  1. Unfortunately, it seems that there is a lot of stupidity on this site. Fortunately, it seems only limited to this site. In my plant, people are very happy with this deal. Should pass hands down.
  2. There is a lot of bullshit on this site. I agree, I see a lot of "members" saying they will vote no with no reason or a really dumb reason. The negotiators got 12000 jobs but they didn't get me my lounge chair, so I'm voting against it. Just dumb stuff.
  3. Amen my brother! To vote this down and send it back for a "better" contract is a pipe dream. First, this is a great deal and to vote no is just ignorant and stupid. Secondly, we as members, have no idea of the UAW will put us on strike or not. I prefer my hourly wage and the at least $10000 before Christmas than $200 a week on a picket line. Last, the negotiators probably won't get more--they have been there for 3 months and then we will have to go on strike. Great job on this agreement and a yes vote here.
  4. The more information I get on this agreement, it is a very good agreement.
  5. This is good news. We usually only hear bad stuff coming out of DTP.
  6. Has anyone seen the next version of the Fusion? I have heard that it is a great looking car. My wife has wanted one for years but I told her not until it's made in the USA. I hope AAI can start producing these quick so I can get her one.
  7. I am glad for those at AAI and Romeo and Rawsonville and all the work that is going into the Rouge, LAP, KTP, KCTP, etc., etc.etc.
  8. You guys must have a small circle. Most in my plant love this contract. It helps us all out. Work in the plants, great bonuses and help for the Entry Level.
  9. I hope the new language helps us insource a lot more and with getting the national involved it probably will do that. I know at my plant on too many occasions the plant manager and his lackies would throw good ideas away with no explanation. I think this will help us for the next four years.
  10. Thanks Captain. It is true we have given up a lot in the past when the economy was bad. Just ask anyone who was around in the early 1980s. My dad thought it was over, we were done. The union gave concessions. You know what? We got them all back and more. It just took a litle time. By the mid 1990s we were way ahead compared to the early 1980s. This is a great first step.
  11. With all the work coming into plants, you would have to be an idiot to vote against this contract.
  12. I am proud of my union a lot. My local Chairman and reps do a great job. But never did I think the negotiators would get this much work insourced, plant investment, bonuses, COLA bonuses each year of $1500, AWS changes and other great things. I was hoping to keep what we have and they got us so much more.
  13. We are adding 12000 jobs and 5000 new ones. This is great job security.
  14. Yes, this is more than I thought they would get. I am really happy. Can't wait to hear more details from my chairman on this.
  15. I am with you. At Cleveland Engine we are getting new work and investment of $278 million and we are going to add a 3rd shift. That is great--we got work and so do most of the other plants.
