a bit long, so hang in there. I have a '59 Mercury SW 9" housing in my race car. the Strage axles have a pass. car register on the axle. which is 2 7/16". the Merc. drum register is 2 7/8". the shoes are 2 1/2" x 11". I looked in a Wagner brake book at the auto parts store. the book shows a '59-60 T-bird drum for the front #60055, 2 1/2" x 11". however there is no # for the rear. if you move up a few years, there is the same # drum but for a 2 1/4" shoe, and it is used on both front and rear. so my ? is, is there a difference between the front and rear drums, for the 59-60? does the T-bird use a 2 7/16" hub register? thanks Rod in AZ
