  1. Finally got a GT order confirmation, now the killer wait! At least we should see the PHEV info soon.

  2. Does your son know my son LOL. Wife currently has a Platinum Explorer - right size - we only have 1 dog. Son just bought a Tesla so he is pushing those. I too said I was going to buy a PHEV, but I want decent electric range - need to argue most of the time can be electric. I have my C7 Corvette when I need the "performance".

  3. I'm in it for the performance, they had me at 450+/600+. I was set to buy a Gator, but my Son was giving me grief for getting a big gas guzzler when it is only my wife, three dogs and I. I told him I would get a PHEV and now everyone is happy. I have a friend who drove the proto on a track and said it scoots.

  5. Nice. I went with the same color combination, should look pretty sharp.

  6. Congrats. You are gutsy ordering without specs. I am waiting to see the actual electric range. Recent review of the Range Rover Sport PHEV was pretty dismal. If the Aviator GT gets 50km than I'm in. It will just be a question of the Reserve II or the Black Label. Need to see interiors.

  8. Buying a Corvette because of a mid-life crisis is a little passe. I am on my 4th in 18 years C5, C6, C6, and C7. Bang for the buck nothing touches it. And the C7 is anything but an old man's car. After 5 years amazing how often I still get complements and people stopping to look.

  9. Because how can they afford to give ceo a golden parachute when you spend money on products!!!! It truly pisses me off. Ford does this crap. They are such a yo-yo company. One decade they are up high. Next decade they are down low. It’s like someone with a bipolar disorder. They don’t learn. It’s next generation pinto.

  10. https://jalopnik.com/ford-knew-how-defective-its-fiesta-and-focus-transmissi-1836273922 But today’s Freep story reveals the depth to which Ford knew about the problem, then reportedly ignored all that and sold the cars anyway. From the report: I’ll run through a few highlights. First, Ford knew about these problems early on, with one engineer in 2010 saying the gearbox “MUST BE IMPROVED” before going on sale: Even the lawyers warned about it: Ford admitted the cars were rushed into production as it sought to take advantage of a booming sales market after the recession, and against new quality improvement protocols instituted by then-CEO Alan Mulally: And if the cars slipped into neutral at 70 mph on the highway, Ford’s response was for people to just... pull over: Dealers and repair shops struggled with the cars over and over again:

  11. If it’s a legitimate business expense, you’re in the clear but those claiming it falsely run the risk of being found out. while yo may not qualify for accelerated depreciation, you will get any shortfall on depreciation the year you turnover your vehicle.

  12. At least you can pass on an Ecosport to someone else, with a Powershift, you're wedlocked until one of you dies.

  13. I'm sure the bean counters said NO to replacing the Powershift with a conventional 6 speed auto when it started having problems to save engineering costs, but doing that probably would have saved them millions in the long run. Not to mention the cost of losing your reputation with customers.
