    2020 Explorer production video

Can someone send this to Elon Musk? He needs to see this as this is all done without a tent.

GM urges patience as Silverado falls to No. 3

I was driving on 94 to the Detroit area over the weekend and I saw the new GM HD truck. It was partially in camo wrap but not sure why. Man, that thing looks like an extra in the Robo Cop remake. It may be a great truck but if that front doesn't look "TRY HARD" than I don't know what does. For the futuristic extreme bro! It really was cartoonish.
  3. It's my understanding that eventually, chains can stretch and throw off the timing as they do. From what I've read (as it's never happened to me), much less devastating than snapping a belt on an interference engine.
  4. Well, I was going to clay my dads Flex and my Fusion this weekend. It just rained all weekend so no dice on even washing them. I was going to go with the Mother's clay bar kit with a couple bars of clay. After doing research, I don't what to get. Griots caught my eye too. Anyone have any recommendations?

    Explorer ST First Drive Review

I was certain Ford was conservative on the time. If this time is duplicated then my hunch will be correct. If the Aviator GT isn't too tubby, I think it will be in the mid to high 4's. Mostly just a spec sheet thing, as your aren't going to whip around town like that with your family with you....or at least you shouldn't.

    Explorer ST First Drive Review

Interesting, both MotorTrend and Car and Driver had better first impressions of the Explorer ST. They both said it had chops that the Edge ST does not. Check it out. I'll add links when I get a chance. Car and Driver MotorTrend

GM urges patience as Silverado falls to No. 3

Absolutely agree. The positive effects of the bailout are fading away and their back to old GM again.

    Great Article on Jim Farley

Ha, Peter getting salty over business.
  9. 760 isn't bad. I just want to see these on the road and track, as they look and sound mean.
  10. Unless something ground breaking happens, this will be a 4k car. Maybe the Carbon track pack gets it under 4k but the base will be over. The reality of it is, the origins of this platform date back to 2005. Reworked in 2010/11. Again in 15. There are things with this platform that you will have to deal with, weight to support power upgrade is just a given until the get a clean sheet redesign with new platform.

GM urges patience as Silverado falls to No. 3

Looks like the remainder of the year will be Truck months for GM. 10k off to start.

Finally spent time with new Aviator

Ok, my hypothesis may be off....or not. I didn't realize there was such a weight disparity. If a lot of that 650lbs of torque com comes on fast, then it may not be a big deal. We'll see when the reviews start hitting.

Finally spent time with new Aviator

I think I’m more amazed that the ST is just about the same weight as a Taurus SHO.

Finally spent time with new Aviator

Are we sure it's 800 lbs heavier?

Finally spent time with new Aviator

While it will be close, I don't think it will as tough as you think. What makes Tesla's fast? It's having all that torque on tap without having to wait....no spooling turbo's required. If they have tuned it for performance (vs FE), which some on here are saying, then I have no doubt they are going to give a lot of electric assist on start. If Ford is saying the ST is 5.5 (probably a little conservative), then adding 50hp and 200lb/ft of torque should take home much off of that? My guess ST will hit 60 5.3 and GT will be in the mid to high 4's. Probably a high 13 quarter. Again, just my guess but I am sticking to it.

Finally spent time with new Aviator

I am going to say this now and it might sound ridiculous. This is just a guess but I think the GT will be the quickest Lincoln ever produced. The MKZ 3.0 is mighty quick and fast but I honestly think 10 speed, RWD bias, plus electric torque will take the cake. It has all the ingredients to to do it. Pissing contest for a 3 row SUV, totally! However, I think it going to blow people away that a Lincoln can do that.

Finally spent time with new Aviator

Guaranteed the Aviator GT straight line performance will entirely shame the ST. I would put a crisp 100 bill on that one. Probably at least half second to 60. EDIT: I see you mean non GT

    Charges for test drive damage

This^^^^^^^^^. They know they will never see you again and are trying to screw you on there mistake.
  19. Someone said this week they will release some news by Friday. I am guessing it's going to be the order guide. My bet the power/specs will be released AFTER the Corvette's are released.

TFL 2020 Explorer ST mini review

It's the stuff that I check the levels of on my Fusion at least once a month. I know, I am an outlier.

TFL 2020 Explorer ST mini review

I get the feeling that the vertical tablet design will take some getting used to. However, I think once you do it will be easier to see/use than current design.

TFL 2020 Explorer ST mini review

I bet that is a bit conservative. Ford tends to understate performance metrics (other than Mustang).

2020 Explorer 2.3L EPA MPG Numbers

A base limited 2.3 is about 4k cheaper.

2020 Explorer 2.3L EPA MPG Numbers

The PIU will be heavier with all of the HD parts they use for durability. Plus, I am going to bet that it's tuned for more performance. Where I think the consumer version will be tuned for still good but less performance and more FE. It's all a guessing game now. We'll see in a few more weeks. My bet though, is the hybrid will at least equal performance of 2.3 and get better mileage. This is why I think the hybrid will sell like hotcakes if the pricing is close.
