  1. Interesting, I'm not sold on that modern interpretation.
  2. That's interesting. I'd like to see Ford try when they are on more stable ground with their regular product lines.
  3. They're not killing Econoline in any sense. This vehicle will sell ALONGSIDE the Econoline. they're not......stephenhawings seems to think so though.
  4. I wonder how or if Ford will market this if it's going to be mainly a commercial type vehicle? They don't advertise the Econoline, so will they advertise this?
  5. Would you rather have Ford waste money on retro-fitting an entire plant devoted to the Transit Connect, and the TC flops, leaving Ford with another empty factory, along with wasted resources? This way, Ford will be able to 'test the waters' without major investment. If TC sales take off, then an American plant will be considered/opened, thus using some of the excess/unused US factory capacity.
  6. First, welcome to BOF. And second, this is not replacing Econoline at all. It's a complement to the Econoline......it will sell alongside the Econoline as a fuel efficient alternative for delivery companies and the like.
  7. See PM. Transit Connect will likely stay, and a Mercury version isn't likely. Those are my assumptions.
  8. If the color is what you say it is, then not in that color, but the car looks good.
  9. You just don't understand...............according to many here, there just is no 'stylish' brick.
  10. Yes, but you can get BMW's 300-hp I6 in the little 1. I can tell you that motor is great in the 3, and could only be better in a smaller, lighter car.
  11. Just because Fusion doesn't sell in Camry numbers doesn't mean it has a tainted name. I'm sure Fusion would sell more than it does if it were an established product. You have to remember that Fusion didn't exist just 3 years ago, and in many circles is still an unknown or little-known name. I'd say consistant year-after-year sales of 100K+ in it's first 3 years on the market is pretty good for a new-to-the-market product. As to the 3/month average.....that's a problem of over-saturation of the market. There are many dealers that overlap each other, thus causing lower average sales per dealer.
  12. Ford will still have "region-specific" products.....they just will be sheetmetal and appearance differences, while sharing the same platform and underpinnings.
  13. I didn't have to parallel park for my driver's test.
  14. I think I could agree with that.
  15. That's not the ad I saw, it wasn't a dealer ad. The ad I saw featured a red Silverado, a black (I think) Tundra, and a white F-150. I don't think it's on youtube yet, at least I couldn't find it. The one I saw had Howie Long in it.
  16. Well, some storms are dark enough to have the lights come on.
