  1. The enthusiasts are the ones that pay attention to where vehicles are built, the tariff implications, etc. The usual customers have no clue and could care less about where the vehicle is built as their primary concern is the purchase or lease cost/payment and whether it fits their budget.

  2. So you can get an MkZ with more hp than CTS-V. Let that sink in...

  3. I could understand a Dealer using a $10,000 ADM for a Shelby, which is common considering the majority of Dealers can only get one Shelby per year but you're saying they're using a $50,000 ADM? Well maybe you have some axe to grind with Quirk Ford but out of curiosity I just went to their website. They have two Shelby's online... a GT350 listed at $5,000 over MSRP and a GT350R at $10,000 over MSRP which is reasonable considering the supply/demand situation especially for a GT350R. So whatever your problem is with Quirk Ford, at least get your facts straight! And before you try to walk back your claims, I've attached the screen image from Quirk Ford's website with their advertised prices for the 2 Shelby's in stock along with the Window Stickers. Yes, there are Dealers that use questionable business practices and hurt the reputation of all other dealerships but your unfounded claims do just as much damage to all the other Ford dealerships that run respectable and honest operations. Sorry to be blunt but posts like yours get me annoyed! Quirk Ford_2019 Shelby GT350R_WS.pdf Quirk Ford_2019 Shelby GT350_WS.pdf

  5. So, where DID you buy it and why didn't you bring it back there....I find it absolutely hilarious that you would come to a Ford forum and your very first post is "Don't buy a Ford"....my advice to you is to simply step off, but I will be nice and patiently await your reply...but I am guessing that you are likely a "one and done" poster, just here to bitch about something that clearly is a dealer issue...

  6. I bought a 98, 07, 2011, 2015 and now a 2020 on Order (your don't buy a Ford won't sway anyone). Ford does not wash their vehicles (Lincoln does) and frankly since you keep throwing out this $80k number like it should make a difference... FYI, Raptors start at $55k so if I bought one for $55k and you bought one for $80k because you optioned it more, you should get better treatment than I???? Exactly, so stop throwing out how much you paid, it does not make you any more special over any other person who bought a Ford. I would never want a dealership's low paid recondition crew washing my vehicles and putting swirls in the clear coat. Even on delivery I tell them not to wash it, they can detail the inside and dress the tires but that is it. Ford does not pay for rentals (again, normal). Some dealers have their own fleet of vehicles at their expense. My dealership that I have been going to for 10 years now just started this last year. Guess what you get for free... and EcoSport. Granted it is still free but it is also first come first serve. If you buy Ford's ESP (I can get you one at cost), then you get a rental vehicle up to $50 per day covered for up to 10 days. There is also a 1st day rental option for under $100 where you drive away with one upon drop off instead of waiting 24 hours. What I don't understand is why you would drive 2,000 miles after the dealership said to drop it off with 2 major issues (oil pressure and transmission). Rental vehicles are covered in your manual/warranty guide that comes with the vehicle. Sound like you haven't spent the time to read through it. There is a lot of info in there, I'd suggest you read it.

  7. You seem to think this forum and the moderators are somehow associated with Ford and you couldn’t be more wrong. None of us work for Ford and Ford has no connection to this private forum. 3 yrs/36k miles is the industry standard bumper to bumper warranty or most makes including Honda and Toyota. The point is whatever the warranty is that’s all you paid for. You could have gotten a 7 yr 100k mile ESP premium care extended warranty but you chose not to spend the money. Had Ford made the standard warranty longer you would have paid more for the vehicle up front. Warranties are never ever free.

  8. Bronco Scout (CX430) Bronco 2-Door (U725) Bronco 4-Door (U725) Bronco Fullsize - not approved due to a few reasons, chiefly being lack of production space. If the Expedition and Navigator had their own plant, it probably would’ve been approved. But....they don’t wanted to give up Expedition and Navigator volumes. If they find space elsewhere this may change.

  9. Does this still belong in "competing products"?

  10. Unfortunately Ford dealers are not Ford and truth is there is very little Ford can do about a bad dealer like that due to state laws. What you can do is find a different dealer. Factory warranty doesnt provide loaners but good dealers do.

