  1. Ordered my ST yesterday. With tech & performance. Appears to be one hot ride!

  2. The return-lease vehicles are often resold as "certified used vehicles." Most likely the third owners are the ones left holding the bag.

  3. Its not so much who will build what, but how both companies will share infrastructure in the world of EV charging stations.

  4. When I was cross-shopping the Jaguar F-Pace and Range Rover Velar (I ended up going with the Lincoln Nautilus 2.7) I spent a lot of time on the F-Pace and Velar boards. They were full of enthusiasts who loved their vehicles (and they are each terrific crossovers in their own way), despite the many frustrations over the numerous glitches, primarily electric- or infotainment-related, that they needed to keep having to have worked on under the warranty. To a person, however, folks on the boards agreed that they would never lease or own a JLR vehicle past its warranty. Those, I guess, go to a different sort of person -- because obviously, *someone* is going to end up owning that vehicle after its warranty is over.

  5. Explorer hasn't strayed far from its' 4 door SUV roots though. GM faithful are a different animal. To them Blazer = massive 2 door SUV (OJ bronco type). Putting that name on a "wimpy" midsize FWD crossover = sacrilege. Couple that with it being expensive, and that's not a good recipe.

  6. Nice looking when equipped right but equipped right its just to expensive compared to the competition.

  7. I don't think the name is a problem. That's not worked against the Explorer. IMO, the whole package is weak. Appearance, price, quality etc. Its a very competitive segment and some competitive products are just appealing.

  8. I honestly dont think the interior looks dated in the Ranger. I think it looks great, especially against what the competition offers.Sure the Tacoma looks more "futuristic", but not necessarily better. The Colorado / Canyon looks like it was designed in the 90's (and the Frontier probably was!). I think we are just so used the same corporate design elements of the Ranger interior, we see it as old, but the public doesn't share the same insight we do. The worst part of the design is the HVAC controls which are too low and have too tiny black buttons against a black background. The mirror controls could be better placed as well. Otherwise, it is a nice handsome design. Ranger Tacoma Colorado Frontier

  9. You must be reading that incorrectly. Everyone knows that sedans don't sell.

  11. Thats the beauty of F-Series trucks...it can dominate in both fleet sales and individual "luxury" sales....if it was only luxury sales that mattered, Lincoln Mark LT would have been much more popular.

  12. I'd love to see the actual numbers on all this money people around here claim Ford loses on the Fusion. Heck average hourly pay for auto assembly in Mexico is somewhere between $3.50 to $7.00 an hour. It also could be given a pretty decent economical refresh without a new platform. We saw Ford do this a few times when money was tight back in the late 00's. Anyhow it's a successful nameplate and they should build on that. Will these new vehicles they have planned going up against tough competition with more respected nameplates in their segment will do well? So far the new Ranger isn't selling very well so I hope things go better for other new models they have planned. I sure like my new Ranger, but it seems to have fell flat on it's face in a tough midsized truck market. Hopefully generous incentives and more promotions will get it moving off the lots.

  13. It's amazing what cheap will do. It's also a damn shame that the POS Ram is 2nd place. GM better wake up and figure things out to get back into #2. Hopefully the next F150 will be even better and take Ford's lead further. The only good thing is that a lot due to the lack of quality in Ram, those Ram sales today will be Ford, GM, and everyone else in the future.

  14. Cooling was a big issue wasn’t it?. IIRC there was a fluid flow restriction. That was a 30k service trans at the longest interval. Adding an aftermarket cooler allegedly expanded the life. The oem cooler was one tube with fins on it and a radiator side tank.

  15. I can agree with that. However, for a customers standpoint. That trans feels normal when working correctly and can be “fixed” compared to the DCT. Fortunately the 6f35 has been updated to where the failures are slowing down for us. 2009 escapes where an embarrassment. We had 6F35s for months and no parts or units to fix with. Lots of tow behind rv units melted down. At least currently the 6f35 is cheap to build and has a party pack. Not sure about the 6f15, haven’t had much experience yet. As we have discussed, too much heat and too much torque converter useage. My 15 escape has that damn harsh 2-3 up shift, mainly when cold, but I’m waiting on it to give me a good reason to party pack it. 2.0 awd isn’t much of a party to do.

  16. I asterisked it, but just want to point it out again - that 5,838 number is for all of Q2, not just the month of June. I don't have a monthly break down of the Heavy trucks, but need to include them each quarter to accurately reflect Ford's overall volume. Explorer sales would also be affected by the plant changeover.

  17. Ford not offering a lot of incentives on run out Explorer, you see that when they're building new model inventory that's mostly high series

  22. Great news! I finally found the Speedometer! It is in the hybrid! It's on the LEFT side of the screen and you have to use the up/down buttons under driver display settings to find it. So happy!
