  1. I'd hope that the Bronco's rear hubs are always locked...

  2. Apparently that's not good enough for some people ?

  3. Guys. Let's not pretend that Brono and Wrangler have ever been 100% analogous. The new Bronco has been designed and engineered *not* to be a Ford Wrangler. It is meant to be a "functional lifestyle vehicle" that is livable as a daily driver but completely capable as an offroader. Wranger will undercut Bronco at the lower end (Bronco Scout, this is your cue...), but that's the only tradeoff between the two. Go way back... the Wrangler's pedigree as original Jeep (many of which were Ford-built) has ALWAYS been a utilitarian, sacrifices-made vehicle that wasn't necessarily the best daily driver. The new Bronco will, as I'm told, bring real capability to a livable package with heaps of style and panache. Ford doesn't always get it right, but I've been assured that the Bronco *brand* is being handled with the same "golden goose" gloves as F-Series and Mustang.

  4. Yeah, most I've seen have been Lariats. But as jpd pointed out, higher trims are pushed out first.

  5. This was rumored about 2 1/2 years ago. At that time, stories had the 4.8 replacing the 5.0 in the 2018 Mustang and F150. It was mentioned then that the new engine would have dual fuel injection. The 2018 5.0 did get the dual injection so I'm guessing the story is wrong now as it was then. With all the emphasis on the ecoboost V-6's and as good as the 5.0 already is, it doesn't seem likely Ford would go to the expecnse of designing a new small V-8.

  7. Has nothing to do with Ford - he’s been bemoaning Ford getting rid of sedans and then he goes out and buys a RAV4. If he wanted a CUV then Ford has plenty of those and he shouldn’t be complaining about it.

  8. It's dumb on so many levels. "Trailblazer" spent 3 years as a trim level of the Blazer, then the nameplate was used on the Blazer's GM360-based replacement midsize SUV, which itself was replaced by the Traverse. Now the Blazer nameplate has been resurrected and slapped on a FWD, overpriced midsized crossover, and the Trailblazer name will come back and slot *under* this. So the lineup is likely to be: Trax / Trailblazer / Equinox / Blazer / Traverse Lord Jesus. All the facepalms.

  9. Nowadays? Nothing. I don't think there's even a flareside option from anyone anymore. I think it died with the '15 redesign for F-150. This continues to puzzle me. I guess it's the "if it ain't broke" logic? And keeping costs down on lower trim models? I don't know. They hide Expy's too. I'm sure it will be. Well we've already seen the F-150 running around with IRS, so yeah. --- Something I just thought of - I wonder if interior dimensions/hardpoints will be the same as the current model? My reasoning in asking - could we see Expedition gain this new interior for it's refresh? Or would we have to wait for a redesign? I know it would go against Ford's "barely touch the interior" MCE mantra of late, but I think it'd help Expy, which has had some criticism of the trucky interior.

  10. Why wouldn't they have just called Blazer "Trailblazer" ? At least it would've been closer to what the last Trailblazer was. Calling a model below Equinox Trailblazer doesn't make sense. But I guess it is GM...

  11. I miss the big rig look it has had, but it looks far better then the Chevy or GMC products.

  12. Thanks JPD - This is very helpful in understanding two things: 1. Ranger situation is not as bad as made to sound - but it has a ways to go. Slow and steady...I have high hopes 2. The Tacoma is the the most dominant model in its class on the planet....Wow! More questions to come soon: Will the Gladiator finally be something that can actually take sales from Tacoma?

  13. The sloping roof line is probably what killed interior volume.

  14. Put three hundred pounds on in the same size pants and somethings gotta give internally. The posh seats will take up more space ?
