  1. While not a getaway car, this orange Pinto did OK (until the end, anyway). Cars in Film: 1974 Pinto from the Blues Brothers
  2. REALLY like this. Reminds me of the original Cougar.
  3. 2003 Limited V8 4x4 (in theory) I purchased this used a year ago. 4 wheel drive has never worked. When I test drove it, I put it in a dirt lot and shifted to 4 low, and got low range, so I assumed the transfer case, motor and related electronics were working (didn't seem right to go attempt a mud pit in someone else's truck). Since then I've determined that the transfer case does not engage the front driveshaft under any circumstances (either shifting it manually or relying on ControlTrac on a slippery surface). I have confirmed that the front axle and hubs are good, as I get driveshaft movement up front when spinning the front tires by hand. It's common for the 4x4 control module to go out, so that was replaced, but no luck. Another issue that might be related - on initial acceleration i have a groaning sound and associated minor vibration that clears within a couple of seconds. This has been increasing in frequency and severity lately. I read on another board I post on that it might be caused by a faulty 4x4 module trying to engage the transfer case. Since I can get low range, I assume the shift motor is good. Any suggestions on what else to look for?
  4. I want that engine in my Ranger. I'll probably have to settle for a 3V 4.6L.
  5. WOW!!!! Never been in a GNX. I have a friend who has had an '87 GN for the last 20 years. Great car.
  6. When I bought my Ranger (also an STX), it took me two weeks to notice that the passenger-side emblem was the XL one. (The STX didn't have anything below the Ranger text to signify the trim; that was left to the oversize decals.)
  7. If there were a "worse than worst" place (kind of like a worst in show award), the Sebring would have to go there. I rented one on Kauai for my honeymoon because I wanted a convertible, and it turns out that was the only appealing thing about it. It had about 20,000 miles on it and looked and drove like it had 200,000.
  8. Headlights remind me of the Mach III concept (not a bad thing).
  9. It looks like it's bent at the base of the windshield. Profile and 3/4 rear shots remind me of the TT a little. Newer Beetle?
  10. This is a tough one for me. My Libertarian side thinks government needs to back the hell off, whereas the me-me-me side is completely in favor of it. It certainly doesn't hurt that I watched two people in my family die from smoking-related illnesses. Also, it's tempting to place smoking in the same category as banning fat, salt, etc., except that smoking doesn't just affect the person consuming it. Someone eating a dozen twinkies next to me has absolutely no effect on me personally.
  11. Is there a way to +1 an entire thread?
  12. They're still online at http://www.angieandjw.com/expyheadgasket.zip . Feel free to ask questions. I don't have the truck anymore, but some things you just don't forget... I have some others as well; let me know if you need something specific. (Link fixed)
