  3. I have to agree with your assessment of Kodiak Brown. My local dealer had an Escape in stock just before I ordered my car in that color. My salesman even told me it was black while we were walking up to it. It was a warm day and it was very hot inside when I sat in it as well.
  4. I'm not sure of the employee mix on third shift but it did start on August 13th. I'd suspect that all of the Escapes being built by all three shifts are being looked at very closely.
  5. I contacted Ford customer service about my Escape which built on 8/2. I was told that it doesn't have a dealer ETA yet and it's still at LAP for some reason. Hopefully ansi789 is right and everything being held will be moved out by the end of August. It was disheartening on Sunday to find another Escape at my local dealer that was built a week after my car.
  6. An update on my Escape. I ordered it on 7/7, it's blend date was 7/31, ETIS shows that it was built on 8/2 but it hasn't shown up at my dealer yet. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks but to be fair my salesman did tell me that it would be 6 to 8 weeks. The anticipation is killing me!
  7. I wonder if sending 1.6L Ecoboost Escapes to Rousch for the fuel line recall to be completed is the black hole that some ordered Escapes have fallen into? Transporting Escapes from Louisville to Detroit for a 45 minute repair sure would eat up some profit.
  8. Zeeman84- Sorry to hear that you've been waiting so long! I'm wondering if part of the shipping delay for your car might be due to Escapes for Wisconsin dealers being shipped by rail? The Escapes that are going to Northern Iowa dealers are shipped by rail but those here in Central Iowa are shipped by truck. I've read that they are having problems with getting enough auto carrier freight cars to Lexington. It's kind like the local railroad forgot about LAP shipping cars out since they were closed for over an year setting up to build Escapes. It appears that my Escape ordered on 7/7 was built yesterday. My local dealer also has two other Escapes on order that were built on 8/1 so I'm hoping that they will all come on the same truck at some point this month. I used to see trucks full of new Escapes all of the time going north on I-35 when they were built in Kansas City.
  9. I just found my Escape listed on my local dealers website!! I ordered it on 7/7 and the blend date on the window sticker is 7/31. So hopefully it will show up by the end of August. Funny but it's not shown to be in the dealers inventory on Ford.com.
  10. When I ordered my 2013 Escape I put down a $500 deposit. I hadn't purchased a vehicle from this dealer before so that might of been a factor.
  11. I'm in the waiting phase of my 2013 Escape purchase as well. I ordered mine on July 7th and I'm waiting to hear from my salesman that it's been scheduled for production. He told me that they normally tell people it will be 4 to 6 weeks for an ordered car but that it's been running 6 to 8 weeks for new Escapes. I test drove a Tuxedo Black SEL 2.0L model that they had on hand and then they sold it to the next person that looked at it. It kind of appears that the ramp up in production for the 2013 Escape will be a replay of the very slow 2012 Focus launch.
  12. Funny that the news article mentions Iowa as my former local Ford dealer (Quality Ford in West Des Moines) got caught doing the same thing a couple of years ago. One of the victims hit the local TV news about her situation and the dealer was out of business within a month. The Attorney Generals office did do something that made it very difficult for the dealer to sell new cars. The bank in that case was able to work out the situation with the victim but that was before the lending crash of the last couple of months. Wells Fargo probably wouldn't be so concerned about the PR now.
