Doesnt change your point really, but thats incorrect. 2010 Mustang was the first year of the refreshed body style but had the carryover 4.6-liter 3V. 2011 saw the arrival of the 5.0-liter. F-150 Raptor had the 6.2 for 2010.

Mark X was used on a concept car as well. Mark IX was in 2001, Mark X in 04. Mark XI it is!

First and foremost, I want to say that between the Continental and this announcement, I am finally starting to gather some hope and excitement for Lincoln again. I fully admit I'm one of the ones that hasn't really liked anything they've done up until this point, with few minor exceptions. That being said, I know this thread will be looked at by "certain" people with great interest, and to you I say THANK YOU! Now, as for the names themselves? I would not only reach into the "Lincoln Historical Bin" for names, but also go back and use a few of the fantastic names that you guys have applied to those awesome concept cars we've seen over the years. (Of course that's saying that you still have the trademark filed) My fantasy list as follows: MKZ - ZEPHYR MKC - VERSAILLES or PREMIERE MKX - NAVICROSS MKS - CONTINENTAL (EXPLORER-BASED) MKT REPLACEMENT - AVIATOR NAVIGATOR - DO NOT CHANGE This leaves a few (in my opinion) cool names left on the table too like Blackwood, Sentinel, and Cosmo (Shortened version of Cosmopolitan, because I think that full name would be a bit too much nowadays). And please, don't ruin a Mustang-based Lincoln with that MKR crap. If anything, THAT is where you use the MK naming scheme as it was originally intended, returning a sporty entry to the "Mark" name and make a proper Mark IX coupe. (That and the Mark X convertible concepts were awesome to see in person)

I think akirby may be right, because we would have heard or seen something by now about a this Taurus in our future here in the U.S. There's already "pretty much finished" Continentals running around Dearborn right now. Let's not forget as well that Sergio has went ahead with the practice of raising invoice pricing on Ram, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep products without increasing the MSRPs on the window stickers accordingly, ergo effectively "pinching" his dealership network's margins, all in an attempt to make up for the company's lousy ATPs. Further proof that RJ's theory of "protecting the home brand" is going on here: The above-mentioned tactic will not be applied to FIAT or Alfa Romeo vehicles. The whole thing is a shame. I wish FIAT and all involved would magically "go away" and leave Chrysler alone to do its thing, so much promise there in my opinion.

Congrats on your purchase, and may you have much good luck with it. A friend had a Solstice, and I remember driving it thinking what a surprisingly competent effort it was from GM, and I also wondered how much better it was going to get over time. (We all know how that worked out) You definitely got "the looker" between the two in my opinion. Color?

Worth mentioning too is how far forward Ford pushed the envelope with this entire class of vehicle when the Fiesta was introduced. These things used to be looked at as penalty boxes, but all of a sudden here was a Fiesta that could be had with Nav, leather, and other items normally reserved for bigger cars. I too hope they raise the bar yet again.

I'm actually that way with both it and the new Focus, preferring each of their previous versions. The grille is an absolute knockout on the Fusion, but I just don't care for how it translates onto the smaller cars.

Fiesta is a bit worrying. The perennial heavyweight in this class has always been the Nissan Versa, selling in absolute ridiculous numbers compared to anything else. The Fiesta, since its introduction, has always been solidly in second place. Since Honda revised the Fit though, it appears that customers seem to be picking the Fit, as its numbers have climbed while Fiesta's have fallen. This stinks because the Fiesta just received a makeover for last year. Make no mistake, gas prices are playing a huge part as well.