  11. I'm still waiting on the 2001 Mercury Cougar S that was listed in the dealer literature. Guessing it's probably parked next to all the new Bronco's, Lincoln Mustang based coupe, Mach/Model E, and anything else they said was coming for...ever. Please feel free to add any models I missed.

  12. Or it might be what happened to my late Dec. Nautilus build. After it was built it was supposed to get here to Maryland in a week. But they found an issue with one of the vehicles in my production batch and pulled the whole lot of them aside for inspection (that took them weeks to complete). The Nautilus finally arrived early Feb.

  13. Sounds like recent Chevrolet and Cadillac product releases..... It breaks my heart to say this but you guys in the US just don't know how shit house Ford treats it global Ford fans and to what lengths and prices we have to go to in order to get high end Ford products. Now that the GT Mustang is sold in Australia, Ford blocks the parallel importation of any LHD gray imports, even the GT350s, the importation of discounted F150s that might after conversion compete directly with $76K Ranger Raptor.

  15. Calling these V models is odd. The problem isn't that they're going to offer models above these. The problem is that they took the existing V name, which was well regarded, and watered it down so that they could add trims above V. They could have kept V-sport (much like BMW and Mercedes do M-sport, and AMG sport or whatever theirs is called), and badged these models as V-sport. The "coming" higher performance models would've been the V (proper) models, and if they wanted to go above and beyond that, you do - "Super V" or something. With the move now, on paper to the average Joe, it looks like Cadillac V is a downgrade from the previous models - regardless of some future higher model that nobody can see right now. They spent years building the V name, only to water it down themselves. This move would be akin to BMW taking the M340i (with 385hp) and calling it the new M3, and then saying, but wait! At a later date, we'll show something else that'll be what the last M3 was, but it's not going to be an M3! Maybe it's just the headlight design, but I keep thinking of this: Doesn't help that in the reveal event photos the Caddy badge looks too large and like it was slapped on a generic vehicle from a TV ad. ---- The CT4's interior does look good, though. I didn't like the rear at first, but I actually like the back end better in the real world shots than the GM photos. Also, supposedly there are higher powered/better performing models coming above this, which makes the use of the V name instead of V-sport trim on these odd.

  16. Not aware of any recalls for this (I check from time to time). I would agree. The AC compressor shouldn't fail at that age or mileage. And out of all the cars I've had, all the HVAC issues were in the GM vehicles. Ford should fix it, because that's clearly a defect. Whether or not they will without taking aggressive measures is questionable, and if the dealers around you refuse, you may have to contact Ford directly. I wish you luck, and if you have any warrenty left, push like hell for it to be covered.

  17. I’m glad you are getting assistance. It does suck to have a failure at low mileage but be out of warranty time wise. I’ll say this over and over. Warranties are nothing but an insurance policy. Just like health insurance and automobile insurance. You could have bought an ESP and would have been covered and this not even happen. Like health insurance, if I don’t have it and I need medical attention then I have to pay. I don’t follow all the manufacturers warranty limits. However, I believe most in that class vehicle would be 3/36 bumper to bumper and power train is longer of course. Now step up to a luxury class and it be 4/50. Yet, you are paying for that extra in the MSRP. I bought Premium care on my two vehicles. It was about $1500 for 7/100. I’m sure I can find $1500 worth of repairs within 7 years 100k miles. Unfortunately, $1500 doesn’t go far anymore. One A/C repair can blow past that. Replace a seat track or a window regulator. It doesn’t take long. Or take that $1500 and put it aside towards any repairs. Regardless, I’m glad you are getting your escape fixed and hope no more issues.

  18. There really aren't any issues with that compressor, per se. If you have a good relationship with your dealer you might get some assistance from Ford, if you (and I can't stress this enough) ASK kindly.

  19. Very good points he brought up in the video regarding the possible merger. It could be good for FCA globally but not for America. But we'll see how it comes out.

  20. For those who are really interested in this proposed merger, listen to the last few minutes of Thursday's Autoline Daily. Go to the 4:45 mark. Very interesting. http://www.autoline.tv/journal/?p=62047
