  1. My brother in law works at Chrysler in Kokomo Indiana. The have C shift, but most call it the AWS shift. It is the same as our C shift. With their new contract, C shift employees earn approximately $1370.00 a week. If we do not get the same time and a quarter for Saturday benefit, then Chrysler will have the better contract. If you work C shift, this benefit is worth at least $5000.00 a year in extra pay.
  2. I hope that our contract has time and a quarter for Saturdays. If not, it will be a no vote.
  3. Has anybody had problems with chrysler transmissions?
  4. My 2010 F150 with a 4.6 v8 gets 21.3 on the highway.
  5. Overall, this is a decent contract, and my vote is "yes". This contract provides 6000 new jobs. This contract saves Ohio Assembly, and Flatrock from closing. This contract gives us about $10,000 in the next few months. I do wish it gave back some of our benefits, but for the most part I can deal with this contract. The most important reason to vote yes is to maintain a good public image. Since Ford did not accept tax money in the bad economic times, we were able to gain some new customer. Many of these customers are former GM and Chrysler buyers. If we reject a contract that gives us $10,000, and all the pay and benefits we now receive, we will lose customers.
  6. Bass Pro offers a military discount: Cabelas does not offer a military discount. My money goes to Bass Pro.
  7. You need to calm down and respect what other people are trying to say. Everybody has their own thoughts and ideas about politics. I think you should try to improve your grammer and spelling skills. I find it very hard to take you serious with such poor communication skills.
  8. I think a three shift operation would make more sense (first, second, and third shift). The C crew shift would be OK if it was either day shift, or afternoon shift, not both.
  9. Can anybody tell me which ACH plants are still running, and how many ford employees are left?
  10. I have to agree with a lot of what you are saying. I would like to see a third party canidate win the white house. The two major parties are failing us all at this critical time of our history. The article that started this thread focuses on the last six months. (read second paragraph) My point is that Mr Obama needs to quit blaming Bush for our problems. Obama is in charge of the economy.
  11. In the last six months, I have seen the economy crash deeper in the hole. This is no longer Bush's economy. I want Obama to be a man, and say that this economy is mine. He can only blame the past administration for so long, and that time has passed.
  12. I have to say that I agree with this post 100%. I always believed that we should have had a 30 and out policy. If someone can't get their financial affairs in order in 30 years, then they never will, no matter how much overtime they work. The big question I have is why would anybody want to stay past 30 years? I know money is the answer, but don't they realize that after 30 years, that for at least half of the time they are working for free. The first $2500-$3000 they earn every month already belongs to them. Some of these older people seem to think that they are going to live forever on the large nestegg they have accumulated. The truth is that many end up dying soon after they finally do retire with their 40+ years of service, and they are in poor health when they finally do retire. My plan is to retire as soon as possible. If the 50 and 10 program is still around, then I plan on taking advantage of that program when I am elegible. I do enjoy the job I have now, but there are so many other things I want to do.
  13. Thank you for answering my question. No, you do not have fewer rights, because of your lack of military service. The rights you do have are the result of our brave military fighting for all of us. I just want a level of respect and appreciation shown to veterans, and those currently serving. By the way, your list of war heros fails to mention John McCain. I have to ask, why are the Bush haters always putting him down for being stationed in Texas. As a retired military guy, I always had to serve where I was ordered to go. One does not just volunteer to fight in a war. It has to be ordered by the commanders. Now let me give you some facts on fighter pilots. In the Air Force, less than 7% of the force actually flys. This would include all flyers; pilots, navigators, loadmasters, flight engineers, flight surgeons, flight medics, flight nurses, boom operators, and crew chiefs. The fighter pilots represent less than 1% of the entire Air Force. Bush was stationed in Texas. During the Vietnam conflict, a fighter pilot had to accumulate a certain number of flight hours in order to qualify for combat duty. The war ended prior to that occuring. Those ignorant to the way the military operates attack President Bush for serving where he was ordered to go. From now on, when you meet someone who serves, or have served, I would prefer if you just say thank you. You attack me for being "ignorant". To me, that shows a lack of character on your part. One is not ignorant just because they are politically opposite. I refuse to lower myself the the fowl language name calling that you have lowered yourself to. You don't know me, or what my level of education is. I would much rather have a discussion without the fowlmouth name calling. Try to be civil in your future post.
  14. You never answered my question. Have you ever served in our nation's military?
