  1. And us Mustang Mach-E owners are left out in the cold. Like it or not, I still call it my Mustang. Well, not mine since it's my wife's. She does let me drive it to church on the weekends though...

  2. Placing all retail orders at the default priority code 19 means that all the orders are treated the same. As such, it means that the Dealer is doing nothing to manage and prioritize the order in which retail orders are scheduled. Forget that the order date will supposedly do the job. It's nonsense as the reality is that the scheduling system will schedule the order that's the easiest to schedule and with the fewest commodity or supply chain issues, etc. An F-450 Limited with priority code 19 since September 2023 will most likely never get scheduled. You're doing business with the wrong Dealer. It's their responsibility to manage their USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) but they have done nothing! The Dealer should have assigned a much lower priority code and/or contacted the Ford Zone Manager or Regional Scheduler long ago to have the order reprioritized at 01 or 02 to expedite scheduling. The Dealer has wasted your time.

  3. Not a fair comparison since one EV charger can service 1 vehicle every hour, maybe 2 while a regular gas station can serve anywhere from 24 vehicles per hour up to 120 at a place like Buc-Ees.

  8. Yes. Since a rotary dial can't be relocated in a different product. There's no need to panic. lol Now, if Navigator debuts and it's this same Expy interior with a Lincoln badge and different leather, I'll be right there with you in saying that's a disappointment. But let's see how well they're differentiated before eviscerating the thing...

  9. I previously provided examples of the different presentations of the coast to coast screens in the Chinese Explorer and Aviator where they had notable differentiation. How do we know the CtoC screen won’t only be available in the highest trim levels of the Expedition? I have no issue with that since the price of a Platinum is in Navigator territory. Although I would prefer the Navigator have a completely unique interior, at the same time I would also like the Expedition to have a superb interior as well.

  10. This is a reach for an explanation, but perhaps the anticipated sales figures for the Navi do not allow Ford to hit a volume figure for the screen that is satisfactory for the supplier - maybe Ford need the added volume of the Expy to hit the supplier's required volume?

  13. They opened plants here because it’s cheaper than importing. If they’re not careful these plants will just close and they’ll go back to importing or move the factory to Mexico.

  14. The US Government has already warned Mexico not to offer Chinese Auto makers any incentives to build plants in its country also, since both the EU and NA are pushing back on the Chinese dumping product in both markets because of weak demand in China.

  15. Just stop. You’re the one obsessed with maximum efficiency. You claim you aren’t but that’s all you post about. Consumers have proven without a doubt they’re willing to forego some efficiency and pay a little more for more utility and boxier styling. To claim otherwise is silly which is why you get pushback on those statements. It’s borderline trolling. So knock it off.

  16. I see what I said went completely over your head-people will not buy a sedan type vehicle (as borne out by sedan sales in the general market) due to the perceived improvement a two box vehicle gives them when it comes to having a more flexible vehicle that can do more (since it has more interior space) then a sedan. The increase in MPGs or Range isn't worth it to the consumer, they rather have a Swiss army knife of a vehicle then be boxed in to a sedan/hatchback shape, because vehicles are more expensive and people are keeping them longer. If a two box shape only impacts range 10-20% overall vs a sedan fastback shape, people will give up that additional range, even more so if charging is almost as easy as stopping at a gas station with longer wait.

  21. 2024 Toyota Tacoma vs. Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado: Midsize Trucks Throw Down! (motortrend.com) Chevrolet’s updated Colorado is an impressive truck—impressive enough to have won our coveted Truck of the Year award for 2024. It’s worth noting the Colorado and its classy near-twin, the GMC Canyon, were the only midsizers in this year’s TOTY competition; the 2024 Toyota Tacoma wasn’t yet available, and the 2024 Ford Ranger was held up by strike-related shortages. Now, however, we’ve gotten our hands on both promising rivals. We know they’re greatly improved over their predecessors, but can they topple the Chevy?

  22. Yeah, that has been the case since 2003, but then again, why change it now? i think that people do care, IMO there are different segments but as you say, let’s wait for the releases.

