  1. The bumpers are mounted on brackets that are welded to the frame.
  2. the bumper is put on by a worker with a hoist before the body is dropped. Its secured by automation after the body is on. ^^^^ This right here...
  3. I was under the impression the whole panel would be replaced. I had the side panel replaced on my 04 and they had it a week. Take the old panel off and weld the new one on. With the 15 it would just be a matter of rivits and bonding agent...
  4. This right here...I read where someone had stated that 1000 trucks burnt up...Funny, I never noticed a firebomed wasteland outside the plant (well maybe to south where the steel mill is)...Haters going to hate and for some reason post fake info all over the internet...
  5. We just had new hires come into DTP last week. I think more are coming in when we get back.
  6. nope...every vehicle on that train is being destroyed...

  8. team leaders and tag relief from all three crews will come in for a week of training during the changeover. When everyone comes back we will be split into two shifts, and will run a ramp up for two weeks.

  10. Hell we got people with less then 3 MONTHS doing that at DTP.....
  11. I've heard before that the Raptor can't go through the system at KCAP...Which could be why our production has more or less doubled...Use to be 3 or 4 an hour, now we are doing about 8 or 9...
  12. Maybe this will help out a little... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeMrvLb3QKA#t=26
  13. 1).B-crew always builds the most trucks with the highest quality, thats why. Don't want the O.T. then maybe go to A or C crew. 2).What down week?? We work Saturday the 25th...Days does a Sunday in there and then we work Saturday the 22nd (February)...Didn't see anything about a down week yet. The next downtime we do have will be for re-tooling, just like the extra week in July and the extra week we just had. Honestly, I could care less if A and C crew only does 10 and we 10.5...means I don't have to deal with idiots in the parking lot....
  14. The last one, it was disguised as a current model...just an ecoboost badge
  15. Looks good on paper...But what happens when they speed up the line... Back in 2008, Ford bought two brand new robots for DTP to shoot the bolts to secure the box to the frame....Five years later those robots just sit there because they could not keep up with the line speed...
  16. Let me jump in on this since I started at Wixom... Each car had its own body area in the body shop. They all went to paint on one line. After paint the line was split. LS, Towncar and Continental went down to trim and traveled all the way to final on the same line. The T-bird line stayed upstairs for its own trim and then came down to its own chassis/final line which was in the "room" next to the main final line (big room). The LS/Continental had its subframe/engine installed at the begining of chassis 3 and the Towncar body was decked with its frame between chassis 4 and final line. The frame line went between trim and chassis. That was one hell of a plant...still miss it...
  17. Nope, still there...Getting screwed every time I turn around....
  18. Well, just telling what I heard a few months ago...Frankly I don't give two shits about anything that goes on in that complex anymore...Whole place can kiss my ass.
  19. Honestly...We don't even notice them go past for the most part (unless your the one adding that Lincoln badge)
