To get an adequete judgement of the focus and escape, I believe it is best to judge Ford's current position, where they used to be and focus on the capabilities of the product compared to its competition. Looking at sales, the focus and escape certainly are exceeding my predictions, though that has little to do to change the fact that they are rather very poor representations of the quality of product that Ford should be aiming for.

Range, I think it was no question the Escape would outsell the Vue, Ford dealer base is so significant compared to Saturn's. The Vue took a major leap in price, which is taking a while to catch on for Saturn, the quick jump in the prices have put them in a limbo status for a small period of time while public perception catches on.......or doesn't. The Escape may have an overall sales edge on the Rav4 but I would like the Escape to be able to beat the Rav4 in Retail sales and fetch the higher transaction prices the Rav4 is able to fetch, I think that once the Kuga arrives here in America Ford will be able to reach for those goals.

HOLD UP PEOPLE99.9% of the loss came from the NON-CASH TAX CREDIT right off in the third quarter and have NO effect on GM's liquidity, they are not real operating losses. GM lost 23million last year, and that much smaller number is the fault of GMAC and the housing market. GM's car revenue was up 7 billion from the previous year and the 23million dollar loss was significantly less that wall street predicted. So sorry, but yes GM is currently in a better financial state than Ford. Sorry to kill this GM bashing with facts and logic. :shades:

If the refresh Fusion launches and looks like the renderings, I say it will be the hottest Midsize sedan on the market, looks wise.............but trear end needs to change, the rear end on the renderings is terrible, but the front is hot, great style.

I can't sehow you can knock the Tacoma, it is a great truck. Ford let the Ranger die, plain and simple, just 7 years ago it was pushing in the upper 300k's and they didn't take any profit from the truck sales to invest in keeping its sales high..............people heredefend it as a good strategy even thought the ranger sales dropped what 70% since its heydey just 7 years ago......sad.

There was no question it would sport the same profile, The MKZ and the MKX won't differentiate from their ford counterparts like the MKS does until they are completely redone.

I don't believe they could say the interior was fantastic................wit the new sonata interior, the Fusion only beats the Avenger as far as interior goes and the Avenger will get a new interior next month...................most likely leaving the fusion with the worst interior in its class........but to be positive the 09 fusion is around the corner and if Ford is thinking it will have a new interior as it desperately needs one...I still can't understand why the Taurus didn't get a new interior.

GM's mild hybrids are a joke and just for the marketing, But I think you are forgetting that they have the two mode hybrid now............that is a big step above what Ford can currently offer customers.
