  1. ^ That's one of my favorite channels! Though I haven't watched that particular video yet. Any reason why Ford went with a belt and not a chain on the oil pump? Besides being cheap?
  2. Profile gives me a Range Rover vibe. I wonder how it looks in person, especially since it's supposed to be close to the size of the ESV. (Does this mean only one wheelbase option?) Battery range is rather impressive too. Makes me wonder if or when there will be a Chevy/GMC version.
  3. I sure did. My mind read "Raptor" as simply "Ranger." ??‍♂️
  4. Is Ford phasing out the 2.7EB? This makes it seem like it.
  5. There's no way to confirm this, but I do wonder how many folks come into the showroom looking for a Ranger and leave driving a shiny new Maverick.
  6. And the oldest millennials are either turning 40 this year or getting realllllllly close to it.
  7. The styling of those vans had nothing to do with their flagging sales. They just... sucked at everything.
  8. I'm quite impressed. Nothing about this sounds like a compromise to me, AND the styling is IMO extremely agreeable (especially compared to Tesla and Rivian). Me thinking how I think, I'm saying "now do the Expedition!"
  9. The K5 situation is a little different. "Sedan" is much more widely used than the (I believe) British-only "saloon." From what I have experienced with the Sedona/Carnival, they've been positioning it as the "anti-minivan" since the last generation, and I guess to them this is the next logical step. Whether it's successful remains to be seen.
  10. Me, I see it as Kia standardizing everything across the board, just as how they're retiring the name "Sedona" in order to the global "Carnival."
  11. What we call minivans, much of the rest of the world calls MPVs.
  12. It's the interior they should have had maybe 8 years ago, but considering they're just now getting away from the interior that looks like it came from over 15 years ago.....
  13. 295 in the CTSV, 315 in the GT500. Just read that the CT5 Blackwing has 305 in the rear (edit: right before rperez posted his figures)... apparently they might have learned something.
  14. This segment is about to get interesting again.
  15. One of the complaints about the last CTS-V (at least in a Car and Driver comparo) was that it couldn't put all 640 horses down and thus got passed by heavier and less-powerful cars. It will be interesting to see if this car does a better job of it... but even still, without AWD Cadillac still isn't gonna catch ze Germans that it insists on chasing. Conversely, Mustang isn't in a segment where AWD is prevalent, so no issues there.
  16. I like the specs, but not having AWD with all that power is a head-scratcher. Almost as much a head-scratcher as trying to claim that these model lines compete in a class below where they really do.
  17. The YouTube reviewers are also sharing their impressions. Redline Reviews drove both the King Ranch and the XLT, both with the Powerboost.
  18. I generally like Escalades, and this one isn't bad at all. I don't like the narrow horizontal headlights though on such a big vehicle though.
  19. So someone DID raise this issue during development. FWIW, I feel a little better knowing that not everyone in the building was in lock-step with the dry-clutch design.
  20. I haven't driven any of the newer engines, but the 3.5EB does appear to be better on paper. Ford could easily offer the 2.7EB or the 5.0 as a lesser option in the Expy, at least. They just... don't.
  21. THAT'S thinking! Someone write Hackett and get him on this! At the house we moved into earlier this year, the garage only came with 1 remote. We drive 3 vehicles and routinely use the garage doors, so of course Homelink is a necessity for us.
  22. The only advantage the GM SUVs have over the Ford ones is powertrain choice. Definitely not looks.
