  1. Thanks for the info. Good ideas!
  2. It appears that my Edge was delivered with some pitting damage to the upper part of the windshield. (Maybe while it was on the railcar?) However, one cannot see it, unless the sun is shining right in your face, and you get the prism effect. Dealer says Ford won't replace unless the dealership can photograph the damage. I have no idea how that can be accomplished, shooting directly into the sun. Anyone else with 2016 windshield issues? Thanks!
  3. Can anyone tell me what the vinyl pieces (that hang on the side of the shade facing the back seat) and the clips attached to them, are supposed to be used for? My dealer has no idea. Thanks!

Hey Pioneer, Could you check on 2FMPK3K94GBB41549 for me? Thank you!
  6. My front passenger window regulator went out on me while I was working out of town last September. Luckily, a Ford dealer was nearby and took good care of me. Unfortunately, my driver side front window regulator also took a dive last Thursday, 430 miles AFTER my warranty expired. $300 just to get your vehicle window back up is much too expensive. Anyone else experiencing this problem? My wife and I owned Explorers for 15+ years and NEVER had a window problem.
  7. So, if my wife wants to take delivery of a 2011 Escape in mid-March, when is the optimum time to place the order? Thanks for your help. Love this forum. It was extremely helpful when ordering my '09 Escape.
  8. After having weekly TPS warning prolems for at least 3 months, last Monday the driver side rear sensor finally failed completely. It appears thay can only diagnose the problem when the warning light is on. Getting the sensor repleced today. They told me, if you get new tires and the tire dealer damages the valve stem ('09 has the sensors there) it's $180 to replace it!! Yikes!!
  9. GaryG, thanks for all that info. I will relay all of this to my service advisor. I don't have ANY after-market electronics on my Escape. It's all stock with the Sync system. And this problem just cropped up after my last oil change and tire rotation. And YES, I get the tone and a flashing light first, then after a while, it goes to a solid light. But, I don't get any faults unless I am driving at higher speeds for an extended time. vanman628
  10. I did the same. In one more year, I will break even and have Sirius for free the rest of the time I have my Escape.
  11. Hey, can we please get back to the TPS fault issue? I just returned from a trip from West Palm back to Orlando (avg. speed 70 for about 3 hours) and the fault light was on for almost 2-2.5 hours. Even when I stopped for gas, a block from home, it stayed on, until I tuned the iginition off last night. Of course it is off this a.m. and no light on the way to work. When I exceed 50 mph for 15-20 minutes seems to be the thing that kicks it on. Talked to my tech advisor at the dealership last week, who had talked to the techs. They had no advice and my tech advisor believes that high pressure will set it off, but she doesn't read this forum. I told her she needs to start reading here. Looks like I'm gonna have to run up and down I-4 until the light comes on and then run it directly to the dealership. If anyone has any ideas or advice, please post it!! Vanman628
  12. My '09 Escape (4 cyl) just rolled over 15K miles and I just started experiencing this problem 3 weeks ago. It only happens when I am driving over 40 mph or so for over 15-20 minutes. Had the dealer re-train the sensors, but problem still exists. Does the spare have one of these (TPS) that the vehicle reads? If so. maybe they didn't re-train the spare TPS. If not that, anyone have any ideas? vanman628 Orlando, FL
  13. You are absolutely right! I didn't even think about hiding the small tray beneath the big bin. That is a great idea! And of course, the small and large bins will attach to the console if need be. I had read about storing a laptop in the console. Of course, I don't have to hide my keys if I go to the beach, because I have the keyless entry (buttons on the driver's door). I always loved that feature on my Explorers and it was one reason I didn't go for the hybrid. Shame they don't offer it on the FEH. Still love it on my XLT.
  14. No, no. The little box that you can attach to the side of the console is designed to hold business cards, not the clips. Those clips were designed to press the right side of the bottom of the Kleenex box down for a snug fit in the holder. My 2002 Explorer had those clips also, for the same purpose, but the Kleenex box fit perfectly in the Explorer holder, but not in the Escape. Look at the underside of the arm rest / console lid, near the hinge side. There are two square plastic corner "holders" molded into the underside of the lid. They are just not deep enough to accomodate the Kleenex box, unless you crush the box a little.
  15. You can buy the Kleenex "Juniors" all day long at drugstore.com. That's the only place I can find them. And, I talked to the folks at Kimberly Clarke (producer of Kleenex products) and they are not aware of any change to the "Juniors" box size. They were also unaware that their product doesn't really fit in the '09 Escapes.
