  1. Escape17, I have looked and looked at the original window stickers for our current two vehicles (2019 MKZ-h and 2022 Bronco Sport) and cannot locate any dates liked you described at the tops of those stickers. The only dates I see are near the VINs. Any ideas?
  2. It doesn't really make a difference. I just like knowing/understanding things. Chalk it up to intellectual curiosity. I've been blessed (or cursed) with it all my life.
  3. So...just to be clear (as I am definitely not an industry insider and don't pretend to know how all this stuff works): The date that shows on a vehicle's window sticker is not necessarily an indicator of the date said vehicle was manufactured, correct? Indeed, if it's true that that date is really just the day the order was sent to the plant, and if it's also true that plant employees may get a string of robo calls/texts telling them not to come in (due to supply chain issues?), then there's no guarantee said vehicle was produced even in the next few/several days after that date, correct? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to understand. Thanks.
  4. Out of curiosity, I used the Ford web site to do an inventory search for 2023 Escapes at dealerships within 100 miles of my location and found only five, some of which were dealer orders that had not yet arrived at the dealerships. I looked at the window stickers of all five. As I recall, two of them had dates on the window stickers of 12 December 2022. I think the other three had dates of 9 January 2023 or 10 January 2023, thus I presume those dates mean that Ford is manufacturing Escapes this week, yes?? Separate but related question: I believe I've read somewhere on this board that it typically takes a couple days, from start to finish, to manufacture a vehicle. Is that true? Or did I dream that? ? If it does take a couple days to manufacture a vehicle, does the window sticker date indicate when that vehicle was started, or does it indicate when it was finished/completed? Thanks.
  5. My salesman told me he would place the order that day (yesterday, 10 January 2023) and he made sure he had a good email address for me. He also said I should get an email from Ford later that same day, confirming that Ford had received my order (I did get such an email). If you didn't get such an email, I would recommend contacting your salesperson to inquire and request a status update. (I don't know how things work for orders placed in Canada. Sorry.) Good luck to you!
  6. Good luck to you, Exit32, and thanks for the story of your order saga. I hope your Corsair arrives soon and that you love it!
  7. I placed an order yesterday afternoon (10 Jan 23) for a 2023 Escape PHEV and, later that same afternoon, received an "Order Confirmed" email from Ford. Yaay. My salesman had no idea if Ford had started production of the '23 Escapes and Corsairs (I asked; he didn't know). I am grateful to everyone who replied with information on this. Good luck to all (including me!) who have placed orders and are waiting for their vehicles to be built and then arrive at their dealerships!
  8. Robo calls? While I understand the term "robo calls" in the context of everyday life (callers wanting to sell you an extended warranty on your car or wanting you to sign up for a Medicare Part D plan, for just two examples), I don't grasp what that means in the context of an automobile production/assembly line. I appreciate your info about production numbers, but the rest of your message has piqued my curiosity. When you have a moment to do so, would you elaborate, please? Thank you.
  9. The last I read, production of the 2023 Ford Escapes and Lincoln Corsairs was supposed to start in mid-December 2022. Does anyone know (and can anyone confirm) that production of the 2023 versions of those vehicles has, indeed, begun? Thank you in advance.
  10. About the seats showing on the window sticker: Is it legal for the window sticker to list an item that is not actually installed? That would seem to me (an amateur, admittedly; I'm certainly no industry insider) to be a violation of federal law.
  11. Let me be sure I understand what you're saying (well, writing) here...are there European Escapes with nicer/more luxurious interiors than are available on U.S.-market Escape?
  12. Yep, the Sync 3 in my 2019 MKZ-hybrid is stable and rarely gives me problems.
  13. It's really nuts that Lincoln is slow-rolling the rollout of Sync 4 on its next-most-expensive model (the Aviator). For Lincoln to expect people to shell out $70K and up for a 2023 Aviator that has still years-old infotainment/connectivity software--especially when Sync 4 is already available on a less-expensive sibling (the Nautilus)--is just piss-poor management. Seriously, someone in Lincoln's upper hierarchy should get his or her butt kicked for this decision.
  14. Any news on whether the 2023 Corsair will have Sync 4? I hope so.
  15. What, in your view, are the "key lux features" it lacks and should have?
  16. I'm glad you received your Aviator. I hope it's beautiful and that you're happy with it. I'm sorry you didn't get the help you expected from your dealer.
  17. I had battery problems with my 2016 MKC and had to call Lincoln roadside assistance twice or maybe three times in the nearly 3 years I had it. However, I will have had my 2019 MKZ-Hybrid 3 years next month (got it in December 2018) and I haven't had a single problem with its battery or anything else, really (knock on wood!).
  18. Hmmm. Is the alarm going off at the scheduled auto start time? That is, does your Z start both its engine (at the scheduled time) and the alarm at the same time? I have never used the auto start/scheduled-start thing on the LincolnWay app for my Z but I do use the app frequently to start it after sporting events (at random times, obviously) so it's warmed up or cooled off by the time I reach my car but I've never encountered the alarm-going-off problem. (Not sure I've helped you any. Sorry.)
  19. I cannot help you with your 2nd question (and I'm not 100% certain I can help with your 1st one) but I'll tell you about my experience: When the 2013 MKZ-H I ordered in May 2013 arrived at my dealership in late June 2013, it had (I think) 35 miles on its odometer and I was told that was because it had been put through extra quality control scrutiny at the factory. The factory was reportedly having some quality control issues with that new model and every 10th MKZ was pulled aside and given a more thorough "going over" and testing to look for and address any problems before it was released for delivery to the dealership. At least, that is what I was told. My factory warranty was adjusted to make allowances for those 35 miles. That is, the new car warranty on it was good until 36,035 miles (or maybe it was 48,035 miles; I forget now). I don't know if that is what happened with your Navigator, I'm just telling you of my experience. Good luck!
  20. I used the X plan in late 2018 to get my current Lincoln (2019 MKZ-H) and I really liked the low-stress simplicity of it. If you are one who loves to haggle and if you are good at negotiating and haggling, you probably can get a better deal by doing that rather than using the X plan. However, if you'd prefer a simple and straightforward good deal without all the sturm und drang of haggling, go with the X plan. I've used the X plan only once (didn't know about it before) but I intend to use it again if I stay with Lincoln (as is my desire) for my next purchase. I was surprised and pleased by how quickly I got the PIN. I collected all the needed info and forms, scanned and sent them to the appropriate email address, and received a PIN from Ford the same day (within a few hours).
