My sources say continuing talk about Bronco delays is utter BS, no delays in project since begun in 2016, this has all been about other people’s assumptions and expectations. Handover of Bronco to Nth America is coming due and will note the final stages of the project - people will be amazed when they see it the 60s styling elements really work.

It needs to look like the original model, nothing like the F150 version made famous by O.J.. Ford might be wise to go strongly retro on the first model, and gradually make it somewhat more modern over time, like it has been able to do with the Mustang over several generations.

The Fusion is still a good looking car, although the interior could use a little update. I still enjoy driving my 2016 work car. It’s a solid vehicle, and I think it has aged well. For somebody new to the vehicle it probably works, but getting somebody to upgrade from their existing Fusion to a newer model is where the problem lies as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve always liked the switches in the mustang (the ones by the start button). I think at one point the raptor had some switches too. I hope the bronco incorporates them into the interior.

I guess it depends on the market ford sees for this vehicle. I always saw the bronco as a niche vehicle like the raptor. If that’s the case, then throw general appeal out the window and cater to your target market. You wouldn’t want a bunch of Prius or minivan drivers determining the looks of an off-road vehicle. if however ford sees the bronco as having more mass market appeal, what you are saying makes sense. Mass market appeal usually means bland and boring though so I’m afraid of what this will mean for the bronco.

Exactly, but at the same time it needs to be different from the rest of the lineup styling wise. IMO It needs to be "boxy", have a front end similar to the 1st gen Bronco, and have some sort of removable roof option. Rear mounted wheel I can give or take..doesn't matter to me. As for Boxy styling, I'm thinking more like the F-150, but without copying its styling cues like lights or tailights. The Bronco should have its own look when it comes to that. I hope the dash looks similar to the 1st gen Bronco, but modernized. Using the dash out of the Ranger would be a disappointment. I see the Scout closer to the Toyota FT-more smoother then boxier like the Bronco. From what we saw of the prototype, I think they nailed that segment it will be in.

Part of me loves the "sleeper" look of my Fusion Sport, I have surprised a lot of people with it. But, a sportier "ST" styled Fusion would have been nice too.

My dad wants to get a new Fusion. He's always owned a Ford car since he was young and he's 82 now so he said it'll probably be his last new car. The CUV/SUV stuff does not interest him at all no matter how much I tell him how easy they are to get into for older people. Nope! He likes sedans and pickups. That's it! Old people can be stubborn, but his 2007 Fusion has been a great car and is still mint condition. I think he'll probably pretty much just give it (sell it cheap) to his grandson for college. Anyhow as I was helping him look at them I was blown away by how good of a value the SE is for the equipment it offers. Maybe if Ford would have made stripped models that turned people off at the lower end they'd sell a few more higher trim ones. Anyhow he doesn't need a real "fast" car and wants good MPG. He also has an F150 4x4 so he doesn't care about AWD. I told him the basic SE with the 1.5 EcoBoost is a good value for a nicely equipped car. It's probably the model I'd recommend to anyone wanting a Fusion who also wants a good value.

I would argue they didn’t even try to compete. You can’t let vehicles die on the vine and expect people will want to buy them. The 2013 Fusion was a very competitive entry into the midsize market. Unfortunately today’s Fusion is essentially the same car as the 2013. Ford has a bad history of doing this, and it is hard to understand why.

It seems unlikely that it happened that way at all, but even if it did, it's waaaaay over the top and takes you out of the moment. It's just...jarring. Hopefully, the director will figure that out and get rid of it. That's something a Millennial or maybe a Gen Xer, might expect from a man of HF2's generation, but none of the WWII vets or Great Depression survivors I knew would ever react like that to something worthy of tears, let alone something as inconsequential as a car ride--and thanks in part to my mom's family being very long-lived and the places I hung out in my 20s, I got to meet quite a few of them over the years. Hell's bells, look at what Jimmy Stewart crying did to the movie It's a Wonderful Life, and he wasn't even blubbering; those vets and survivors shunned it for 30 years... ETA: that's not a put-down of Millennials or Gen X; they're just young enough that they didn't get to meet those folks, so they don't really know how they would've acted, and the world is a very different place than it was even 25 years ago.

yep, I think the rav4 xse hybrid is the best looking in the segment right now, and it also gets 41 mpg. If the bronco scout doesn’t work out, this will probably be at the top of my list.

Was it the old one or new one? New ones I've had for rentals are actually really nice. That and the Forester are probably the best rentals I get in that class, the old one however was really bad. Have a Blazer this week, drives really nice but the interior is mid 90's GM at its finest and is a little spartan on features even for a rental car trim level. I still like the Fusion Hybrid rental, drives nice and gets good mileage.

Don’t understand this, had a RAV as a rental for a month, it was not as nice as our Escape. Not as quiet and not as quick. Would never pick it over the escape

I'm surprised there's a 2020 Fusion. Maybe prime motivators are dealers complained that some Ford buyers don't want SUVs, nothing inexpensive to sell (as someone mentioned the Focus was expensive to make in the US and same with the Taurus with an old platform) and FCA, GM still continues Malibu and Charger. Will it be a redesign soon?.

Ford didn't help matters by letting the car go too long without a complete makeover. People who fork over money for the top-of-the-line (and more profitable) models expect fresh sheet metal. They don't want a car that looks like the one their neighbor bought five years ago.

When someone comes to a forum for the sole purpose of venting their frustration and declaring they'll never buy another Ford that's trolling. If you had come here and said hey I'm having real problems with this buyback and gave details and/or asked for advice you would have been received with open arms and sympathy. It's all in the presentation.

We seemed to have stepped it up in body shop the last week or so. Now I get why.