  23. So I expressed disappointment that the Expedition was getting the Navigator's coast to coast screen and Borg on GMI said everyone is getting it too so Ford can't hold Ford back for Lincoln's sake and needs it too or something along those lines. Well the new Chevy/GMC Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon have been leaked and teased and don't have coast to coast screens. The Infiniti QX 80 doesn't have coast to coast screens either. I wish that feature stayed exclusive to Lincoln.

  24. Still a huge gap and quoting that statistic is misleading. They should have at the very least quoted # chargers vs number of gas pumps.

  28. Commodity implies a lot more than lowered prices. There is nothing about those vehicles that come close to being a commodity. And they’re lowering prices after having raised prices significantly. This is just a natural correction of prices that were higher than normal during times of short supply. I agree they have to keep the products fresh to maintain margins.

  29. hope so, the current LWB versions from both the Expy a Navi are shorter that the competition. The Navi seems to get a different tailgate design with the current plate at the bottom: not sure if it will get the split-tailgate design:

  30. You don’t even really need to go that far. Outside of a few big cities where public transportation is readily available and you can get away without owning a car, anywhere in the fringes of the suburbs it gets harder to justify an electric vehicle. Hell, here in Northern Oakland County you could pretty easily test the limits of the range of something like the 500e that has a sub 200 mile range.
    1 point
  31. True, but also, not everyone with an EV needs to use an EV charging station. In over 5k miles, we have used an EV charger once (well, twice if you count the freebie we got while we shopped). I've used a gas station twice in the past 10 days with my truck in only 250 miles (towing fuel economy stinks).

  32. It looks like they based it on the 5-spoke Cragar wheels used by the Shelby GT350. The '65 Mustang fastback at the Mustang's 60th Anniversary event had them. Though I think the Ford has been giving the Mustang variations of these modern flat 5-spoke muscle-car wheels even before the Camaro returned. 2005 Mustang GT at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show -Motor Trend

  33. They could have done this on purpose to generate hype to get people talking about it. It's working since we're both talking about it. lol It's said to be a 2025 model year so yeah the teaser would have been more of an actual design rather than a generic look. Is it me or does the roof seem taller and more curvier than the current S650?

  34. They dropped the price on the Bronco Sport this year...its roughly only a $500 difference between it and the new Escape on the low end.

  35. Good to see that the Mustang will survive another year. But "special edition" trim packages often signal a models "end of life"... Unless Ford comes up with substantially more later today, looks like they're giving up on the Mustang.

  37. Check on the side behind the fender as opposed to underneath the dash. May have a cover.
    1 point
  38. It is possible it could fit but the fenders were redesigned in the refresh so it might be off by a little. If you cannot get one from a dealership or Ford parts your best bet would be a junk yard. You can search local junk yards using car-part.com and try to hunt down a 17-20 MKZ that may have been rear ended.

  39. If it's like the MKZ it's really tucked up there pretty far back. Might have to look deeper.

  41. Which is why it would be great if they would bring the Everest here to compete with the 4Runner. Seems like it would be a no brainer since it’s a platform mate and there’s room in the lineup for it.

  42. With Ford building new plants for BEV vehicle production such as Blue Oval City, at some point Ford is going to find itself with excess production capacity. With BEV production plans being delayed, it'll be years probably before Ford can identify and commit to future production commitments at existing plants. Why Ford includes plant production commitments as part of its UAW contract is beyond me. The Flat Rock Assembly Plant has been the subject of speculation for years including the plant limitations regarding vehicle height. It's been the home for Mustang production for years, and for Fusion and Continental for limited years, but its history is focused on Mustang production. Potential plans to remodel Flat Rock will have to consider Mustang production interruptions unless Mustang production is moved to another facility which is doubtful.

  43. Yeah a radical departure although I have to say I don’t think it is a good idea to give. Ford product the same interior design as the new Lincoln. the first time in a long time we don’t see Ford mentioned in a Lincoln vehicle review and the plan is to take away the differentiation?
