Because my Mustang is now going in and out of the body shop because of its catastrophic accident (the car is just never right after an accident of this seriousness), my brother loaned me one of his company cars, a 2006 Ford Five Hundred AWD. This is one of the MKS's platform variations as you are all aware of by now. This car is amazing in the snow! Whoever disigned this car should be paid triple what they were paid. This car has 128,000 miles and still drives like a new car with no squeaks or rattles. This car treated the Boston area snowstorms like nothing was happening. It reminded me of the Five Hundred's only tv ad where all the cars were sliding across the road and only mine was working. The only thing I don't care for was the name Five Hundred. I do like Taurus better and when I show the car to people I work with I call it a Taurus anyway.

This will be easy for them to do as half the parts will fall off on their own.

To be fair, those models started as Toyota models in Japan's home market. (The GS started as the Toyota Aristo.) So the did start by badge engineering cars not sold in the NA market. (Lexus was started in Japan in 2005.) So maybe in the future, Ford will do the same when Lincoln matures.

Or at least if spell out Mark S instaead of MKS. that would allow you to use an Iconic name and an alpha numeric creatively. Then you could make something like Mark S6T for turbo or Mark S6 for base. No one else tried that in this market, so ford could have something unique. If they want you to just say the brand name only, then rename the MKS, 48tjhwentu85tu8954thgugth58t. Then You will have no choice to call it a Lincoln.

For comparison purposes... My Mustang was hit by a GMC superduty going 30 mph faster than me. (The traffic on the highway slowed down and the pick up moron was the only one who didn't notice.) The first shows what it looked like right after, the second shows it with all the damaged stuff removed.

Thank you. I own one of these Mustangs with a so called "boat anchor" engines. It is by far my favorite car and I've owned two Taurus Sho cars and a Lincoln. When i bought the car in 2005, the base price was $19,500 (around there) . Name all the other cars that were as fast as that car for that price. Oh yeah, no one else sold one.

But unlike the Pinto, the Fiesta name was in continious use all over the world.

What made the first car so cool was how unconventional and macho it was. Now they are evolving the look to a "me too" luxury car. The front could be tacked on an Asian car and it would look normal where the old front said "Chrysler" loud and clear.

To bring up a different point, Many are critical about Lincolns looking like "tarted up Fords", but look at the sales numbers and the two strong selling Lincolns, are the MkX and MkZ(the very two that look the most like their Ford counterparts). The others are not strong sellers.
