  1. I think the Tundra will most likely steal sales from the Tacoma and other 'compact' Asian trucks.
  2. Last gen Civic lost coupe buyuers but gained more plain jane sedan buyers. The dash is ugly in the new ones. I think after looking at it in person a few times. But then we all can't like everything.
  3. Well, there are making use of the "AMC attic" they got in 1987.
  4. Nothing is sacred these days, and nothing is certain. Remember the "Wixom will most likely survive" rumors th week before 1/23?
  5. In the years you have posted, your predcitions/proclamtions usaully don't pan out. [Which is why you're so much fun, I love saying 'actually...'] #1 Example, claiming the Escape was 'a sales disaster' after it was out a year, with no facts to back it up. It's actaully done well and still kicking CRV tail. How can dropping a car be 'confirmed' when its sales are climbing? And who has really seen what the so called Fairlane looks like? It will more likely look like a van then a wagon/SUV. Anway, it makes sense to not have yet another badge job. Save some product for Ford more than the Mustang.
  6. Caddy CTS and STS are 'the best American Sport Sedans". LS is now virually as memorable as the Granada based Versailles or 'Fox' based Continental.
  7. It looks great. Like the 300, Escalade, and SN95 Stang, intially car nuts went 'ick', cause it was 'too shocking'. After people 'get used to it', then they don't want it to change. Makes the LS more and more forgotten and insignificant.
  8. Another article in Frobes, from Jerry Flint says "Bankruptcy, shcmankruptcy". I.E. ain't gonna happen.
  9. GM has 2 RWD platforms, Sigma and Zeta. Sigma stays with Caddies, no "ZETA CTS" ever. Zeta is to be used with the new Camaro, and others, but it is still 'unofficial' Also, it is a myth that the Holden Monaro/GTO is a "Catera". It is actually a stretched Opel Omega, once called "Opel Senator". Holden took it after Opel decided to not make more Senators.
  10. i guess car companies should never change a thing? if they don't change, they get labeled complacent. They do, they are 'mis managed' Some are just never satisfied unless car companies go under. Then they 'know what would have saved them'.
  11. The 'kindergarten' alpha-numeric names date back to the invention of the automobile.
  12. Well, it's just like the good old days of 'anual styling change'. Hey, first year buyers always are taking a big risk. :P
  13. Wow, quickest name change I've seen. I am sure some are going to cry buckets cuz of name, but lots of good improvements.
  14. "which means you get an initial bang, then things slow down dramatically. chrysler operates in a similar way. " 300 sales are still high. Their minvans still lead. PT Cruiser sales, which 'experts' claimed to be 'dying' are way up, still selling 5 years later. [Wasn't it supped to be dead by now??] So, it shows that 'experts' don't know it all.
  15. Do some homework. Nissans 'huge decline' was due to lower truck and Infiniti sales. And no, the Sentra was not 'way off, they sold about 9500 in Jan. Pretty good for an 'old' car. Murano sales were up quite a bit, and Altima hangs in there. Also, never judge a car from a rental experiance.
  16. Land Rover is NOT supposed to sell in volume. It's like saying WalMart sells more clothes than Abercrombie & Fitch. So?
  17. Passat is for greenies, who still think of VW as 'anti-establishment'. When in reality they are as profit driven as the rest.
  18. Ridgeline was supposed to overthrow Big 3 trucks. Yeah right, my #@!#!$!@$! It will quietly fade away like the Accord station wagon or the Prelude
  19. 500 and Fusion sales up. Read the Dec. sales. What about all the unsold Dodge Rams and Durangos? I'd like to see Mopar try to get #2, and then with all the pumping out of cars, they will have all the recalls and quality bugs. By the way, there'd be no Chrysler now, if not for Daimler-Benz.
  20. The Auto New feature says three vehicles mainly lost sales since '00. Explorer, Windstar/Freestar, and Ranger. But they lost the Contour and Focus/Taurus dropped a lot too. Fusion has AWD and Hybrid power on the way. IN case some forget, Ford also sells an Escape Hybrid, right now! So, no, Toyota doesn't have a monopoly on hybrids like some seem to think.
  21. The NMRA, numerous men, and all the Stang mags have no problem with women owning some Mustangs. So what? And who is to say that 1994 will happen again with the F bod having more HP? So many simply think this will be the case, when the ''new'' Camaro is not even in production!
  22. It's the "Mercury Mountaineer" of DCX.
  23. GM's pretty much is expecting the new '07 SUV's to 'save' them. But wait and see... Saab will get unloaded and Isuzu will quit the US market. Buick or Pontiac name will go, more likely Buick since the Solstice is a hit. "Pontiac Lucerne" ?
  24. By 2010, LS's will be forgotten and unloaded at auctions by dealers when they are traded in.
