  1. I have an Android phone and use Android Auto. Works very well in our Bronco Sport.
  2. Yep, the Meijer parking lot has a Tesla Supercharger and Electrify America charging stations, side-by-side.
  3. Interesting that you mention the PRO. There's a new Menards being built in my small town that is adjacent to an Electrify America charging station. I saw one of the contractors working on the Menards building charging his Lightning PRO at one of the Electrify America stalls.
  4. A Detroit News article that isn't behind a paywall. Production will be reduced to 1,600/week. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2023/12/11/ford-decreasing-f-150-lightning-production-dearborn/71884587007/
  5. Last week was up and down. Monday it was $2.86/gallon, went up to $3.29/gallon on Wednesday, now it's $3.07/gallon.
  6. My first truck was a brand new 1984 Ranger 4x4 with the 2.8L V6 with a 5-speed manual. Standard cab, dark grey with a red interior. Locking hubs. That was one hell of a good truck. Sorry i ever sold it.
  7. The Lima 2.3L dates back to 1974. Variations ended up in the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and the SVO Mustang. They were bulletproof. A guy I know put over 500,000 miles on his 2.3L Ranger back in the 80's and 90's.
  8. One analyst thinks they'll only sell 36,000 Cybertrucks/year. https://www.autoline.tv/daily/ad-3703-forecast-cybertruck-will-only-sell-36000-year-ford-lightning-sales-surprisingly-strong-d3-offset-uaw-costs-with-spending-cuts/
  9. Going to three shifts at MAP was one of the things in the new UAW contract. No timetable was given though.
  10. Toyota seems to be in the lead here, but apparently solid state batteries are not easy to mass produce. This is from Automotive News. Behind a paywall, but the headline and byline says it all: https://www.autonews.com/mobility-report/toyota-solid-state-battery-mass-production-limited-even-2030
  11. Actually 3,882. https://www.axios.com/2023/11/28/car-dealers-electric-evs-biden
  12. This is behind a paywall in today's Detroit News, but it seems GM is considering bringing back hybrids for the North American market. A quote from the article: "General Motors Co., the automaker that has been pushing toward an all-electric lineup, is reviewing the potential of bringing hybrid vehicle options back to the North American market. "GM is currently assessing potential future investment," GM spokesperson George Svigos said in a statement, adding: "No final decision has been made. GM is committed to an all-EV future globally. On that pathway, we continue to study consumer preferences and powertrain options, to ensure we best respond to customer demand and comply with an uncertain, complex and increasingly stringent regulatory landscape for 2027 and beyond." https://www.detroitnews.com/
  13. I'll be following this. 22F degrees is more like the winter I normally see, but even that is warm to the minus 25F I'll probably experience in January.
  14. But 31-33F isn't really cold. Below zero temperatures are bitter cold.
  15. That sigh of relief you just heard came from Michigan's Governor. She was sweating bullets over this one.
  16. To me, not all that bad, but I see a lot of Chevy in it.
  17. Plus the Cybertruck's front suspension appears to break. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Tesla-Cybertruck-bends-upper-control-arm-in-testing-raising-concerns-about-suspension-durability.761845.0.html
  18. Interesting design, but I wonder if that short hood would pass government/insurance crash tests.
  19. Farley said something several months back that one of the easiest ways to increase battery range is to have a very aerodynamic design.
  20. At least for the Bronco Sport, the C2 platform it's based on will be around until 2030. I suspect other C2 vehicles will be the same. https://fordauthority.com/2022/12/ford-bronco-sport-to-use-c2-platform-through-2030-report/
  21. Actually it could. Back in the 1930's some guy put a custom-made aero body on his Model T. Stock engine, but with a different transmission. Top speed increased from 42 mph to 70 mph. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/amazing-1930s-home-built-aero-bodied-model-t.504960/
  22. Yep, just happened last week. GM and Honda were going to cooperate on producing low-cost EV's, but no more. They decided to go their own ways.
