  1. At some point after the VIN is assigned it shows up as "dealer ordered". At some point after it ships the "dealer ordered" disappears. So it could still be in transit or it could have already been delivered and sitting on the lot. No way to tell from the website. That's just how Ford updates the dealer inventory.
  2. You'd think a person named "Sarcastic6" would have a better sarcasm detector.......
  3. 18s are already "low profile". 19s will just be a little bit lower. Not a huge difference between the 2.
  4. You're also getting the use of the current car as it depreciates and you don't have to make payments on the new one yet. Even if it drops $500 in 3 months that's cheaper than renting a car. Especially if the trade-in is already paid for. And I believe the dealer can use the cash to bump up your trade-in value or just as an added discount if they want to.
  5. I think it means 3 are in transit and the other 8 are not yet.
  6. Hyundai did the test wrong so they were reporting incorrect numbers. Blame Hyundai. Ford did the test right and reported the correct numbers. Blame the Feds if you don't like the numbers.
  7. They panned all "small turbocharged engines" without being specific.
  8. You're not listening to what I'm saying. OF COURSE something is seriously wrong with the launch. Otherwise it wouldn't be delayed this long. But this is the most important vehicle launch for Lincoln since the 2000 LS and I guarantee you they are doing everything they can to fix the problems. It doesn't mean there aren't problems - just that they're doing everything they possibly can to fix them as fast as they can. These are not problems that are going to show up over time - these are missing parts, parts installed wrong or parts that were engineered or manufactured incorrectly. Once fixed they won't continue to have problems. The extra time should prevent YOU from having to deal with these issues after you take delivery. It's still a new vehicle and as such is always subject to problems not found at the plant but you shouldn't have any long term issues. Why does Ford give the dealer cash and discretion? So they can do different things for different people. A rebate doesn't help someone who has to rent a car now. Or extend lease payments. A good dealer will use the cash to take care of you and in your case that may mean a discount. I get the sense that nothing Lincoln does from this point will satisfy you. Maybe you should walk away.
  9. Can we please stop saying "advertised" in relation to the window sticker? Ford is required BY LAW to post the EPA mileage on the window sticker. It's a Federal law. They don't have a choice. So it's not fair to blame any car mfr for "advertising" something that is required by law. I'm not saying that there isn't something wrong with the vehicles - just don't call it "advertising".
  10. 10 is the highest priority for any regular order. Only a Ford rep can set a priority below 10 and that's only done for unusual circumstances. Note that it still requires the dealer to have allocation before even a priority 1 order can be built.
  11. Who said it wasn't? I think everybody would agree that Ford is doing everything possible to get these cars to dealers and customers as fast as possible with the required level of quality.
  12. Leading fuel efficiency The Ford Atlas Concept features a next-generation EcoBoost® powertrain, which introduces truck-enhanced Auto Start-Stop engine shutoff technology. Auto Start-Stop shuts off the engine when stopped in traffic to save fuel – and smartly suspends the feature when the truck knows it is towing. EcoBoost engines use gasoline direct injection and turbocharging to deliver fuel-economy gains of up to 20 percent and reduction of CO2 emissions of up to 15 percent, compared with larger-displacement engines. More than 500,000 EcoBoost engines have been sold globally, including 250,000 in the Ford F-150. The Ford Atlas Concept goes further to save fuel through a combination of active aerodynamic elements that reduce wind resistance. They include: Active Grille Shutters: Automatic shutters behind the grille stay open when extra engine cooling is needed, such as during low-speed stop-and-go driving or while working in hot weather. The shutters automatically close to improve aerodynamics when cruising on the highway at steady speeds Active Wheel Shutters: Automatic shutters in the wheels are hidden to improve style at rest and low speeds, but automatically close at highway speeds to improve aerodynamics. Self-charging batteries use energy from the wheels’ motion to power the shutters Drop-Down Front Air Dam: A drop-down front wind spoiler lowers at highway speeds to improve underbody airflow. The air dam is raised at low speeds to improve ground clearance – helpful for off-roading Power Running Boards: Auto-deploying running boards help passengers enter the truck at rest and tuck up against the truck when it is moving to improve aerodynamics and ground clearance The combination of these fuel-saving features saves more than 2 mpg on the highway without diminishing towing or hauling capability. Work and play smarter, not harder Ford Atlas Concept is a rolling showcase of features that improve capability, durability and productivity to meet the diverse needs of pickup truck owners. Features include: Dual-Purpose Tailgate Step and Cargo Cradle: The acclaimed Ford Tailgate Step goes a step further by adding the ability to also act as a cargo cradle – lifting and holding extra-long cargo items above the truck and freeing valuable bed spaceTrailer Backup Assist: This segment-first innovation allows drivers to back a trailer with the twist of a knob. Ford research shows that backing a trailer is often the most intimidating task a truck customer can face Dynamic Hitch Assist: Hitching a trailer can be time consuming and difficult. Dynamic Hitch Assist helps precisely line up the truck’s hitch with the trailer coupling, eliminating maneuvering guesswork by showing visual cues in the truck’s center display screen 360-Degree Point-of-View Camera: A Ford truck first, the system gives a bird’s-eye view of the truck to help position the vehicle in tight places or when there are obstacles near the truck – such as on a busy job site or grocery store parking lot LED Headlamps and Taillamps: Advanced LED lighting offers better road illumination than conventional halogen or HID lights and lasts longer. LED lamps also offer near-instant response, giving valuable extra warning time for following traffic LED Cargo Box and Side Mirror Lighting: Advanced, powerful yet efficient LED lighting brightly lights the cargo box and job site after the sun goes down with minimal battery drain compared to standard headlights or plug-in lights Hidden Cargo Ramps: Lightweight, durable loading ramps stowed below the cargo box can be quickly removed and set up to assist with loading wheeled items into the bed – from landscaping equipment to dirt bikes
  13. It says 15-20 amps dedicated circuit. As long as you don't run anything else on the circuit at the same time it should be fine.
  14. I take it you didn't read anything about it.....
  15. It has the capability to sound better but they compress the channels too much. Quantity over quality. That said we love the 70s and 80s stations.
  16. Based solely on those numbers - sure, you could say that. I was skeptical of this from day one. But the number of prospects increased by 5800%!!! Time will tell if it pays off.
  17. Fleet Identification Number. That explains it - you don't get that with fleet orders.
  18. Upload the pictures to a website (flickr e.g.) then use the Image button above to link in a url to the image and it will display in-line.
  19. That only works in manuals where you get engine braking. In an automatic there is no engine braking when you let off the gas because of the torque converter unless you're in manual or sport mode. Not an issue with motorcycles since they're almost always manual gearboxes.
  20. But it wasn't there to show off styling or powertrains. It was there to show off technology and fuel efficiency which may soon be far more important than horsepower.
