  1. Our local force hates the Chargers they bought to replace the CV's. They have 3 Taurus PI on order to gradually phase out the Chargers.
  2. Last week I traded in my wife's 2010 Mariner on a 2012 Fusion so I could have a sedan for a change. I didn't know about the 2013's drastic makeover and the $2500 rebate was a deal maker for me so I pulled the trigger on a nice SEL in her favorite color. They had about 6 left to pick from. So today I go by the dealership to pick up some paperwork and a carrier is unloading 2 2013 Fusions. I walked over to where the driver parked them and almost fell over. HOLY S%&* what a difference. I love it. It looks like a different car. So you guys debating the merits of selling down an older version either before or simultaneous with the newer one's arrival...you are both right. If I had seen the newer version I may have bought it, BUT, after having a $2500 dollar rebate dangled in front of me I might have went for the older version. I see the merits of both your arguments and basically it comes down to Ford doing what it has to do to make the switch as seamless and as profitable as possible for them. Sometmes the consumer wins too.
  3. Is disappointing to hear the numbers, I rarely see a Fiat around here.
  4. I started losing interest after my favorite driver Alan Kulwicki died in the plane crash and then my wife's favorite, Davey Allison passed away. Seeing Jeff Gordon get stolen away from Ford after all that we invested in him in the Busch series was disappointing. The final blow for me was letting Toyota into it, I was done and don't miss it. Our local radio station that used to broadcast all Nascar races, Sat. and Sun. has now dropped them, so I can't even listen to it if I wanted to. Watching on TV is too painful, especially listening to the goofy Waltrip brothers. And if I hear boogety boogety boogety spew out of the older blowhard Waltrip's mouth again, I will drive nails into my ears.
  5. Depending on what it looks like in actual form and on the lot, we will be looking to trade in our 2010 Mariner on a 2013 Escape. I would go about 1K over the 2012 price for a new design/platform but not much more than that. It is still going to be the entry level SUV for Ford isn't it? We just like the size and looks of the present platform, hopefully it won't go too far from where it is now.
  6. A Fusion Hybrid with gov't tags on it passed me the other day going close to 15 m.p.h. over the speed limit. They pay extra for fuel efficient vehicles and then you see this type of behavior and it's just another example of taxpayers money being pissed away.
  7. Can't wait til they hit our local dealer. One of our families' older Escapes is going to be replaced with one.
  8. All in all a great month, hopefully the momentum keeps going into Dec. and 2011.
  9. We decided we didn't want it due to the royalty fees and threw away all the mail offers we rec'd. The wife listens to the talk stations but not the music and I wouldn't listen to Howard Stern if you paid me to. A day or two after the 6 months expired one of their sleazy telemarketers calls me and I expained I didn't want to pay royalty fees for music I don't listen to. He said no problem, we have a "text" only plan that has no royalties and gives you just talk radio. It was cheap, like 10.00 bucks per month so I bit. I didn't want to give them my CC, due to an issue I had trying to cancel my home subscription a few years ago which was like trying to cancel AOL., so they mailed me an invoice 2.00 charge for that he forgot to tell me about. I mailed a check and a few days later we got some stations, but not very many, and certainly not the numbers I expressly asked were included. So I call them up figuring it's a mistake and the person trying to help me says there is no such thing as a "text" only plan. The salesman was wrong. Actually he was a lying sleazeball but anyways I asked for my money back. She has to transfer me to the cancel people and I was put on hold 25 minutes. I knew they were trying to get me to hang up but I endured. This next lady did her best to talk me out of cancelling and when I held firm she finally asked if I would ike all the stations turned back on for an additional 6 months to think it over. Thinking I am getting 6 months service for 32.00 bucks sounded good so I agreed. They turned it back on in an hour and when the 6 month period is up I am done with this company. No wonder they are going bankrupt. I just bought a 2011 Mustang and it has no Sirius and I am glad. Screw them, I'm over them. All my next vehicles will have no Sirius.
  10. Dealer I bought my Kona Blue V6 from had no 2011 Gt's yet.. They had 4 V-6's to choose from. Since it has 305 h.p. I went for it. Window sticker says 31 m.p.g. highway with an automatic. Less than 100 miles on it, so I am taking it easy so far. Rides nice!
  11. That was cool, thanks for posting it. The Lambo comparison was funny too.
  12. Good job Ford, keep plucking away at the market share increase. Hmmmm, Toyota needs massive incentives to move their iron, didn't the pundits chastise the big 3 for that not too long ago? Gotta love the double standard.
