  1. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/05/28/2020-ford-escape-price-25980/ S - $25,980 (1.5l 3 cyl) SE - $28,190 (1.5l 3 cyl) SE Sport - $29,350 (hybrid only) SEL - $30,350 (1.5l 3 cyl standard, 2.0 optional) titanium - $34,495 (hybrid standard, 2.0 4 cyl optional) SE Sport seems like a good option. Seems like a no brainer over the SE for the hybrid alone, but it also comes with the 12 inch digital instrument panel. Curious how people will react to the 3 cylinder, I have to admit I’d be hesitant to buy a vehicle with a 3 cylinder.

  2. How have times changed? The 2019 Ranger’s 2.3L four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, producing 310lb-ft of torque and 270hp, has nearly as much torque and is up 30hp on the first generation Ford Lightning pickup’s 5.8L V8.

  3. 100% I'm not the target customer for an Escape. Boring and practical are what sells the volume in the market.

  5. Cross traffic alert is standard on all Escapes. If people use their turn signals the lane keeping system isn't annoying. Lane keeping is really easy as it uses the same camera as the AEB and High Beam assist, where as rear sensing needs additional sensors. There is actually a lot of discontenting from the 2017 Escape to the 2020 as well as features on the upper end that Ford doesn't even offer that the competition does. The update will keep current Escape buyers happy and into a new one but not sure it will do much to move people into an Escape, short of the Hybrid.

  7. If you look 6 topics down from this one you'll see the 2020 Superduty production information topic that has all the dates. Ice-capades posts this info for most vehicles in the vehicle specific forum. Order Guides are available by clicking on More Applications at the top of the page then Product Order Guides. These are usually released right about the time the order bank opens.

  8. I don't mean four or five thousands of dollars difference, I mean like $1,000 or $1,500. Also With Ford packaging it was far cheaper to just get a loaded SE than it was a Titanium and they would be equipped almost exactly the same way. ATP's are total Bull S***. A $25000 Camry with a $750 rebate will show a Transaction price of $25,000. A $27,000 Fusion with a $4000 rebate will show a Transaction price of $27,000. In the end Toyota sold the car for $24,250 and Ford sold the car for $23,000.

  12. Look at Honda with the Civic, VW with the Jetta, and even the inroads the Koran's made in the market. When they were cheap or went cheap people didn't buy them. When they added value to them is when sales picked up. The Civic/Corolla/Accord/Camry/CRV/RAV4 etc are not the lowest price entries in the market they proved the best value for the money in the market and that is where shoppers go.

  14. Not cheap, Value. Can't just be cheap. Americans buyers will pay slightly more if they feel they are getting a better product. Plus consumer subconscious preferences come into play, even if its not based in fact with the cheapest thing "it is missing something, not as safe or not as of high quality as this one that is slightly more" It is the reason why the cheapest wine on the menu is usually the same cost to the restaurant as the next few that are more expensive to it. Majority of people will think I'm not taking the cheaper one I'll take the slightly more expensive one that is still in my budget as its tastes better.

  15. Scotty Kilmer is a Youtube click whore. He plays fast and loose with the facts so he can put a lot of content online. 70 percent of engine wear is on COLD start. If you warmed up the engine and put some oil in the filter before starting it's fine. Yes, you can put oil in a horizontal filter, just don't fill it up. Do it on my motorcycles all the time.

  16. I can assure you I like many are not getting raises every year to cover the cost of inflation for what is almost equal product. My wife who is in the dental field and rated as one of the top employees of 40+ year after year didnt get a raise for 8 years freezes across the board). Myself it has been 3 years despite the highest of ratings across my district. My 15 f350 platinum that I had loaded up that I paid $62k for is still worth $54k 5 years later. Why is that? Because of how much these vehicles are increasing in cost brand new. It's both amazing and sad that I could sell it for $54k, put it down on a 2020 and walk out with a brand new one only owing $25k after getting 5 years out of my 15. I stand by my comment that this type of pricing for a FORD has to plateau at some point. $40k escape, $50k edge, $60k explorer, $80k expedition, $95k superduty.. $60k Corsair????

  17. I'm wondering when this is all going to start leveling out (the cost increase in vehicles). There has to be a point where Manufacturers have to stop increasing the prices as they are going increasing far faster than inflation is. 2020 Escape Titanium $40k My 2011 Explorer Limited (every option possible), $43k when I bought it. Yes I get that there are a few things that are offered now that wasn't back then but it's just amazing how expensive these vehicles are getting.

  21. All the engineering development and validation were probably done in conjunction with Escape and Corsair so it won't need a separate mule testing phase. Some of the supposed Escape or Corsair mule could have very well been Scout mules... we just don't know because they are the same vehicles under the tophat. And of course Ford could test any Scout specific hardware with a new production Escape or Corsair body once those cars hit the dealer lot... so we really won't know at all if it is a Scout mule. I think what you meant to ask is the lack of Scout prototypes... which is the camouflaged test vehicle with Scout specific body panels. And it's too early to see prototypes yet. I think we will see some by late summer or fall.

  22. For the longest time, Ford was telling its Dealers not to expect the 2020 Explorer until July but the "OK to Buy" status should be within reach soon, if not already, so I would think there will be units arriving at dealerships sometime in June. The EPA ratings are crucial as no vehicles can be sold until the EPA ratings and Window Stickers are available. In addition, no brochures will be available either until the EPA ratings are released.
