  1. That is world class irony, a car maker with a long-standing reputation for electrical gremlins going to all-electric.

  2. Hmmmm . . . . No mention of a P&W R2800 option?

  3. It is kinda like how roller coasters just haven't been the same since they added those pull down bars to keep you planted to the seat!

  4. I mis-read the topic name and thought it read 10am vs 6am. If that was so, I would choose 10am, because by then I've already had my shower, did my commute, and had 2 cups of coffee!

  5. Some good news on the Avon Lake Ford Mediums, traveling today from Baltimore to Las Vegas through Chicago, I did notice Southwest Airlines using several of the Avon Lake Mediums as service trucks for their airplanes! From a distance, they appeared to be 6.8L V-10s

  8. of course the automatic shifting is faster / performance is better (few hundredths of a seconds), no doubt about that ! But as you said: some folks prefer old school manual shifting, especially on a "rude" american V8 ??

  9. Maybe. The 8.1L lives on as the PSI 8.8L, which is used in Navistar school buses, both gasoline and propane: https://imt-technologie.de/file/2016/03/PSI 8.8L-INDUSTRIAL.pdf But, GM also offers an 8.0L V-8 that is based on the older 7.4L Vortec: https://gmserviceinsights.com/2014/04/new-vortec-8-0l-expands-towing-ranges-to-new-extremes/ The 8.0L is used in Freightliner propane fuel medium trucks and school buses. I have heard rumors that PSI may be planning some significant upgrades to the 8.8L. If true, that might be the rumored new engine. Just a guess on my part.

  10. I was so close to posting this same comment. Jaguar was basically a mess when Ford bought them.

  11. I know the 2020 Explorer was shown at the Detroit Auto Show, and I believe the same 2020 Explorer prototypes were on display at the recent Chicago Auto Show. My wife and I would like to see the 2020 Explorers at an upcoming auto show -- and we're willing to travel to do so -- but can't seem to find which auto shows will feature the 2020 Explorer. Is there a website that presents Ford's auto-show schedule and indicates which locations will have the 2020 Explorer on display? I know most of the auto shows are supported by the area's Ford dealers, but "future" vehicles like the 2020 Explorer must be supplied by corporate. Correct?

  12. This might be different than the other lawsuits if the engineers raised the issue and it was covered up. OTOH any tall vehicle is subject to rolling under the right circumstances. Was he wearing his seatbelt? If not then I don't think Ford should be held responsible at all. Stupid juries just feel sorry for the plaintiffs sometimes and ignore contributory negligence.

  13. PAG was a bit of a disaster but most of those brands probably wouldn’t be around if Ford didn’t buy them.

  14. I ordered mine January 27th. Got a call from the dealer saying he just got a VIN February 14th. He also said the projected build was the first week of April "and if there aren't any part shortages etc. then ...maybe the end of April, but in May is more likely". ? Hot Pepper Lariat Crew, RWD/ Locking Diff, 501A, trailer tow pkg., splash guards, chrome pkg., chrome running boards, keyless entry, sprayin bedliner, hard fold tonneau cover MSRP $41,830 X Plan $40,238

  15. Now, I actually like that idea...Mustang ST ties in with the rest of the line of ST labeled performance vehicles since the rest of the ST line also relies on Ecoboost engines for more powerful performance and Mustang GT is a cut above all the rest with its legendary and iconic 5.0L V8.
