  1. I just recieved a text that there will be a runoff between Elison and Brad on Wednesday.
  2. Ah one of the anonymous cowards has reared his ugly head again. You must have a wonderful, sitting there waiting for me to post just so you can insult me. I'm flattered and you are welcome for giving you purpose.
  3. Being on midnights is like being on another planet. We really don't hear much on this shift. The one that really suprised me was Elison. Through all the crap that has gone on in our plant, he has always come out unscathed. Apparently not this time.
  4. Looks like Kohler, Armando and crew could sweep the election. I guess there is a recount between Brad and Elison, but no one could've guessed either ticket would sweep. It's going to be a fun year at Romeo!
  5. Zone bumping falls under national seniority, not the way you would like it to, but it does. It basically adds a layer of protection for the higher seniority employees. Working instead of going to a joint council meeting is not skipping, it's working. The whole purpose of the union is to protect our rights AT WORK. Plus Sunday is double time, which I am not going to turn down so I can go to a meeting that is essentially a rehash of the meeting I went to four days earlier. All I was doing was explaining to people from my local why I haven't been going to all the joint council meetings. I have only missed one executive board meeting. "It is not an opinion. You are WRONG, as this is a rule that is complete BS." That is one of the dumbest things I have heard so far. You THINK the rule is BS, therefore it makes it an OPINION. Whether or not YOU agree with the rule, it is still the rule. Righteous indigantion doesn't make you right. As to the people who call me outt, wow, it's a whole three people out of a local of around 6,000 people. Respond or not, doesn't really matter, I'm done with this topic.
  6. So the rule may not affect you, but it's still a difference of OPINION. No one is right or wrong, it's business. Odds are you're worried about higher seniority coming into your plant which will affect you. You seem to be obsessed by this and I highly doubt you are being altruistic. A rule was put in place to protect seniority employees. The membership voted this rule in, so yes, it is right because it is what the membership wants. Maybe you should start going to union meetings so you can learn how a union operates.
  7. Just because we disagree does not make your point right. You don't like the rule, yet it is still the rule. I explained the logic behind the rule, but since it doesn't benefit you it must be wrong. You call that common sense? As to seeing reason, your previous two posts show how unreasonable you are.
  8. I'm sorry. I thought your were over the age of 12.
  9. Odds are the more seniority you have, the older you are and the more impact a move will have on you and your family. I can completely understand your frustration if you're married with kids or divorced with kids, but not if you're just some guy who doesn't want to move. The more time you have, typically the more you have invensted in your family and community. A move could seriously damage, or God forbid, tear your family appart. The house you've been in for the past 15-20 years won't sell, so you are unable to get a mortgage on another house in say Chicago. After putting in 20 years at a company and all that happening to you, is that fair? Look, I don't know your situation, everyone's is different, but to sit there and slam a rule that is based on seniority is utterly ridiculous. Hopefully you'll have some seniority and you'll be able to enjoy the benefits and securtiy that comes with it. Why? Because you did your time like the rest of us. Try looking at this from another perspective and maybe you'll see the benefits of this rule to the union as a whole, not just yourself.
  10. The system worked. The membership spoke. The system has been in place for almost 70 years. It aint broke. The point is that should never have come to that. While the system is still there, the people within the system have forgotten where they came from, so yes, the system is broken and we can fix it. Voting down the mods was a step.
  11. Obviously if it comes down to that, then yes, anyone with half a brain would take it. What this rule does is give an option to higher seniority, what is wrong with that?
  12. That's not how it works. There has to be an out of zone opening offer for the high seniority person to accept/deny. If he denies, then he bumps the low zone person who then has the option to move or quit. It's an ask hi/force low seniority move. No one gets bumped to the street without the option of moving.
  13. The system works.... Look what happend in October. The membership (the governing body of this great union) voted down the last proposal. It works. Follow the protocol listed above. You will see it works. Been around since 1941. Wasnt broken then and its not broken now. No it doesn't, the proposal should never have hit the floor and the reps sure as hell shouldn't have been pushing for a yes vote. That is NOT how the system is supposed to work. There was no reason to go back to the table but they did it anyway. How the hell is that working? And to top it off, it was us giving more up with not even a promise of getting anything back. How is that negotiating?
  14. What if the system is broken? This is the system that tried to sell contract mods days before Ford posted a one billion dollar quarterly profit. This is just a forum for people to vent their frustrations when they think their grievances fall upon deaf ears. As to the negative comments, anyone with half a brain realizes that the internet is rampant with anonymous trolls that can't be believed. I highly doubt those people are being taken seriously by anyone. Politically motivated? Ya think?
