  1. Although they weren’t the highest trims. The 2014 regular cab tremor wasn’t a big hit. It was loaded like a lariat fx4 with an appearance package. I have a crew cab of that truck. IIRC the price on the tremor wasn’t far off from mine.
  2. Agreed. I don’t think it will take much to pass this test. Maybe a modification to the floor pan or like the old fusions, they added a pad under the accel pedal. The structure looked like it stayed intact.
  3. **** Update (09/24/2020) - Explorer now earns top safety pick. **** https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/2020-ford-explorer-lincoln-aviator-miss-out-on-safety-awards
  4. Back on topic, I am very much a Ford fan. I’ve met a lot of great folks that work for Ford and my career for 19 years was excellent and I’m grateful. However, for some reason Ford’s Brass makes penny wise dollar foolish decisions. They are stuck in the same cycle. They don’t learn from past mistakes. Pinto comes to mind. Multiple door latch problems over multiple years and models. Evidently the higher ups don’t want to hear the truth. It’s scary to think these people were afraid to tell the truth because of retaliation . Something is wrong and it’s starts with the top. Do the white collars not have a sense of Right and wrong? Do what’s ethically right and most the time you will be rewarded in the long run. They should have spun this and offered original owners a crazy deal to trade into another Ford.
  5. Watch any court show, people’s court, judge Judy and all the commercials are “have a wreck - get a check”!
  6. I’m noticing a lot of new expeditions here lately. They look good too. I saw a black platinum today and it looked sharp. I did a double take. Been seeing a few new navigators also.

  8. Not sure which one you are referring to. Fords will work above freezing for sure. Tesla hasn’t exactly been trouble free with their handle/latch systems either.
  9. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/11/25/tesla-cybertruck-pulls-ford-f-150/ looks like Elon hired GMs marketing department. But it actually shows how much better the F150 looks.
  10. I thought they would name it model E in reference to the model T. I thought that would be well suited for a new type of vehicle.
  11. It sounds to be a venting issue. Like already mentioned, a plugged vapor canister. What year and mileage? It could be as simple as spider webs in vent hose to needing a fuel tank because the valve on top is defective. It really needs correct diag.

  13. Last AC diode I checked, I checked it by putting dvom to diode symbol (the beeping ohm setting) and it had continuity one way and not the other.
  14. Check the battery cable connections and make sure they are clean and tight. If it’s a 2v 3.0, the starter is right below the oil filter and starters are common to fail on those from oil contamination. Checking the starter draw would be a good start also. It’s a super easy starter to change so you could even have it bench tested. But because they have a high failure rate, if I take it off it’s getting a new one.
  15. Don’t forget if you decide to purchase a Lincoln ESP, you can easily anytime before the 4/50 runs out. Several places sell them online for $100 over cost. I hope she enjoys her MKC.
  16. That is not accurate. The only items not covered by the 4/50 warranty will be wear items like wiper blades and brake pads. They are 12/12. I have always been told light bulbs and adjustments are supposed to be in that same 12/12 warranty. However, I’ve never seen a customer charged for those items under the bumper to bumper warranty.
  17. https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/ford-brand-earns-its-first-2019-safety-award Glad to finally see this. Keeps the complaining down.
  18. I went to work for my families construction and window and door company. I was ready for a change. Jury is out if I’ll like it or not.
  19. Back in the day I had a 97 thunderbird with one cloth seat and the rest leather. I did have an F150 with a Lobo king ranch emblem on the tailgate. If Ford thinks it’s better to fix in the field, then let us fix the damn things and don’t give your dealers shit for QC screw ups. These hoops are one of the reasons I decided to try a new career.
  20. Ford treats its dealers like they are stealing from them when it comes to warranty repairs. They look for anything not to pay.
  21. Things like that are inexcusable. However, if they don’t get fixed at the factory, they probably won’t be fixed until a customer complains. Ford warranty has dealers scared of doing repairs like these without customer complaints.
