  1. The address is to a mailbox at a UPS store. 7777 N. Wickham Rd. Melbourne, FL 32940
  2. Problem is the strike fund has been used, or should I say abused, by Int'l.. It has become a "general" fund for them to do with s they please. Some mysterious withdrawls have left it with 300 million less than 5 years ago....?
  3. I called on Monday, December 23rd and received my SUB pay yesterday. I still haven't seen my Unemployment deposited yet!
  4. I work at Michigan assembly. If a shift is overmanned and the OVERTIME employee is sent home at the beginning of shift, what is the show up pay for a regular shift that is 12 hours? (AWS shiftsa for trades is 12 hours)
  5. Would you sell your mother for a quarter too? This contract sells out our children, plain and simple! Two tier is what we all are fighting against aren't we? The union used to mean united we stand, divided we fall. Now they want to create a system where we have different classes of workers? If you vote yes. You are no better than the segregationists who split Americans by skin color, now you are doing it based on hiring date...."Now move to the back of the bus and no you can't eat at that restaurant!" Pathetic what true solidarity has become......
  6. I Voted no. I have personal and professional differences with Bill Johnson. My name is Bobby Coleman. I do know one thing and that is that he would NEVER go around and tell people to vote no to save his political career. I hate the fact that you yes vote people are part of the problem. We all should vote this down for the mere fact that the Union and its Constitution are against unequal pay for equal work. No other reason. Ford made a profit this year with everyone at full wages....They will do it again if the product is what the consumers want. The ONLY reason the UAW brought 2 tier to the table was to eventually win the transplants. Think about it folks! Why would the UAW stray away from the strongest company as their first contract target and go after a crippled GM that their workers cannot strike! This was not the Company's idea! My solidarity is not for sale at any price. All the yes votes are the selfish greedy ones that only want to get whats best for them without thinking about future generations. Shameful!
  7. The negotiations have been little more than a conspiracy between two business entities (Ford Motor and the UAW) that have a vested interest in wrenching ever-greater profits out of the backs of workers. More poverty-level jobs mean millions more in dues income for UAW executives like King and Settles, whose six-digit salaries and expense accounts shot up 24% between 2009 and 2010. More profits also boost the value of the Ford, GM and Chrysler shares held by Solidarity House. A little ironic that Jimmy's last name is "Settles" , because that is exactly what he did.....
  8. If King and the UAW can dictate to the company to bring product back, couldn't they have done it without selling out future workers at poverty level wages? What does SOLIDARITY mean anymore? An "at least I got mine" attitude"?
  9. The Local 900 Tri-Annual election results this past week were painful ~ but I am immensely proud of the fight we put up, the attention we drew to the issues ~ the way in which we mobilized record numbers of members to get involved ~ the extent to which we ran a clean debate without personal attack from the independents, make me even more proud of my brothers and sisters who stood tall above the current leadership. Had it not been for the strong arm tactics of the Green Team to “persuade” votes of the part-timers we would have finally installed integrity back into our local. I am not reprimanding or urging any ill will towards these brothers and sisters. I will always believe in Solidarity and we all should be treated equally and fairly. I really hope one day the promises that were made will be kept this time! In this rough economy, one is fortunate to have an opportunity to work with hopes of future full time jobs here. However, the intimidation and threats from our current leadership, has to the memberships detriment, persuaded our newcomers, to vote on the chance that maybe THIS TIME the Green Slate and our current leadership might be telling the truth. It is understandable that they voted the way they were told. As we have seen in the past, they were used as political pawns. We realize they really did not have a choice. The broken promises to the part timers in the past were of no effect to the hopeful. They were used and they knew it, but thinking maybe this time things would be different. The sad fact is now that the election is over and their usefulness is not needed, in 6 months or so they will be discarded by those whom they voted for. Again, we will all see the same contempt for these part timers as we have in the past by their abusers. Truly Sad! Thank you all for the support shown and all the help given, particularly those who had given hours and effort necessary to try to restore dignity and fairness back into Local 900. All we can do is get more involved. Stop sitting by and allowing our members to get trampled on. Start attending YOUR membership meetings. Stop letting THEM push US around. It is OUR UNION, not their personal feeding trough! We have shown them that we, the membership, do have a voice and it will continue to get louder if they keep up the disregard for honesty and integrity. Hopefully, the great turnout and message by the membership will encourage those fortunate enough to have won, into re-examining their duty to the people they were elected to represent, not just the privileged few who belong to a divisive “Team” that views outsiders of their group as the enemy. I still don't understand the concept of a group within the UAW who only favors those within their group. Shame on those who made snide remarks, lied, intimidated and coerced others and put their personal gain over the membership as a whole. Hopefully, you will see how much your naivety has cost the membership and one day put your allegiance back with your brothers and sisters who work hard every day on the floor and away from your own personal ill-gotten gains. You know who you are and so do we. You sit in your executive like offices with all the perks of a company executive to look down upon your peers. Is this being truly united? Every time you look at us, we know you by your arrogance, but we see the shame in your eyes. Again, I say thank you, to everyone who participated, campaigned, and voted. Thank you especially to those who stood with integrity and honor. I hope your children were watching! Shame on those of you who chose to take the low road. I hope your children were not watching! In Solidarity, Bobby Lee Coleman
