to 68 from a 70 to 60 zone. It worked well on the one I had for a weekend.
  18. 5LMYJ9YY9LGL15673 is currently being built, Fuel Economy should be released any day now.
  19. Yes and Yes have not tracked one yet, but retail orders are only scheduled after OKTB.
  20. Should be, most of the orders I checked were Convoy.
  21. BTW, where will you be shipping too? Mine will be going to Memphis TN
  22. Thanks, ETAs are not provided until the car is built. Dealer may have given an estimate. Even deliveries down the street can take two weeks, but I've seen others roll out and the tires don't cool and its up the ramp and on a train leaving in an hour, then unloaded 1500 miles away 48 hours later and delivered within 96 hours of being built. It is rare and so is the two month journey. My Mustang did that, it was agonizing. I anticipate 3-6 weeks. If it is there sooner, super! if not I won't loose sleep.
