  1. The interior shouldn't be the subject of everyone's ire, it's the driving characteristics and build quality. Even when the 4th gens first came out, I thought the ride and handling was just good enough, and now with the wagonerr, gms, and coming infiniti, critics and owners say the ride is just good enough. Steering feel and brake feel has also been criticized as well, especially when they say the f150 is better in all areas and it's a pickup on leaf springs. It needs to be improved substantially. Also, my wife's cx9 half the price of my navigator feels way better in terms of fit finish and solidity. The escalade and wagoneer also feel markedly better. The nvh, and build quality needs to feel like I paid for a $60k - 100k product
  2. Right, the interior design is the least thing that needs to be fixed. The driving characteristics and quality need to be fixed first and foremost. The drive is outdated by today's standards and the quality is putting a bad taste in consumers mouths.
  3. The expedition and navigator hasn't shared an interior since 2003, gm followed suit a generation later. Gm and just about every other automaker usually follows fords lead In Regards to trends. That said, the denali didn't get a diff Interior from its counterparts until 2021. The escalade may look different, but it uses way more "shared parts" than the nav does to the expy, yet people feel the interior is better. People won't care if they share the same set up so much as they feel special. I'll wait until they are released to complain, but if ford is charging $90k to get in a platinum, I would prefer if it gave me nav vibes.
  4. I don't mind it. People criticized the decision for a large tablet like screen, so ford decided to give the expy a better alternative that makes it easier to navigate while driving. Someone's gonna complain about something, but if lincoln ups the ante on materials and aesthetic, I dnt see anything wrong.
  5. The Explorers new rear end is well done, why is it so hard for ford to get the expys rear right
  6. The rear of the frame is different. And because of the irs, it takes away some space from the fuel tank.
  7. Lookin at the photos, I noticed the truck will be a tad longer, looks like they pulled the rear end back. Also, the tailgate looks split, so instead of a lift glass either the tailgate will split up like the 3rd gen explorer, or split clam shell style like bmw. They kept that weird as split in the c pillar. Also, the mirror pedestal will be plastic again...eww.
  8. The rear lift in for cargo has been greatly reduced, thats a plus. The tail light design looks interesting, but I hope the light signature with the light thats actually on the tailgate will be continuous and not tacked on.
  9. I think I like the refreshed escalade over the refreshed yukon tbh(I added the uncovered prototype to the tukon thread), but the Tahoe clearly got the biggest glow up. It's a shame, lincoln let the navigator flounder for so long in the third gen. Yes, the escalade was considered more edgy and in style during the early aughts, but the 2nd gen nav was still very popular, all it needed was a bigger v8 and it would've never took the dive it did.
  10. Here a regular escalade in sport trim https://gmauthority.com/blog/2024/04/refreshed-2025-cadillac-escalade-sport-spotted-completely-undisguised-photos/
  11. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2024/04/heres-the-2025-gmc-yukon-denali-before-youre-supposed-to-see-it-photos/ Heres the yukon exterior, no camo or covering.
  12. It's not the look lincoln needs to knock out the park...its the drive and nvh.
  13. They should've never gotten rid of it, atleast for the nav
  14. I believe he meant the heated and cooled 2nd row seats. The nav did get those. They should've gotten those in 2018, but it wasnt a big feature at the time. I do think the belt line door handles would add to the navs prestige.
  15. Agreed, and if they don't, they don't listen to their customers like they say they do. Its odd too, ford and lincoln specifically were the first brand to add air suspension to their suvs, and when all their competitors added it, ford turns around and gets rid of it
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if lincoln tested it and found it unfavorable among the testers. Though I like the feature of the ha does in the window trim, I'd rather have soft closing doors as an added feature. Too many people slam my doors and it irritates me to no degree lol.
  17. My guess, it would make the handles too high for children to grab comfortably
  18. The acadias interior gives me jeep gc vibes. Also, I feel like gm waits for ford to do something, then says let's copy that, but a tad better, and puts it out to praise when ford would get dinged for sane feature.
  19. I like it inside and out. Neither my wife and I like the stalk for the lock. I do think the nav when revealed will look better, atleast in the front.
  20. Def grab the extended warranty. I don't think the auto start function would be a buy back. There's probably something else wrong that they aren't telling you.
  21. I would think they would give the nav it's own press event, like caddy did with the escalade, where people can sit in it and get a feel for the interior and exterior. I would say early summer or late spring. They revealed the explorer for Detroit auto show in early Feb and then the aviator on its own less than a mnth later, I bet they'll do the same or similar for expy and navi.
  22. Some buttons under the screen is nice, though it's away from the driver. And idk how many ppl are gonna mistake the volume for the tranny dial. I would've preferred if they bookended the buttons they have with the tranny dial near the driver, and volume dial closer to the passenger, even with the dial the same. That way it looks symmetrical and it though the vol dial would be a reach, it wouldnt be confused for the tranny dial. The steering wheel looks smaller, and a tad more circular than the one in the nautilus, but still oval. The interior materials look good though. And the door card looks like the Explorers door card as well. I'm not mad if the upper trim (the photo looks to be a high level limited or kr trim because of the burnt orange/red leather) shares similarities and layout to the nav interior, the expy is getting closer to that 100k mark, and at that point, it better feel like a nav. Also, I'm sure the seats will be similar to what's offered now, which is also fine for atleast the first row. The ford seats are way more comfy than most of the class, but they do need to make the first row atleast 12 way now or make the contour air bladders standard, and bring back massage and make it more available. The second and third row seats are too flat, and need more contour and cushion. Some people are upset about the body not changing much, but the body and packaging are mostly good, and it looks like they extended the cargo area a bit so that's good. What really needs work is the drive. Tranny calibration shouldve been priority 1, than suspension tuning. Also, the body still jitters and shakes too much like a truck. Gm and jeep of all places have leaped frog ford here, and with nissan putting out a new armada/qx80 that will surely be a magic carpet ride, ford needs to catch up. Let's hope they put as much time into the drivetrain, suspension, and NVH as they did the infotech. It may be revealed during NYIAS at the end of the month. Im looking at explorer, maverick, and f150 pics to get an idea of what the expy will look like. Ford has actually done a pretty good job in making the expy look more unique, I do find it looking more explorer like than f150 since 2017. I see they will taking away the chrome strip belt line atleast for the expy. I'm guessing there will be some type of design element on the c pillar, kind of like what gm does with their suvs maybe. If they do end up with a split tailgate, I hope it's closer to what the 02-05 explorer offered, where the tail glass component was closer to the ground, but opened parallel to the tail gate, not opposite. One thing I do not like, the roof rails look to be integrated to the roof, instead of lifted off the roof like it is current. I know it's cleaner, but kills functionality and look. All the integrated roof rails have clamp on cross bars, which give the car a tacky look that I don't like. Gm and most of new crossovers use the integrated roof rails. I like how currently the rails are lifted off the body and the cross bars bolted into them better. And it gives whatever is on the roof enough space off the glass. Also, it's easier to attach straps and clamps to the railing hen it's not connected to the body without scratches.
