  1. Thanks for looking this up for me, cyberdman--I really appreciate this, but I found out Tuesday that the truck had arrived at the rail yard, since over the weekend, I asked the GM of the dealership to contact the Ford rep and find out where my truck is. He told the dealership that my truck should be at the dealership in two days (it's still not there). Sorry, I don't see that I'm "worrying about this too much"--I already Finalized the Deal, with my down payment for this truck back on Saturday the 27th, putting more than half down, and my first payment is due in 17 days . . . Besides, I see it as absolutely unacceptable that it takes three full weeks for it to arrive in the DFW area from the plant in Louisville, KY, when the first order I made, back on August 18th, where one of the options was left off, took TWO weeks to arrive at the dealership--same plant, same destination, same route, same train . . . especially since the train carrying this truck was in the DFW area last week (two days prior to the time I made the post here) and didn't drop the truck off then when it should and could have . . . I am not the only one in this fix, there are several threads over on the Fort Truck Enthusiast forums where this very thing is happening and has happened . . . the carrier is dropping the ball here, not only for those of us who have custom ordered vehicles, but also for the dealership stock orders as well . . .
  2. My ordered F250 was shown on the Ford Custom Order Tracking website with an estimated delivery date of 10-30-18, so last Saturday, I went into the dealership and completed the paperwork and provided my down payment. Unfortunately, it is now 11-2-18, the tracking website still shows an estimated date of 10-30-18, the days until it will be delivered keeps climbing every day, and the truck still has not been delivered . . . on Monday the 29th, the dealer told me that the train with my truck was located in Shreveport, LA, which is about 180 miles east of the DFW area, where I live. I called up Ford Customer Service on Wednesday morning, and the Customer Service rep I spoke to told me that the truck was in Fort Worth, which is on the West side of the DFW metro area, but the rail yard where all the cars and trucks are unloaded is in Mesquite, TX, on the far east side . . . it doesn't make sense to me that a train would go to the far west side of the DFW area, coming from the East, and then go back east to Mesquite. . . I contacted my dealer later that day for status of the truck, and he told me that he no longer has a viewpoint into the location of the truck, since it was marked as sold . . . Given that the train was apparently in the DFW area on Wednesday, I need to find out whether or not that truck is still in the DFW area, or somehow they neglected to drop it off at the Mesquite rail yard while they were here, and the train, with the truck, is still headed west or southwest . . . My VIN is: 1FT7X2A66KED09146 Can someone check to see where my truck is actually located? Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated . . . Thanks in advance!
  3. The original truck I ordered was delivered to the railhead in the DFW area on 10-1 . . . if everything proceeds at the same pace, then it is reasonable to expect that the new order will be here on 10-29, but it currently has a Estimated Delivery Date of 11-5 . . . I have a VIN, I have the window sticker, but I still want to track it to make sure there are no "gotchas", like delays due to whatever reason . . . I already had a problem with the original order, and if a problem occurs here, I want to make sure I am on top of it and get it taken care of so that it will get here in time for that PCO . . . I'm no attorney, but seems like doing the paperwork before the dealer receives the actual vehicle would more than likely be illegal . . . By the way--there really is no reason for anybody to post any further on this thread . . . my points in my original post were simple--COTUS is dead, and for those of us that use COTUS Checker, this is a bad thing. I don't need to explain to anybody why I want or need it . . . this is, after all, a free country
  4. I ordered my truck on August 18th, and had to reorder it on September 13th, because someone at Ford didn't add an option that was clearly listed on the order form . . . there is no lack of planning on my part here . . . however, even having stated that, I am not mad . . . more accurately, I am concerned about getting my truck before the PCO expires . . . if that happens, THEN I'll be mad! I relied upon the COTUS checker because of the fact that changes to the system are NOT just updated a couple of times a day . . . anybody who has used that tracker can attest to that--and I don't have the ability to do that 24X7 . . . while I obviously don't need any updates outside of business hours, it's nice when an update pops into my mailbox during that time, allowing me time to contact the dealer if I need to. Next--in my original post, and in post 13, I made a simple statement about the fact that this is a bad thing for those of us that use COTUS Checker. There are a HUGE amount of assumptions here in this thread based on my original post, none of which are valid, accurate or true. You assume that I am pissed that the COTUS checker is gone--I never said anything of the kind. You assumed that I didn't plan properly, again not true. Others assumed that I didn't know about the new tracking website . . . I knew about that weeks ago--but the COTUS Checker doesn't USE that website, so stating that the new website exists and that COTUS was a pilot is irrelevant . . . Maybe if people stopped to actually READ what was posted, and not make assumptions, things would be a little clearer . . .
  5. The "COTUS checker" checks for updates on ordered vehicles once every hour, and anytime a change was posted on COTUS, an e-mail was sent to the person whose vehicle was ordered. Those updates included things like a change to the status--In Production to Awaiting Transportation, or Estimated Delivery Date. People could simply register on the website, and it would provide the updates automatically . . . now, anybody who is/was relying upon that to provide updates have no choice but to go to the "New" website which has less information, can only find information about an order by the VIN, and can't get automatic updates that the COTUS Checker provided YOU may not think it's a big deal, but I am trying to make sure I can take delivery of my vehicle by the end of October, before my $3000 PCO expires, and I'm sure there are others in the same boat!
  6. Read my original post. All of it. Then read post number 13. Are you familiar with the COTUS tracker?
  7. Obviously, no you didn't, so I'll REPEAT it: For those of us that use the "COTUS Checker" for updates on the status of our vehicles, this is a bad thing . . .
  8. Has anybody actually read my original post? Based on the comments in this thread, it seems unlikely . . .
  9. Sorry, but I learned a long time ago not to rely upon other people for anything . . . asking a dealership to provide me with timely updates is not an option here, because if you know anything about dealerships, you know that this ain't gonna happen . . .
  10. Yep, I know about the new website . . . but it doesn't have the option to input anything except a VIN, and pretty sure the COTUS checker doesn't use that website . . . so, this is bad for anybody who uses the COTUS Checker for status updates . . .
  11. I went to http://www.cotus.ford.com this morning, and got this message: "The pilot had concluded and this website is no longer available. Please check with your dealer for status on your vehicle." For those of us that use the "COTUS Checker" for updates on the status of our vehicles, this is a bad thing . . .
