It's a rustproofing coating that goes on prior to the primer. It gets completely dunked. You obviously need to watch more How It's Made episodes......

Your definition of performance isn't shared by everyone. Hot hatches have been big for at least 2 decades. It's not always about huge hp.

Everyone is biased to some degree, including CR. They're definitely biased towards safety and reliability (real or perceived). They're also biased towards gaining subscribers and sales since that's the only way they get paid.

Absolutely. Your trade-in is actually worth the trade-in price plus sales tax so if you sell it yourself you need to get at least that much. In your example with a 7% sales tax the $27,000 trade is actually worth $28,890. GA no longer charges sales tax - they replaced the 6%-7% sales tax (depending on the county) and the annual ad valorem tax ($100-$400 per vehicle per year) with a one time registration fee of 6.5%. One of the few times that government actually got something right and did something good for the people. Although you do lose the trade-in sales tax discount.

To be fair it's currently at 70% but I don't think it was nearly that high a year or two ago. And sales data is precisely why Ford thinks they made the right decision to release it because it has helped sales even if the media hates it. Yet another reason not to listen to the media.

If you were an average car renter who didn't know there were 2 Impalas and the one you rented was underwhelming, what would cause you to go look to see that there was a new one? I don't even remember the original question. But I don't think it's smart to have 2 different Impalas especially when the new one appears to be significantly better than the old one and very competitive.
