  1. Not to derail, but what's wrong with the Fusion? I've got tires and maintenance on the horizon for mine. My OEM tires are starting to become loud as they get worn down, that's my big gripe right now. Going to change the PTU fluid soon too (already flushed the trans). Almost to 40,000 miles and besides a leaky PTU seal it's been trouble free.
  2. I was wondering why I only saw a handful at the dealership by me. They are the largest by volume in IL. Fix the problems BEFORE they go out is a much better idea than getting them to customers only to have issues. I can appreciate that but that doesn't fix my being impatient.
  3. I had a 2014 Escape that had both front and rear control arms get replaced under warranty due to becoming very noisy over bumps at around 30k miles. I can't remember if they were lower or upper. So these things do happen with low mileage
  4. Tesla is the definition of insanity. It's, rinse and repeat. I am sure it will be made in 2020 and there will be many $39,000 models produced. I am sure loaded models won't more than double the base price. I am also sure build quality will be top notch.
  5. So if you took away their carbon credit revenue, how bad do you think their losses would be? The fact other than the Model 3 their products are stale and they don't have enough money to refresh them is all you need to know.
  6. The thing about this is that attorneys take these cases because it's possible that they will win, no matter if it was intentional or unintentional error. They will make millions while the consumer will get a tiny fraction of what they get. The blood is in the water for sure in regards to MPG for Ford.
  7. I’m actually surprised FCA hasn’t gone in the opposite direction and thrown. a Hellcat engine in the Ram. Seems like it’s their solution for everything.
  8. Well, purely a stunt but it indicates how close we are to a hybrid and fully electric F150.
  9. I think your mixing racing and production car. I could care less about racing series cars. I know that is why the GT got produced though. As far as production cars go, 0-60 tell us very little. We do know the Z51 Vettes can do it. An impressive feat but one that tells us very little other than initial gearing/acceleration. Don’t know how it will handle or how much anything besides the cheapest model will cost. I absolutely don’t expect a base or Z51 Vette to be in the same League as the GT.
  10. Any mention of Ford GT and this Vette need to stop now. Just stop already. Just because they both are mid engine doesn't mean the Vette will remotely equal the performance of the GT. We have a lot buzz with the 59995 base version that won't be 0-60 under 3.0 and have 0 performance metrics for it, besides price. Nobody knows what the Z51 package will cost or how it will handle. We do know that it will be under 0-60 in 3 seconds, that's it. What we do know is the GT was made for a race series and was limited by engine size for it's class. It's nearing the end of its production life and has done it's job. Now, in year 2021 or 2022 when GM releases the TT model that will probably come in around 100k plus. We may be hearing it best GT lap times. Who knows? We know very little about the Vette other than what GM wanted us to know last night. The assumptions that this Vette, which I like the looks, is going to kill it are unfounded yet. We won't know for at least 10 months.
  11. Sorry, I was distracted by the vertical button bar on the right that looks like it is straight out of an jet fighter
  12. Base doesn't look bad either, although I want to see an interior shot of the base. Now all of this is just the big splash but we are missing a lot of information about base performance and price of z51 package but I keep coming back to price. Seriously, how did they keep the price so low. I mean, the engine really isn't anything too special, standard GM performance fair. A loaded Mustang/Camaro/Challenger (not even including the special editions) climb into the 50's. Who wouldn't choose a base Vette (if you don't use rear seats) over those? Where did they cut the corner to keep it so low? As it stands now, it really looks like GM shook the performance car market. We'll see if that stands true once we get more information.
  13. Well the outside sure has Corvette/GM dna. Not bad looking at all. The inside is hideous. The row of raised buttons infringing an passenger seat is comical. I’m thoroughly surprised at the price. Mind you, they didn’t unveil the base model and the Z51 package price which is required for faster runs. It’s still a ways off from going into production. I’m really wondering how they kept the price so low. Basically, if the base model looks the same int/ext with and performance is close to Z51 package then GM just turned the segment upside down.
  14. In Evanston just north of Chicago, I see a ton of Suburu, Volvo, and Mercedes wagons. Now, mind you this area is pretty wealthy and liberal. It is a university town as well. Not sure what it means as marketing demographics isn't my specialty.
  15. The downside to automotive reporting. This is basically an advertisement for 5 Star tuning. Kind of impressed but just shows how good the Ecoboost engines respond to tuning.
  16. Good job Ford! You made national news on NBC. We all predicted this would happen. Whoever got this POS trans out the door needs to be taken behind the woodshed. There are so many documents coming out from engineers saying it was a pos. Not a good look for Ford.
  17. Don’t you think if they were profitable in Q2 they would have already released that. At least a few Musk tweets. They are probably waiting to find a creative way to cook the books and minimize the damage.
  18. Sales is just a shiny object to distract from making a profit. It's a great headline but I didn't hear anything about profit in Q2. Did I miss something? I'd love for them to succeed but I just don't see it as they know how to engineer a great car but don't how to run a car company or produce cars.
  19. Especially for the oldest truck out of the 3. Sounds like Ram is trying to get sales at all costs.
  20. Starts at 73k. Ford isn't dumb. This carbon track pack must really take down some heavy hitters for 95k. car and driver
  21. We knew this was coming. This is the Europe counter part to what happened in the US a month or so ago.
  22. So are we going to assume the Bronco will get a Raptor version? If so, I would think the 3.0 TT would fit the bill. That would be your range topper.
