  1. Not sure why people think this is a big deal. Like coupe3w said back in Febuary this will be easy to bypass. For $20 you can buy a skip shift eliminator kit for a GTO, Vette, Camaro or Challenger. I'm sure one will be available for the Mustang. It only takes a few minutes to install. Click the below link. http://www.installuniversity.com/install_university/installu_pages/sophomore_year/cags_slp.htm
  2. Most badges are held on with adhesive/glue, don't know for a fact but I'm guessing the 5.0 badges will be the same. You can use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive/glue that holds the badges on to the car. The heat will soften the glue making it easier to remove the emblems. I'm also trying to decide between the GT Base and Premium trim levels, I'm not big on leather seats. The sound system I want isn't available with the base model.
  3. GM is like a modern day WPA project from the depression era. Seriously though, I believe GM will turn this around.
  4. I'm thinking about fagging-out by getting an automatic Mustang GT. I've seen the '11order guide but it doesn't say anything about optional gearing for the auto. It appears 3.31's are the only gears for the auto. Does anyone know if this is fact? Thanks.
  5. Very cool, thanks for the link. Normally Popular Hot Rodding is very pro-Chevy so I found this quote very funny; "It was clear from the moment we arrived that the 2010 Camaro SS was right in the crosshairs of Ford’s non-Federal-bailed-out gunsights. And while many of us U.S. taxpayers were secretly rooting for the government-subsidized Camaro, the well-represented Mexican press contingent had no such predilection".
  6. I'm with you 100% on the Transformers Camaro, said the same thing to my wife when we saw one at the new car show. Maybe a purple "Barney the Dinosaur" addition is next. I don't think the Camaro looks bad until you see the interior and I never liked the Challenger much until I saw an SRT8 painted B5 Blue. IMHO it looks bad ass in B5 blue. My only problem with the 2010 Mustang is the rear end but it's growing on me. If the Callenger wasn't so overweight I wouldn't mind having one.
  7. Sorry, no idea Nasser was a touchy subject with you. With the subject of this thread bringing up the past to understand the present seemed reasonable. I will now drive a Cobalt for a week as punishment.
  8. Not trying to say Ford purposely produced "ringers". My point is if the vehicles tested have hand assembled engines it's reasonable to expect mass produced engines might not make the same power. I'm looking forward to the testing of an actual production model to prove my shadow of a doubt wrong. Not really doubt but verification.
  9. I agree, I'm not putting it all on him. What I'm saying is the mismanagement started with Nasser. The turn around didn't seem to start until Mulally.
  10. IMHO "Jac the Knife" derailed Ford from the successful path it was on. It has taken some time and Alan Mulally for the recovery but it's happening.
  11. This time I'm going to "fag out" and get my first ever auto trans Mustang, may even look at the V-6. A few years ago I would have told someone to shoot me for even thinking about an auto V-8 Mustang let alone a V-6.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong but the cars being tested are not production models. Not to be negative but I won't believe anything until an actual production model is run on the dyno and run at a track.
  13. Will piston slap still come standard with the addition of VVT?
  14. When ordering my 2002 F-150 I wanted the Sport package because it came with painted bumpers/grill/mirror caps. I did not like the chrome on the regular XLT. A guy I work with had an XLT Sport and talked me out of the Sport package, the painted front bumper of his did the same as yours. My salesman told me about a no cost package for the F-150 that gave me the painted grill, mirror caps and the chrome bumper. I do not like the chrome grill on the current F250's. Earlier in 2009 I priced out an FX4 vs a similarly equipped XLT, the FX4 had everything I wanted/needed at a better price and looked better IMHO.
  15. Chinese owning GM? Maybe I'm crazy but my concern is the Chinese some day owning America.
