NHRA's Factory Stock class should become the new Pro Stock class. It reminds me of the early days of Pro Stock with the factory support and stock body cars.2 points

People have wondered for years why no other manufacturer has challenged Jeep. GM tried, with Hummer, but that brand didn't survive bankruptcy. Ford has an enormous opportunity to shake things up with the Bronco(s). I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have planned.2 points

It's a shame that politics is killing such a good racing program/series.1 point

As much as I have loved Pro Stock racing, especially during the Bob Glidden days this new class (2019 SAMTech.edu NHRA Factory Stock) is reminding me more of what I enjoyed so much, the Big 3 battling it out on the dragstrip for quarter mile supremacy, and me cheering on the Cobra Jets to edge out the COPOs and Mopar Drag Paks!1 point

Looks roughly NG Escape sized to my eyes. Don't care for the long flat hood. Should be shorter and front wheels pushed forward more. Even comparing to the Corsair, that hood just looks like its the wrong proportions.1 point

Granted. Jeep has history. But the Ford Bronco has almost as much history there. Ford matched or even beat Jeep with the original Bronco. If Ford does this right, they can capitalize on their existing history and expand. I don't think any other manufacturer has as good a chance to take on Jeep's following like Ford. IF done properly...1 point

In broader theme, absolutely. In the intended context, I believe that 2007's MKR concept gets credit as the first. It's interesting that they bounced between design directions in the concepts from the Sentinel, to the MK9, to the Navicross. I still wish more focus had gone into the eggcrate treatment that only saw life in the gen 1 MKX.1 point

There's no way a Ford/FCA merger could happen; neither the Ford nor Agnelli families are willing to give up control of their respective family companies.1 point

"Dead" Chrysler sells more units with a stale sedan and a minivan than Lincoln does with six models with four of them in the hot CUV/SUV segments. In a bizarre way, they have my respect for that. But on the bright side, Lincoln seems to be on its way to a bright future with surprisingly good products, while Chrysler is barely discussed by FCA. So in that respect, I agree, Chrysler may be dead soon.1 point

I don't understand why they talked about the interiors in the review of each, and then didn't include any interior photos at all.1 point

I get the feeling that the vertical tablet design will take some getting used to. However, I think once you do it will be easier to see/use than current design.1 point

I don't mind them but I've seen a couple of new cars recently that had the wider shorter screen integrated into the dash and it looked really good. Can't remember which one exactly.1 point

Ford FCA combo would have dominated truck and van sales in the US and Canada so it would have a very difficult review by the Justice Department and whatever the Canadian Govt has to do. But it probably would have passed with some minor concession because the number of viable competitors remaining. And the combined company would be a force to be reckon with F-150 and Ram driving profits like no other, and Ford and Jeep SUV leading the segments. It's not a bad idea to kick the tires again now that Sergio (may he RIP) is no longer in the picture.1 point

Why would Ford want the POS that is FCA? They have had more partners than a $2 hooker and each and every one of them has failed. Ford can do performance and has a much better brand image in Mustang than the Dodge stuff. Ram trucks, while nice interiors are junk the whole way through. Jeep is cooling off. Stick a fork in Chrysler. Maserati - Ford tried that and sold them all off. Alfa - not really going anywhere Fiat - same thing. Ford would be best to go at it alone. Any merger would have the family ceding control which they probably won't do. They need to keep the laser focus on product and quality.1 point

His 'quiet flight' design helped Lincoln get back in the game. Now I'm ready for Lincoln to make some noise!1 point

Could be health, family or other personal reasons or maybe he got a can't refuse offer from another company. If there was some internal problem with Lincoln I think we would have heard something about it.1 point
