I’m on the verge of purchasing my second lease at the end of the term and that’s solely from a monthly payment standpoint. I can’t afford a massive down payment on something new to get anything remotely close to a payment that would fit in my budget. Even leasing something new would stretch things very thin, not to mention leasing an Edge (which is the best case scenario right now payment wise) is kind of dumb because it doesn’t really offer anything I don’t already get out of my Flex. I’m well aware I’m probably paying more for both cars than what I would have if I financed from the get go.

The reason the Maverick doesn’t have hybrid AWD at the moment has something to do with the way the exhaust routes around the rear suspension or something like that. I remember reading the engineer’s reason for it at the time of the original reveal with a comment saying if the demand was there they could possibly add it down the line.

GM follows Ford in ditching 9 speed transmission

It might just be me but every Ford automatic transmission I’ve had has been susceptible to harsh shifting. I’ve always chalked it up to that just being the nature of the beast. -

There are practical reasons to keep at least 1/4 tank in at all times, namely keeping the fuel pump cool especially in summertime. Yes that is actually a thing, I’ve toasted a couple of fuel pumps back in the day because of that. These days I usually fill up once a week for budgeting reasons so that generally means I rarely go below 1/4 tank. That will typically get me to/from work for 5-6 days and running the occasional errand on weekends. -

There used to be one, I had several people blocked at one point before they either left on their own or got the banhammer. -
He axed the Mercury division when it was obvious at least a decade earlier it should be done. GM meanwhile still can’t figure out where GMC and Buick fit in their hierarchy. And don’t give me that Buick is big in China line, if they were serious about the Chinese market they would figure it out with another brand.

I disagree, public opinion has definitely changed on hybrids and OEMs are adjusting to meet demand. -
The launch was delayed due to the strike. That’s about all I know.

I can’t speak on Android Auto because I’ve never used it before but to suggest Apple CarPlay ”…has stability issues that manifest themselves as bad connections, poor rendering, slow responses, and dropped connections” is utter bullshit in my experience. I’ve had iPhones for years going back to the iPhone 4g and never once had an issue with CarPlay. Neither has my wife. The only complaint I’ve ever had with it is how the CarPlay interface itself is by default brighter than the standard sync interface, even with the screen brightness set as low as it can go.

Wait, what? Is that new for 24? edit: skimmed through the article. You could always get a hybrid in XLT, I’ve been looking at them for months, Ford just prioritizes production of Lariat and higher trims so xlt is not as common. -
Found the crash test video https://x.com/aidrivr/status/1730329405568995335?s=46 Comparison with F-150 Lightning https://x.com/aidrivr/status/1730651572349304845?s=46 the irony of them being posted on the platform Elon owns is not lost on me lol. I can’t tell if the account is a Tesla Stan or if he’s legitimately trying to be objective but he does bring up a good point with the rear axle in one of his comments. Cybertruck has rear wheel steer so what we’re seeing could just be a tie rod breaking and not the axle itself. Also the comparison between it and the F-150 didn’t look all that different to my untrained eye save for the rear seat passenger in the Cybertruck that got yeeted into the back of the front seat.
