  1. my 1995 mustang gt, slightly modified , put down 255 to the wheels with 292lb/ft. it was usually 13.5x, 13.6x @ 102, 103. how does this thing put down 270-something and be that slow? simple. it doesn't. not a bad looking car, probably much better than people give it credit for, but i hate all of the ricer math that is supposed to make this thing....what was it?....oh, yeah, car and driver calls it a "mustang killer". good luck with that, hyundai.
  2. bicycles again: trek www.trekbikes.com moots www.moots.com snowboard and motorcycle and bicycle helmets: bell www.bellhelmets.com it's tough to find stuff made here, guys! a side note on american flags...you know those little flags everyone seems to have on the 4th of july? yep, made in china!
  3. look, you can be as "hyper-personal accountability" as you want, but your trust and verify thing can only go so far. i've never been late on a payment in my LIFE. never once. never used unemployment in my LIFE. never borrowed money from friends or family to make bills in my LIFE. but i tell you, and anyone who says differently is stoned: it's very easy to be scammed and double billed and falsely billed and falsely contracted in this good ol' USA in 2009. at least once every couple of months my wife and i get incorrect bills, bills for things we never bought, etc. if we were not incredibly diligent in pursuing each and every one of these indiscretions, we would be broke. my point: you can't put ALL the blame on consumers for the loans. it's a pretty dense process, and once you sit down and start signing papers, it's pretty easy for preditory loan officers to begin the fisting. anyone who has been in that situation knows it, too.
  4. sensationalism. everyone saw the crippling effect $4 gas had on the country. it will never fly, and i think those statements were merely for attention.
  5. cry me a river. it's always stealing an election if YOUR guy doesn't win. hey, why aren't you two in politics? i mean, you KNOW EVERYTHING, everyone else is so blind and stupid... :boring:
  6. rn, i've believed for a long time that the right wants just that...no middle class. that way they have: 1) an enormous lower class: dumb, poor and kept that way by oppressive religion 2) the very small elite ruling class, full of money and all the power.
  7. we all know that the big three have made some horrendous mistakes over the past ten years by not hedging on small cars. but... no one in congress is willing to bring up the fact that asian automakers always have their government to fall back on. they are protected by their own government while we let our companies sink (or swim) on their own. they have their government as a safety net, and our companies do not. i'm not a socialist, but i have grave reservations about letting our auto industry fend completely for themselves when the competition does not have the same rules.
  8. angry left? i like to peruse angry AM talk radio to get some laughs. the conservatives have flocked to rush, hannity, o'riley, and laura ingram(?) and if you want some anger, listen to the "right is right", "conservatives in exile" spewing that goes on hour after hour, day after day there. angry left?? wow. wake up and hear the right.
  9. if this was really about his place of birth and it's lawfulness, i would be fine with it. but it's not. it's another conservative distraction. another way to say he's unfit. well, apparently there are a lot of people that don't feel the way you guys do. oh, and nick...awful partisan for a moderator, aren't you? geez, dude, back off.
  10. but...but....but.... damn it! let's jump that obama birth certificate thing! that'll shift blame from what's really going on to some trivial argument and have the conservatives hot for years!!
  11. too bad. i'll just have to buy a used one to replace the freestyle. wrong car, apparently, for today's market. under-marketed. poorly styled. stupid name-game problems. still, it's one helluva useful vehicle.
  12. i think it's true that anyone who has owned a freestyle or taurus x can't believe just how good it is. ....and people that haven't, can't understand why anyone would buy one. 65,000 trouble free, completely useful miles on ours. it even averages ~22mpg with our crazy lifestyle (kids, cargo, city, hiway, etc.) it's a shame, but that's the world of automobiles, i guess.
  13. yep, these guys are going to blame every negative thing that goes on in this country on a guy that isn't even in office yet. how convenient. damn, this political forum is for the birds. nothing but right wing whacko's hanging out here. hey, what's hannity's username? what about rush? anyone seen o'riley yet? laura? hahahahha. it's a joke around here. just a bunch of guys trying to congratulate themselves on not winning an election. wierd.
  14. uh, then why do they throw bombs at you? why do they hoard their own money instead of using it for the war effort? why should i shut my mouth because YOU say so, bucky boy? more brain washing, and you're the proud recipient. be proud.
