  1. So the minority, trades, should be able to control the destiny of the majority? Ummm, do you know how a union is supposed to work? Also, fuck the trades. Most of them sit around and whine that they're under paid and overworked.
  2. You know what I am referring too. I do agree though, I don't like how the President is "elected".
  3. Walkowicz can suck my ass. All his rhetoric is b.s. The Westside has been doing everything within its power to keep Eastside brothers and sisters laid off. Why the hell are there TPT working and no jobs offered to the people laid off from Romeo? This guy is no better than any other elected official.
  4. theTRUTHhurts? How about the lies hurt? This did not happen period. It's nothing but a plant floor rumor. I'm no fan of Randy or Bob, but b.s. like this hurts THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP.
  5. You're using politicians as your source of information and I need to do research? Look, taking out Hussein was a good thing from a moral standpoint, but Iraq never was never a threat. An American getting killed in the Middle East does not count as a threat either. I am talking about threats to our nation directly. Foreign officers know the risks they are taking by going into certain areas of the world. The people who went to work on September 11th, 2001 were killed by terroritsts, not Iraq. Bush should've taken a page from Reagan while dealing with the Middle East: keep them fighting each other. That way they'll leave us alone and the price of oil will stay down. Invading Iraq just gave the Middle East a common enemy, us.
  6. It clearly states that we cannot strike on wage and benefit IMPROVEMENTS. That means if we think we deserve more, it will go to arbitration. If they want to CUT our pay, we do get to VOTE on it and we CAN strike. I'm not trying to be a dick and I don't like the fact that we are voting for the 3rd time on this contract, but I am sick and tired of all the negative crap flying around. To date, NOT ONE SINGLE NEGATIVE RUMOUR HAS COME TRUE!. Granted, it doesn't bode well for the future, but neither did the concessions of the 80's. All those people who took hits in the 80's made a lot of money in the 90's because the industry turned around. If the industry doesn't turn around, we're screwed anyway. If things do get better, based on history, we will profit from it. Vote how ever you want to vote, but read the paperwork and ask questions, don't just pick out one line and start screaming our pay is going to get cut. Try reading a newspaper also to gauge where the industry is at. Lastly, liquidspine, this isn't directed at you, I just picked your post to respond to.
  7. You're wrong. That would be a pay cut from the current contract in which case we could strike. Besides, we'd still have to vote on it as a membership.
  8. How is that an attitude? It's a fact. We don't make the decisions, we just build what they put in front of us. If our behavior affects their decisions, then shame on them. I know there are people who don't take their jobs seriously, but as a whole the union component of Ford Motor Company is fairly competent. The problem is that one bad salaried worker has more of an impact than one bad union worker. It comes down to responsibility. As a salaried worker, your decisions are more far reaching than a union worker's typically are. Once both sides realize that each is necessary to run the business, things will start to improve. Unfortunately there is a lack of respect from the salaried side for the union side because of the idiots we have and vice-vice versa.
  9. Yeah, then they fired the smart ones in the first round of salaried buyouts to protect their own asses. We got left with the retards.
  10. Just remember people, it was college educated people who got our company and country into the mess we are currently in.
