Your thread is what actually prompted me to go out and look at one at a local Pontiac dealership. Plus it made a nice excuse for my buddy with a GTO and me in the Mach to take a spirited drive before the NCAA games started. I made mention about the ADM and I received a deer in the headlights look from the new (younger) salesman. It was an 888.

I went out and looked at one yesterday. A red GT loaded with premium package. $5000 ADM. I like the car a lot. If I were in the market for a new car and I could get one at or below sticker I would purchase one in a heartbeat. But I am happy with my rides and will wait to purchase a V70 R coming off lease in a year or two.

Yeah, I think the old F-bodies also had the .50 6th gear, but had a 2.66 1st gear vs. a 2.97 1st in the Cobra R T56. I've hit 25 MPG in the Mach on the highway on one trip for a stint, and that's the only time I have ever calculated the Mach's MPG. Seems a nice combination would be 2.97 first and .50 6th T56 for the '10 Mustang.

Unless 6th gear (T56) uses the Viper-Spec .50, I don't see a 6-speed improving MPG enough to make a difference (specific to MPG, but from a strength standpoint I'd choose a T56 all day long). The 3650 in the Mach 1 had a .62 5th gear and so did the T56 in the Cobra. I am not sure what spec the GT500 and newer GT's have for their respective overdrives. I thought the GT's 3650 had a .64 or a .68. EDIT: Also dependent upon rear axle ratio. Mach's have 3.55, new GT's have 3.31 or 3.55, etc.

NO WAY!!! Honda has a victory in the last 2 seasons (Button 2006) and as an engine supplier Honda has 5 Driver Championships and I think 5 or 6 Constructor Championships.

I called their complete NASCAR effort (Trucks, Nationwide, & Sprint) more of a success than their F1 effort.

The "extra" online only segment was much better than the TV spot. I've heard rumblings of FMC wanting to get back into Open Wheel in America (Understanding the FMC/Cosworth/Mazda relationship in Champ Car), especially a unified series. They want to be back at Indy.

And as much as I LOVE the Aussie Supercars Ford still uses a OHV engine, and not the mod-motor for their cars. So . . . mostly stock sans (moreso than NASCAR) engine. Hey jpd80 . . . Thanks for the updates. Any word on when we might see the new Falcon Aussie V8 supercar? I saw the new SBR livery, but haven't seen any new Falcon Supercar photos.
