Ooops................ment 2006 Explorer not 05. Can you just buy the Nav headunit to replace the stereo unit? Also can power running boards be added afterwards or is that a option that can only be installed at the factory?

I've read the 09 Navigator is suppose to get a new 6.2L SOHC V8 engine rated at 425HP/450TQ. Is this true? If so guess I'll wait it out and pick one of them up. I always thought it was lacking on power especially behind the Escalade.

Damn you got one hell of a deal and to pay 16k total for a 40k+ new truck. Like ELlover said doesn't look to be that much damage to the vehicle.

Thanks will check into that. Had plans to have the trans flushed and filled up w/ new fluids anyways.

Bilstein doesn't make any shocks for the 02+ explorers because if they did I would of gotten them.

Well the engine weight should be less than the weight of the aviator engine. I just think my shocks are going out and want to find the best replacement.

Do you know what type of shocks and spring they are running and would it be a direct replacement on a Explorer since I'm sure the underpinning are the same on both vehicles.

What is the difference in the suspension components of the two? Is it just softer springs and shocks/struts or is it one is running on standard spring/shocks/struts while one uses air bags for suspension. I just want to know b/c I love the ride of the Aviator as it seems much smoother than the explorer. Thanks.........

I've had this Explorer for a little over a year and here in the past few months it has been surging occasionally. It occurs when your coming to a stop and stop it will start to surge and buck like it wants to go even though you are on the brakes. Does anyone have or had this issue before? I was thinking it could be old transmission fluid, or plugs and etc... Truck roughly has 65k on it now.

Damn the 07 Navi's are hot........... Wish I had the $$ for one, maybe I can save up enough for a end of the year 08. I noticed at a dealer here they have a leftover 07 that they marked down $10k from $51k MSRP to $41k, but I might wait and get me a Shelby before another SUV.

Is it possible to put power running board on a 05-06 navigator that doesn't currently have them?
