  1. I believe if you read owners experiences whom had the recall done, still experience a faulty transmission. FCA's claim that it was a "bracket" issue IMO where incorrect in their assessment. Even with a new bracket and new TCM installed, many have had to have numerous TCM's replaced and still end up with malfunctioning transmission issues.
  2. FCA sold so few units of the 1.4Turbo and Hyundai sourced DCT, I am not surprised you have not heard the noise :-) September 15, 2015 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling more than 26,000 Dodge Dart vehicles from the 2013, 2014, and 2015 model years. The recall is limited to 2013-2015 Dodge Darts equipped with dual dry-clutch transmissions. It affects 23,688 vehicles registered in the U.S., 3,376 in Canada, five in Mexico, and 451 elsewhere. source http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1100032_2013-2015-dodge-dart-recalled-for-transmission-problem. No manufacturers "DRY" dual clutch transmissions are any good.
  3. Another Ford vehicles life is over..........July 25, 2017 Author Marga Bulugean US company Ford announced yesterday that due to B-segment dynamics, the company plans to stop production of the B-MAX at the Craiova plant from the first part of September. The company also announces that over 500 new employees will be recruited to support the needs of the Vehicle Production area. http://www.cvlpress.ro/25.07.2017/concomitent-se-fac-si-angajari-ford-anunta-oprirea-productiei-modelului-b-max/ In English http://www.romaniajournal.ro/ford-to-stop-b-max-production-in-september-yet-will-hire-500-people/ C-Max is probably next on the chopping block for the EU market, as we already know that it is on its last legs in North America.
  4. Info is from October 2016, so it most likely has changed, as on this list the MK4 C519 Focus is showing assembly at the San Luis Potosi plant which has most definitely been changed.

  6. I read that the end of production for Fiesta B299N at Cuautitlan, Mexico (document dated October 2016) is slated for September 28,2018. I am sure since January 2017, details for future and current product is changing everyday.
  7. Two conventional 6 speed torque converter transmissions will be offered , with the 1.0L EcoBoost the 6F15 (same as found in the Focus 1.0L EcoBoost) & with the 2.0L the 6F35 (same as found in the Escape) source https://youtu.be/Mnvz4mSwckQ?t=5m30s
  8. Different characters, plus fill different needs or priorities. Also I understand the majority of S-Max's sold are the 5 seater variants. https://www.carwow.co.uk/blog/ford-galaxy-vs-ford-s-max-comparison
  9. Interior image of the 3 row Edge (the 2nd row seats offer for & aft adjustments as well as recline seat back function.
  10. If Callum decides to leave Ford, I would not be sad.
  11. "Although it is cheaper to build and ship cars to the United States from Mexico than China, "this was not a variable cost decision," Hinrichs said in a briefing on Tuesday" source https://www.reuters.com/article/us-ford-china-idUSKBN19B1RO
  12. Wasn't this test already done? I guess history is not the best teacher.
  13. Your salesman sounds like my brother who is a sales consultant at a Ford dealership in Ottawa, Canada. He makes sure if a customer wants a Fiesta or Focus with the Powershift they know its reliability issues. He is very tired of complaining customers who did not take his advice seriously.
  14. Yes I have driven both the 1.5EB 6F35 and 1.0EB 6F15 transmission and liked them both. Was looking for a low mileage hatch but none to be found here, and to order the delivery time was over a 6 month wait. So I bought a low mileage 2012 Mondeo wagon to hold me over to see how the MK4 Focus turns out. The blemish on the Focus in North America made by the dry dual clutch tranny hasn't done Focus sales any favors, and that is a damn shame.
  15. From owing a Focus with the DPS6 and researching why it misbehaves the way it does the conclusion appears to be Thermal. VW's dual dry clutch DQ250 is a mess as well. If a owner who lives in the countryside, drives 99% highway/rural roads, flat geographical area, moderate climate conditions as far as temperatures, and does not have the need to drive in stop and go traffic, chances are this owner will not have the same negative symptoms. Summer temps, city driving are some of the DPS6's enemies. And add 2 or 3 passengers and it really gets bad and hilly territory also is disagreeable to this transmission. Luckily I was able to sell mine this spring before the warm weather arrives. The relief of knowing this transmission is gone from my driveway is huge. Having owned MK1, MK2 and this MK3 it's a shame as this model Focus IMO is the best Focus to date,
  16. There is the 1.0L EcoBoost offered in the Focus with the 6F15 automatic tranny. It is offered as a very limited spec SE sedan only I believe.
  17. Here are the latest updates to the Powershift (DPS6) extended warranty details 14M01 - DPS6 Transmission warranty extension https://ford.oemdtc.com/1650/14m01-dps6-transmission-clutch-shudder-transmission-input-shaft-seal-warranty-extension-2011-2014-ford-fiesta-focus 14M02 - TCM Transmissioin Control Module Extended warranty details https://ford.oemdtc.com/2082/14m02-transmission-control-module-extended-warranty-coverage-2011-2015-ford-fiesta-2012-2016-focus
  18. I think you reached the wrong department
  19. If it is popular hope there are not issues of lack of inventory to satisfy the needs. I don't think Americans will be as patient as the Euro market waiting for deliveries of their EcoSport.
  20. Also Ford announced in March that they have invested 600 million euro in the Saarlouis, Germany plant to prepare for the next-gen Focus. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/feu/en/news/2017/03/16/ford-reconfirms-its-commitment-to-germany-with-a-600-million-inv.html
  21. With cars YTD sales down -24%, and SUV flat at 2.5% and trucks flat at 1.6%, does not look like Ford car customers are moving to Fords SUV or Trucks. Is Ford losing this consumer to the competition, or are they just not buying?
  22. IMO, the article is talking about a "Concept Car" based on the next C-segment platform, not the MK4 Focus.
  23. No Figo being built. As of April B-Max is no longer available for factory orders as per dealership information. No official announcement from Ford regarding B-Max production ending, but with order banks closed, and no sign of a 2018 model it looks like it is dead. That said the financial subsidies, deal between Ford and the Romanian government is based on a guarantee of so many vehicles & engines (1.0 EcoBoost) per year, which has been modified recently to give Ford up to 2025 to meet those per year unit goals. So my guess is that Ford will assemble the new Fiesta Active in Craiova alongside the EcoSport, and current B-Max owners are hoping that the B-Max lives on.
