  1. As far as 2nd time with Escalade....by sales, yes, it was much better, but by being different from it's siblings, I still don't think it was there, at least on the inside....but the new one is. The old one featured the same interior as a Chevy or GMC, with some minor changes.
  2. Yes, but the Insignia, on which the Aura is based, was nearing the end of it's product cycle when the Aura was launched, so, now since the Insignia is being replaced, it's only logical that the Aura will be replaced now too. IIRC it's a similar situation with the Astra...., I believe it's almost time for a redesign of it, and if so, we'll see a brand new Astra in a few years.
  3. Many of the cars I described above fit the exact profile you mentioned. 2 cars I was driving next to (a bright green Malibu and a purple Buick, I believe) both had 24 inch wheels and scissor doors. They looked ridiculous.
  4. Glad to hear that you like it so far and sorry about the problems (however minor) you've had already. The headliner issue sounds like a dealer/service/inventory problem (somebody working on it messed it up), not a manufacturing problem. Unfortunately, Ford service isn't the best. I know when our Expedition (04) was in a month or so ago, the service people left some seat foam (the seat motor was broken, so they needed to work on the seat) in the driver's foot well.....there were also a few other minor problems that have slipped my mind. The service problems, while generally (but sometimes, unfortunately) not major, are annoying and can lead to a bad view of Ford in general (I think Ford Service quality could've been a sizable contributor to customers leaving Ford years ago). The service manager did offer us a complimentary detailing (I guess at our convenience, since the car was clean at the time) and didn't charge us for our window tint (there was problems with that too), so it worked out in the end. Sorry for the rant.
  5. Do you like it so far (except for the headliner problem, of course)? I hope you enjoy the vehicle. I know 2 people with new Edges and they both have enjoyed them so far. EDIT: you can disregard the first part of this comment, RTX17, I saw your other post and had a better response.
  6. While the door pull/release remains in it's position in front of the window switches, for 2008, the actual grab handle has been turned into a cup in the armrest in a more traditional fashion....the lower (under armrest) handle has been removed all together. See, this: http://media.automotive.com/evox/stilllib/...08/5od-4/39.jpg as opposed to this: http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/FordExp...06/DoorPull.jpg
  7. As suv_guy said, the black paint on the nameplate is common....but if you take good care of it (not saying that you don't), it shouldn't come off. Knock on wood, we've kept great care of my dad's 04 F-150 and his nameplates still have their black paint.
  8. I was driving on A1A yesterday, there were tons of all sorts of old and new cars (Buicks, Malibus, Chargers, etc.) with giant 22-24 inch wheels driving and parked along the beach.
  9. He's referring to the little Courier, at least I think.
  10. Then you're basically designing an all new car....
  11. I figured that, otherwise you would have continued with the comment.
  12. What do you mean 'not another commercial'? YOu mean for GM? I thought it was good, but as you said, some of the lines were cheesy. "Insert the cube into my chest!!"
  13. This is a bad picture, but had you been able to find a good one, the Chicago Blues version of the TC at the Chicago show had a window in the roof. http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/plu...dg=1&idi=16
  14. I figured that would happen. Good to hear about the interior materials. Will the projectors/LEDs be available in higher-end trim levels?
  15. By my 'is she still around' comment, I hope you know I meant is she still doing her TV show type thing, not if she was still alive. And that's interesting that her accent isn't real.
  16. I don't really think a Mustang based CUV is a good idea either, I just wanted to know what one looked like.
  17. I thought of removing the emblem, but I was tired of playing with the chop so I stopped. I agree with you about the MKS' lower grille.
  18. I believe we will be getting the 5-door hatchback to compliment the 4-door sedan. There's also a possiblility of the 3-door hatchback coming over as well.
  19. Well, it appears that Toyota is able to build a very strong and capable truck with a seat that can haul the driver.......oh....wait......
  20. That's pretty impressive! I've seen a few of them near me......just the truck's looks make me want one.
  21. I suppose with the 'new' Ford, anything could be possible.
