  1. Not sure it is as simple as that. For example, I bought an Edge just last Thurs. I really wanted the leather interior. In the Limited, leather is standard, you get my touch. If you order leather package in the SEL, my-touch is part of that package. So Ford, at least Edge, is packageing the my-touch to move with something as simple as leather int.
  2. Absolutely ridiculous. Fire the janitor that makes 10/hr and hire someone who will work for 9. That way you can make huge profits plus one dollar. Your need for greed is satisfied and you help to keep slums populated. You hate unions yet your sense of corporate greed and eliteism are exactly why unions exist today. You perpetuate the very thing you hate.
  3. Not sure whether one should invest in the stock market what one can not afford to loss. I know you should not bet at a casino what one can not afford to lose. I'd like to think that there is a difference. However when I think of the 6 or 7 thousand shares of F I rolled the dice on (bought) when the price was between 3 and 5, I think that's pretty cool. Hell, I now wish I'd tried even harder!
  4. Ford's guidance or outlook seems to remain positive as they maintain sales levels in the U.S. will be about 13-13.5 millon. However they may be hedging their bet by saying the rest of the year might not be as profitable as the first quarter. ." Based on lower expected profit at Ford Credit, increasing commodity costs, seasonal factors that tend to favor the first half of the year and higher investments and costs related to its longer-term growth and brand plans, quarterly results in the latter part of the year may not be as strong as the first quarter."
  5. http://www.freep.com/article/20110425/BUSINESS01/104250383/Ford-s-1Q-earnings-could-ease-Wall-Street-s-doubts?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s Ford will concentrate on making the best products possible regardless of what the stock price does. Personally I hope the the stock price takes care of itself starting tomorrow.
  6. Seems as though results will be out a little later than usual. Probably taking a couple extra days to count all the money Ford made this quarter!!!! I hope. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Details-of-Ford-Motor-prnews-4235699035.html?x=0&.v=1
  7. What percetage of you moderate repubs agrees with giving tax breaks to the wealthy and making the middle-class, the poor and less fortunate among us pay for it?? Ryan's new budget plan wants to cut the tax rate for the richest from 35% down to 25% and make the elderly pay for their Medicare. WTF is a matter with you people?
  8. Just as important Walker's hand picked boy for his old job gets thumped!!!!! LOL http://current.com/news/93133437_chris-abele-wins-milwaukee-county-executive-election.htm Scroll down and read the first 15 or so comments, and you can rock the Casbah!!
  9. Then it might coincide with when they fix that leaky reactor thing they have on thier hands now.
  10. I'm sure F-150 sales will suffer, but the V-6 models should do well. Ford will sell every Fiesta, Focus, Fusion and Expy that they can make. Fuel efficient Tauras PI could have an impact. Ford will make money with high gas prices. Maybe do even better?
  11. http://www.at.ford.com/news/cn/Pages/In%20Sourcing%20Jobs%20Good%20Business%20for%20Ford.aspx I believe one of the reasons Ford closed Atlanta and decided to build the Fusion in Mexico was to get the UAW's attention that they needed to become competetive with Asian trans-plants labor costs. Judgeing from the last contract and subsequent concessions made to it , that message was recieved. The UAW's reward was more work being in-sourced. Now you have this mess in Japan and if your supplier is there, you're shutting down assembly plants. Bringing this work back on-shore or in-house may now make more economical sense when looking at the 'Big Picture.' For example, Van Dyke Transmission Plant will be building electric drive transaxles for Ford’s future hybrid vehicles, including the next-generation Fusion Hybrid – work previously done by a supplier in Japan. Could you imagine if we still got those parts from Japan. Even the ones you'd be lucky enough to get might have to be radiation decomtaminated if that's even possible!
  12. Do high unemployment , decreasing home values and budget deficits for local communities and states make you happy? You are a true patriot.
  13. http://www.detnews.com/article/20110401/AUTO01/104010438/1361/Ford-to-idle-first-plants-over-parts-shortage-due-to-Japan-quake I wonder if Ford, and other manufacturers might consider bringing more work back on-shore? Maybe even in-house.
  14. Ford has F-150 and Ranger. Some would say a refreshed Ranger might take from F-150 sales. Ford says no more Ranger. Expect same with Flex/Explorer.
